Prolouge

The morning sun rose. Nothing but pure sunlight struck my face. It was warm, even comforting, given the situation I was in. Being transported to a nearby city, I was stuck, along with several others, in a cage behind another carriage that was being drawn by horses.

I had a feeling I wasn't supposed to be here, however, I couldn't place it on anything specific. The people around me all kept their mouths shut when our captors, which looked like fur-less versions of ourselves, came out and threw us food.

We had been traveling for about four days now with no inclination of being close to our destination for at least another two to six days. I couldn't understand the captors language either. It sounded more like babbling, nonsensical noise when they ordered us around. I usually just did what the other fur coated people did. I was significantly shorter too, likely just a kid, though, my mind didn't feel like it fit in a kids body.

Our travels didn't have much action or issues. No bandits, nor monsters appeared, although some had appeared at night, killing some of the armored captors in the process. I also seemed to be the center of attention when the other captives were talking. I could understand them to a degree, however, I still sometimes couldn't make out what they were saying because they had to be hushed about it.

Several times, the others would give me their food and go a day or two without eating. Contrary to what I wanted to do, my body seemed to automatically accept the food and eat it. This also caused some of the other captives to die of hunger and be thrown into the woods or into small ditches for the wildlife to eventually eat. It was cruel and inhumane, but still, no one said a word against what they were doing.

Soon, we reached a village. One, where sadly, several of the other captives were taken out of the cage and not seen again as we continued to the next place. As the days past, I kept hearing them say Keluvia, which I could only assume is either the name of someone or the name of the destination we were headed to. I just hope that we can actually get something to eat there other than the dry, stale bread that we had been eating for the past several days.
