They awake at the same time the next morning and start getting ready for the day.
Ozborn wanted to clean his clothes so he started to get undressed, startling Iris who was a couple feet away, stretching.
“Ah- what are you doing?!” Shrieked Iris.
“I can’t clean my clothes with them on.” Says Ozborn, unaware of the fact that it looked like he randomly decided to strip all of his clothes off.
Iris was looking the other direction, her face flushed red, until she decided to take a peek.
“Wh-what is that!” She says, surprised to see that under his clothes there was a set of scales fit tightly on his body.
“Oh, I guess I forgot to tell you about this,” He says, his face now turning red, realizing that it looked like he was getting naked right in front of her, “I made this a while back out of a Giant King Cobra’s scales.”
“How did you take down such a beast?!” Says Iris, even more shocked.
“Oh, I see.” She says once the story is over. “That’s a crazy coincidence, but how did you make it into armor?”
“I made a needle out of the snake’s shattered bones since they have the same toughness as the scales and are sharp enough to go through them.” Explains Ozborn.
“Okay, and what are you using to keep it together? The bear’s fur?” Asks Iris.
“That would have been smart but no, I’m using one of these tree’s fibers.” Says Ozborn flatly.
“So you gathered high treasure or higher tier materials and you’re holding them together with some tree scraps.” She says.
“Pretty much yeah,” Says Ozborn jokingly, “but it seems to be holding up fine.”
“Well, that aside, what do you have planned for today?” Says Iris, changing the subject.
“Today is going to be a more calm day, we’ve been working pretty hard and we’re good on food for a while so I figured that it could be fun to just take a break day.” Says Ozborn.
“Okay, sounds good.” Responds Iris.
Ozborn goes down to the river to wash his clothes, Iris goes after he is done because she doesn’t have anything else to change into.
Once their clothes are clean they start a fire and start roasting some venison over it as Iris tells some stories about her past, as well as some history about the world.

“First, I’ll tell you more about me and how I came to be washed up on this island.” She begins telling her story.
She was born into a high-class noble’s house with direct ties to the king of their nation, the nation of Brueshire that is, and to most outsiders, they are just your typical noble house. But, her family earned their trust and political standing by carrying out assassinations that were directly requested by the king.
From a young age she was taught and trained to become an assassin and as she grew up and passed the ‘test’ at the age of 18 and was granted her first mission, to assassinate a newly risen noble who gained power through illegal means.
However, she was caught by a passing guard who watched her assassinate the noble and had to be tried by the king by law.
Although it was the king himself who hired her, to avoid doubt and suspicion by his people, he needed to punish her in some way.
So the king gave her the minimum punishment that he could give her: exile.
“So are there a bunch of exiled fugitives on this island?” Says Ozborn, cutting off her story
“No, I wasn’t meant to go here at all, no one gets sent to or even attempts to get close to this island, if we are where I think we are. What happened was-” Responded Iris, continuing her story.
The knights escorted her to a ship along with some other prisoners, but those who were sentenced to death by drowning.
They all headed down the large river nearby the city on a fairly large bridge with her and the 8 other prisoners locked up in separate cells on the ship.
It was a 2 day journey from the capital to the ocean, during that time Iris couldn’t leave her cell but was fed and somewhat well taken care of. The rest of the inmates however, were not fed and if they said a single word in protest, they would be whipped by the guards that were stationed nearby.
But things took a turn for the worst once they got out to open water… They were pushing the chained up prisoners off the edge of the boat one by one until there was one left. “Since there wasn’t anyone around to see they let me out of the cage to take a breath of fresh air” Iris explained before heading back into the story-
The last inmate however put up a little bit of a fight but once she was thrown off the edge she screamed “MAY YOU BE SWALLOWED BY THE DEPTHS” as her stomach started glowing blue -clearly she ate some kind of magical item before she was even captured- then she smacked the water, the crew thought that it couldn’t have been that bad until lightning suddenly struck right where she fell.
The ocean, which was mostly calm until now, started growing in ferocity- the waves gaining in height and speed.
Iris grabbed the railing of the ship to avoid going overboard, some of the soldiers weren’t so lucky and were thrown right off the ship by how much it was tipping.
A large creature broke the surface of the water a little ways off the port side of the ship, which happened to be the same side Iris was on, and began approaching the ship faster than anything that Iris has ever seen.
“BRACE FOR IMPACT” Iris screamed, but was much too late with the creature suddenly slamming through the ship, hardly even slowing down from the impact.
What happened next seemed to be in slow motion for Iris- peering back behind her she saw shrapnel from the ship impale several of the knights that happened to be unlucky enough to be too close to the middle of the ship, which was now in two separate pieces with the very center being gone, Iris managed to be the only one of the front of the ship that was unharmed.
The ship, or what was left of it, began to tip and fall over into the ocean, Iris along with it as she clung to it for dear life, “And then I passed out from hitting the water so hard, I did wake up a few times whilst at sea, but the only thing I can remember is being really cold and a very strong current pulling me out to sea.” She says, concluding her story.
