Chapter 2 - Ice Elves

Chapter 2 - Ice Elves

"Captain we are soon to arrive at Eldelun" a full silver armored man with a blue cape dragging behind him spoke towards the person with a similarly looking armor only the color was different it was red completely red.The red-armored one was riding a unicorn that was completely protected by armor as well.

The one riding the unicorn turned his head towards the one that spoke to him and with a sweet but also serious voice spoke "very good keep up the speed men! Those damned human bandits take advantage of the war and run across our land unchecked, they kill and enslave our people!" the red armored woman yelled and the rest of the marching men speed up.

"This is..." the red armored woman took off her helmet a long blonde hair slid down her back, her face could be considered extraordinary if it wasn't for the deep scar that covered one-half of her face the woman was called Della, she was the commander of the special force that was ordered to protect the borders of the great kingdom.

She starred at the town called Eldelun the town was outside the great elven kingdom but it was still inhabited by the elven kind when the nearby garrison that was commanded by Della saved a fleeing elven man with many wounds on his body, he pleaded for help and said that their town was under attack by many humans.

Della had no obligation to help the people that did not belong to the great elven kingdom, but she had a soft heart for people in great need, she mustered half the garrison and with great haste, they made their way towards Eldelun, but in the end all they found was a ruin of a scorched town, not one survivor was found.

"Sigh, we were too late" she sighed heavily and looked at the burned buildings and the dead bodies, the bodies mostly belonged to males as the females were better sold as slaves at the black market.

"Commander!" one of the silver armored soldiers walked with haste towards her and called out.

"Speak" she beckoned to him with her hand to speak freely.

"Our scouts report that a band of horseman is descending down from the frozen land I believe they are the bandits that destroyed this town, your orders?" the man spoke seriously as he awaited the answer from Della.

"Set up an ambush leave few survivors!" Della gave the order before she mounted her steed and put on her red helmet.

"By your command!" the soldier saluted and quickly went away.

"Come quickly lets return to the hideout, I had enough of this place!" the bandits that met the king hurriedly ran away from the frozen lands as if they were chased by demons, they didn't even stop to take a break even their horses were dead tired but they didn't care.

Suddenly a rain of arrows came down on them slaughtering almost everyone except the leader of the bandits and a few others, the leader of the bandits was in disbelief, he didn't even have time react before the remaining survivor along with him were already surrounded by spears and arrows pointed at them.

"Drop your weapons scum!" one of the elven soldiers yelled at the bandits to drop their weapons wich they did almost instantly.

"Hmph, cowards, take them to the commander!" the elven soldier looked at the bandits like they were nothing more than insects and order the rest of the soldiers to take the bandits to Della.

The bandits were brought before Della and placed down on their knees, their hands were bound by ropes Della looked at them with hateful eyes and she spoke.

"Speak human, were you the ones that committed these atrocities in this town?" she spoke loudly and looked at the bandit leader.

"......" he just stared at her with dead eyes, he was broken inside his company first encountered that monster of the frozen land and while they were running away from the creature they were ambushed by the elven elite soldiers, even if he survived this now the higher ups would have his head for the failure.

"Sigh, of with their heads" Della sighed before she ordered her men to cut down the bandits, she turned her steed around and slowly started to gallop away from the prisoners.

The bandit leader looked at the blade that was closing in on his neck, in that moment a strong will to live surfaced deep within the bandit leader, he rolled away and avoided the blade he looked towards Della and in his last desperate attempt he yelled out.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

"Wait! There are still survivors!" the elf that was about to cut his head stopped inches away from his neck, the elf looked at Della waiting for her orders.

"Let him speak" Della once again brought her steed closer to the prisoners.

"First I would like your word that you will let me live after I tell you what I know, do I have your word?" the bandit looked at Della, he was scared sweat purred down his forehead, this was the first time he felt so close to death.

Della looked at him in silence for a while, she broke the silence "Very well you have my word, no harm will come to you but you will be released after you tell us what you know" Della made a decision, she was a cold-hearted veteran when it came to war and killing but she still had a soft spot for her kind and for the helpless and weak.

