Hello, I hope you like this! Anyways this has a bit of info-dump in this first chapter but not that much. My chapters will be from 1000-2000 words long since this is kind of a fun on-the-side thing I'm doing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stumbling out of bed I look around and try to observe where I am. The whole room has an authentic Chinese feel to it. All of the furnishings seem like they could be put in a museum or sold in an antique shop. No electric cables anywhere, no outlets to plug something in. Yep, something is definitely wrong.
I look down at my body and also feel slightly different. It becomes more noticeable after I walk around some. My height is a little bit taller than usual and my strength is probably 1/100000 of what it used to be. No lie, that’s how weak I am right now. It reminds me of the time before I started cultivating.
So, before I woke up, I was in my house where I live alone. Well I guess it’s 'lived' alone because this certainly doesn’t feel like my world, the qi is denser than anywhere on Earth by multiple times. Anyways the reason I lived alone was because as a cultivator (not many people knew how to cultivate) I outlived all of my neighbors. Think of martial cultivators on Earth as a dying race if you will.
I stopped counting my birthday after 600. My face and body however has stayed in a perpetual state of being 23 years old. That was when I hit the Grandmaster level in cultivation; the youngest in history to do so. Sadly, being basically immortal and having relationships is heartbreaking, so I gave up on that after my 2nd wife died. You might ask why do I not find female cultivators and have a loving relationship with them:
First, the women who I met that were Grandmaster level can be counted on one hand. Second, they were crazy. Batshit crazy. I don’t like to talk smack about the opposite gender, however if you give a woman the power to split mountains in twain and you break out in argument with them; you are asking for continental annihilation.
Plus the other female grandmasters have put aside those feelings to try and break into the next realm of cultivation. I myself have never seen nor heard of the next level after grandmaster, but that’s just useless information for the situation I’m in right now.
Anyways back to the matter at hand, I have an issue that can be resolved rather easily. As I now have no idea what body I am currently in and no memories of where I am or who I turned into so I just need to use a certain soul recovering technique I created hundreds of years ago.
This technique is called «Self-Soul Probe» and it uses the power of the soul to find memories that are lost to oneself. The main function for it is if someone has used a technique against you to erase your memories, then you can get them back. Sort of like when you delete something on your computer and it goes to the recycle bin afterwards. Then you can find it in the recycle bin and see what it was that was deleted. In this case I’m using it in a different way to find out about the soul that I have most likely taken over. I just need to transfer those ‘deleted’ memories that my soul overwrote when I entered this body.
And….success!
Uwah, it’s uncomfortable getting this information overload. As I thought, this is a different world entirely. At least this host is pretty well off. His, or I guess 'my' family is a wealthy clan in a city called Sunbreak City. I am 14 years old and my name now is sort of peculiar: Lei Longwei (in English I think it is thunder dragon greatness?). I’m a part of the Lei family, which is one of the 3 clans in Sunbreak City. My father (Lei Hong) is the Clan Head and I have a sister whose name is Lei Ling and she is 10 years old.
The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there.
Hmm, right now it seems the realm/levels are as follows:
Elementary Realm -> Spirit Realm -> Earth Realm -> Cloud Realm -> Sky Realm -> King Realm -> Emperor Realm -> Immortal Realm -> Deity Realm -> God Realm.
[Author Note: You don’t really need to memorize all of these, because I’ll keep mentioning it in context throughout the story.]
Each realm has 9 levels. In the Elementary Realm you work on the physical body by exercising while absorbing the qi from around you (heaven and earth qi).
To breakthrough to the next realm (spirit realm) you have to form the dantian by condensing the qi your body has absorbed from the beginning. Depending on how well you condense the qi, the better foundation you will have for the rest of your life. Currently my body is at the 2nd level of the elementary realm. Based on the memory from my host, my peers in the clan my age are at the 7th or 8th level of elementary realm. This guy was seriously lazy…
Well at least he stayed fit and healthy. I can definitely get my cultivation rising to heights unimaginable to a teenager for sure. First though, I’m hungry…
As if the door new what I was thinking, it opened and a really cute maid walked in and bowed. Ah, this maid’s name is…damn, he never asked her name in the memories I siphoned out.
“Young Master Lei, it’s time for breakfast. May I help you get dressed?” (unknown maid)
How do I react to this, I’ve never really had a maid! In all of my centuries of living I would do everything by myself! Ugh, but having a woman in a maid outfit attend to me is so tempting…I blame it on this body’s hormones. Oh well to heck with it…
“Uh, sure I guess.”
So she sashays over to my dresser and gets a black chinese chang pao and other cloth items for me to wear. Very quickly she then takes off all of my clothes in a professional process however there was one thing that I forgot while dazed and confused. My morning wood has yet to settle down. Um, damn it’s big if I do say so myself…Ahem, anyways after the awkward moment that only lasted for a moment or two, the process continues while I’m certain that I’m blushing.
Finally done all dressed up like some kind of royalty, she motions me to exit with a beautiful smile on her face. I humbly thank her (which makes her very surprised) and walk to meet the family. Now it’s time to act cool and try not to mess things up. I feel like I’m going for some acting auditions for a theatre performance…
Sorry for the little cliff-hanger there. I'm wondering if this little novel will actually be read or liked by anyone...first time writing a story.
