“Hi there! Welcome to the world of Pokémon! My name is Professor Juniper. Everyone calls me the Pokémon Professor!”

The screen of the Xtranciever glowed softly with a cold blue light, the only illumination in the dark bedroom. It was a recording of professor Aurea juniper, the Unova region’s main Pokemon professor

The recording continued speaking, explaining what Pokemon were, as if anyone could forget. As if the audience she was speaking wasn’t entirely composed of the most eager young trainers in the country.

As she finished her speech, she faded into the white background and a popup window emerged

Carefully the viewer’s fingers began to move

>Girl

“And could you tell me your name?”

>Heva

The screen froze for a moment before continuing “welcome Heva, to the world of Pokemon” 

Heva felt a jolt of joy run through her like a thunderbolt. There were no more questions, which meant Juniper had given her an early pass! She spun until she was face down in her pillow and began humming cheerfully to herself, heart racing until she finally slipped into a fitful sleep plagued with dreams of greatness.