"There....up in the frozen land about three days ride there should be little more than two hundred of your kind with women and children....if they are still alive that is" the bandit spoke with a grim looking face.

"What do you mean if they are still alive?" Della asked in confusion as she beckoned the bandit leader to continue.

"A terrifying creature made of strange crystal lives there I doubt there are any survivors but this is all I know I told you what I know now let me go!" the bandit yelled at Della.

Della looked at him "Sigh, release him!" she had thoughts about killing him but she did give him her word that she would let him live but not his men "kill the rest!" when she spoke her words soft screams were heard for one second before they died down.

"A creature made of strange crystal huh" Della looked towards the frozen land.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a week since the king has turned the elves into a new race ice elves, the elves called him king, at first he did not know what that word meant, so he asked Gorluin the male elf that had the courage to speak to him and a father to Freya, explained to him what king meant that it was someone who leads and rules over people, the king did not understand it completely but he accepted it as he saw no harm in it.

The first thing the ice elves did was find a suitable place where they would make their dwellings and build a new town, they found such a place, a large clearing surrounded by mountains on all sides except for one entrance.

The male elves worked tirelessly to make some houses out of wood for the beginning, they were no longer afraid of the cold weather of the frozen land, in fact, they enjoyed it now that they have changed but still they could not just sleep on the snow and ice.

The little children like Freya all enjoyed playing with the big crystal giant, the children would often get scolded by their parents and then they would apologize to the king, but he actually didn't mind it he enjoyed what he had now he was no longer a lone giant that nothing dared to approach.

The king learned a lot from the ice elves about the world they lived in, they explained to him about the war of two sides that that continues since the beginning of time.

They taught him about various kingdoms and races the ones that support the angels of light and the ones that sided with the demons of darkness.

While he was having one of his casual talks with the ice elves elders Freya came to play with him, she once again asked to sit on his shoulder saying that the best place to sit was there, while she was having fun she asked the king for his name, which he responded to that he did not have one.

"Then how about Cyros!" she smiled sweetly at him as she spoke.

"Freya doesn't be rude to the king!" the elders scolded Freya loudly.

"Cyros I like it, my name shall be Cryos, yes it is a good name" the king spoke with a pleased voice.

"Ahaha....yes it is a splendid indeed name!" the elders laughed and praised the name of their king.

Cyros was sitting as usual on the ground little further than the elves homes because he was too big and he once aciddently destroyed one of the homes luckily no one was inside this happened thus the elves decided to build him his own house or better to say a temple.

They were very quick at building his temple even faster than they built their houses it was nothing more than a bigger house but it was still a temple and home that the elves built for their new king, but Cyros still enjoyed walking and talking with the ice elves rather than being all alone in a temple.

So he split a small part of his body same height as a normal elf, it was the same shape as the main body but only much smaller, and less powerful but still it was not weak, his main body slumbered in the newly built temple, while his mind was controlling the smaller one.

Cyros walked down the street where the elves lived, all would greet him kindly, Freya was little sad that he was not as big as before but she found that sitting on the smaller Cyros shoulder is equally fun as well.

Cyros noticed that some of the elves along with Gorluin, Freya's father made strange looking tools when he asked about it they happily explained that the tools were called bows and arrows and that they were used for hunting and for killing.

Cyros did not like the killing part, but he was not as ignorant as before he understood that they needed to defend themselves.

The elves also learned that they could use and control ice magic, and they were really good at it, they tested it out on their newly made bows and arrows they coated the arrow heads with ice magic that turned it almost instantly, they fired at the dummy targets they made when the arrow pierced the dummy the wound that the arrow made was instantly turned to ice, if the arrow this that to the dummy what would it do to the living being?

While they were still testing their new found power alongside Cyros one of the men came rushing in while yelling.

"King Cyros, Gorluin! They are coming!" the man was screaming like he was crazy.

Gorluin stopped him and asked him "Who is coming? Is it those damned bandits again!?" Gorluin asked with an angry voice as he yelled at the man.

"No...not the bandits its the Woodland Kingdom soldiers!" the man yelled excitedly.
