> Don't you think the sky is so beautiful !
Those words were Levan's oldest memory. He was an orphan, he had lived on the streets for as long as he could remember, but those words were indeed something from another time... a time where he had a past and a story.
Levan looked at the sky as always, like every other day of his life, from atop old man Noel's coop. Built for around 60 hens, it was about 4 meters tall and with the young man lying down on it while gazing at the sky, it was the perfect place to feed your passions in silence, with the people walking by being unaware of a certain individual fulfilling his daily routine. Of course, everybody from the village that knew even a little bit about "that orphan kid who you should keep distance from" already expected him to be there.
Just as quick as Levan entered his "dreamy state" he snapped out of it in the blink of an eye. The agility of a kid raised on the streets is nothing to ignore, as he swiftly jumped directly from lying down to the air and landed down on the ground.
~I think some peaches would be nice after this~ he thought and set for Semi's orchard.
With one quick push into the ground he landed straight on the fence just to get kicked in the back so hard it lunched him a couple of yards across old man's pasture letting out a "Motherfu-" through his teeth.
Levan stood up immediately to face his teacher.
"You're getting more and more slower looking at the sky all day, Levan!"
"Are you mad or something old man?!"
Normally, when provoked, Levan would bash anyone's head into the ground but this time it was his protector that he was facing. Even if he grew up on the streets he still understood respect, and that was, of course, because of old man's education after all. Besides... ~ I wonder if I could make him fall on the ground this time... ~ he was still no match for a former captain in the 4th Legion : Lagas.
"What do you want?"
"I wanted to greet you, partner! After all you just returned!
"Well I am not very fond of your greetings Noel."

The cheerful laughter Levan heard since Noel found him softened his heart in that moment. Even if he never admitted what the old man meant for him he still deeply loved him like a father.
"I am glad you didn't ruin your vocabulary while you were away boy."
~Annoying as always... ~ were Levan's thoughts. Everyone called him a man. He was already 20 and when you live on the streets your age could be accentuated further. Noel was the only one who still called him a boy.
"Anyway I have work to do kid. What's your next destination?"
Levan looked away, towards a hill north-west of Noel's farm.
"I am going to see Sami."
Even after living 55 years and fighting in the League's army his teacher still had that youthful temperament.
" You're going to Sami's !? Like that !? Kid I know you just arrived yesterday from your travel but there is no way you could go see her like that!"
Levan wasn't bothered by his looks at all but... Sami could make him regret anything, like she was always able too. Alongside that she was Sami, the one that cared about him the most and also breastfed him after Noel found him. Her daughter had died about a week before the old man found him so that little abandoned child became Sami's new purpose in life.
Even so, his mother figure was not weak at all ~Well, except her combat abilities~ that were just a bit above average. ~Sometimes there is nothing you can do if you don't have magic I guess~
Right now she couldn't see him with his dirty hair and used clothes. Not to mention the smell and little bit of dirt on his face.
"I'll go home first, get ready and then I'll see her"
"Good. Give her my greetings as well!'
The filthy student was already walking away, weaving his hand nonchalantly in the air as a ~goodbye~.
What Levan called "home" was a little hut not that far way from Sami's. It was in the village but a good number of trees surrounding it could almost make you miss it due to it's small size.
It comprised of one single room that had a bed, a table, a chest, a somewhat large wardrobe made by him when he was a bit younger and finally a mirror, the first object he had ever stolen.
~I'll wash myself first~ concluded Levan after watching his filthy figure in the mirror.
All said and done, he was dressed in the clothes Sami once bought for him. ~I know she is kind of rich but why pay for clothes I could so easily steal?~ Levan thought at that time.
When he was about to leave he noticed there was a note for him on the small table in his home.
~It's from Noel? He must have found out I arrived yesterday and while I was away this morning he came here.~
> Dear boy,
>
> I know you arrived yesterday but since you didn't directly come to me I suppose you didn't find it.
>
> So I already checked the other plan with Ber, it was a success. Sami will tell you more about it when you visit her.
>
> Take care!
~Damn old man!~
Levan left for Sami's orchard.
