Chapter Two
CINNABAR
Cinnabar walked through the streets of Eon City. She passed by an ad with a picture of two slaughtered Eeveelutions on it, with text at the bottom saying “Two more traitors dead!” Cinnabar was used to sights like this, and didn't even bat an eye at the gruesome image.
The streets were filled with Pokemon, mostly Eeveelutions, which made up the main population of Eon City. Eeveelutions were the most respected mortal species— except for Umbreon, who were deemed “disgraceful.”
Cinnabar herself was a Glaceon. Not a shiny or anything special, just a normal Glaceon. She had a torn ear from a kithood accident, but other than that nothing would make her stand out.
A silver Eevee crashed into her. A blue Sylveon pulled the Eevee back, glaring at Cinnabar as if it was her fault that the kid hadn't been watching where he was going.
Probably one of the nobles, Cinnabar thought. She wasn't sure which one was the Sylveon, so she went through them in her mind. Cranberry, Crystalline, Limelight, Coffee, Lapis…Lapis! That was the shiny Sylveon. So that would make the shiny Eevee…Feather.
It was unusual to see someone important just randomly on the street. Cinnabar wondered where Lapis was going. There's probably a meeting or something. Wonder what happened this time.

Cinnabar turned, entering a restaurant.
“Are you here with someone?” The Espeon at the counter asked.
“Have you seen an Espeon, a Flareon and a Sylveon who said they were waiting for a Glaceon?” Cinnabar asked.
The Espeon nodded, pointing to a table.
Cinnabar trotted over to where her three friends were, sitting down by them.
Sunburst, the Flareon, who was sitting across from Cinnabar and Velvet the Sylveon, lifted her head as she saw Cinnabar.
“You made it!” Sunburst said. “I thought you were never going to arrive!”
“Sorry, got a little held up by my little sister needing my help with an experiment where she found out how fast ice melts”, Cinnabar said. “She claims she accepted that project because, in her exact words, ‘I have a walking ice cube maker as a big sister so I don't need to leave the water sitting in the freezer.’” Cinnabar said this in a high-pitched tone of voice.
Sunburst, Velvet and Jade, the Espeon, all burst out laughing.
“She sounds like a caring younger sister who loves you for who you are as a person”, Sunburst said sarcastically.
“Tau really isn't that bad”, Cinnabar said. “When she isn't using me as a sentient ice cube maker.”
“Does your sister see you as an object or did she get your sense of humor is the real question”, Velvet pointed out.
Cinnabar laughed. “That is a good question.”
“And did you hear the news?” Jade asked.
“What news?” Cinnabar asked.
“They say that there's going to be a revolution within the Legends”, Jade said. “Mew's leading it. I don't know about sides, but I'm assuming the other Mews and the Mewtwo are on Mew’s side.”
“Sheesh, what rumors have you been listening to?” Sunburst asked. “Did Mew float down from the sky and tell you herself?”
“According to what I've heard, the news was delivered by a Mew and a Mewtwo”, Jade said.
“We're here to eat, not worry about stuff that's no doubt going to be dealt with by higher-ups”, Velvet said, sighing. “I want food.”
Cinnabar nodded. “Let's eat, then talk about Legendary drama.”
