Fractured Power
Raithen, the king of the gods sent a few of his sons and daughters to earth from Velcamige, the home of the gods. Their home was far above the earth. It would take a human weeks to reach the top, with each few days having a guardian to stop any unworthy mortals from reaching the top.
Even if a mortal were to reach the top, there’s a barrier that keeps any mortal from reaching the doors of Velcamige. As years went on, the half-gods began to die out. They had extraordinary powers, but weren’t immortal…
Gavin Sogara was 50 years-old but appeared as 18. As a half-god, he aged much slower than a normal human. The boy walked through the park, watching families eat and chat. That’s when his birthmark began burning. He lifted his sleeve up to reveal what looked like an “R” Inside a sun, almost like a tattoo.
Sogara heard the sounds of screams as citizens rushed past him in agonizing fear. (What’s going on!?” He thought, quickly spinning around to face the disturbance. He saw an undead skeleton in knight armor. Staring at him. The boy was scared but for some reason remained strong while more people continued to run away in terror.
The monster charged him, holding a steel sword with a golden handle. Gavin clinched his fist, preparing to throw the strongest punch he had. “Get ready to die filthy half-breed mortal!” The creature shouted in a deep evil voice. Right as the attacker lifted his sword up to slash it’s target, Sogara threw the strongest punch he could. Instead of his strike knocking the undead enemy back a few feet, his blow sent the villain staggering through the park, smashing into the large oak tree in the center.
The boy was shocked when an abrupt surge of pain rushed through his right hand he had used to attack the skeleton with. It was badly bruised and red, it felt broken since the boy also couldn’t lift it higher than his chest. “Shit, I throw one punch and somehow manage to brake my arm. How did this happen?”
{Flashes back to when he punched the enemy}
(I threw a normal punch with all my strength…I felt a sudden rush of power travel through my body. Then it connected with him, as if the surge shot out of my fist in a massive shockwave)
{End of flashback}
“Strange…could it have something to do with my birthmark burning a moment ago?”
“Well, well…looks like I’ve found you Sogara” The boy noticed a young guy, about early 20’s, approaching him. He had light brown skin with short brown hair and hazel eyes. Gavin clinched his uninjured fist, waiting for the man to attack. “There’s no need to be afraid Gavin. Just like you, I too am a Velcamige born being”
He noticed the boys confusion and sighed responding: “You and I are two of 12 born of Velcamige blood. We are called Velcamiens, but to most humans we’re just called demi or half gods. We are a race of beings with power far stronger than any mortal. That’s why your punch was so powerful, you’ve awakened a hint of your velcamien power. However, your body will take awhile to get used to the kind of strain the power puts on your body. I’m 60 years-old in human years and it took me years to control my god-like abilities”
Gavin nodded trying to process the new information he was told. The man told him his name was Akira Hakuma. They walked through they city until they reached a large fancy house just outside the city on a grassy hill. “Welcome, I call this Velcam manor. Here you may stay with me. I don’t like to sound like a selfish rich man, but I only allow our bloodline and others who are willing to serve and cater us to live here. That may sound snobbish, but I treat the staff very well unlike most upper-class”
Akira allowed his young relative explore all the house except the basement. “There are…things down there that no one should see. Don’t worry about it” Sogara was curious, though decided to go along with it. The first floor had a dining room the size of a cafeteria, a theater including three bedrooms and bathrooms.
Next was the 2nd floor. It had a gym, large pool, mini bowling ally and four bed rooms and bathrooms. Finally was the 3rd and top floor. It had three bedrooms with an equal number of bathrooms. Lastly with a training fancily including a roof that could open, Turing it into a balcony-like area.
“This place is amazing, I’m surprised you were able to own such a home”
“I’m glad you like it. This house was given to me by the previous owner, he decided I should be the one to have it just as he was dying in his hospital bed he had been in for some time. The weak man had no family to pass down his inherence so he saw me as a suitable alternative. He also gave me his family ring” Hakuma lifted his left hand to show his ally a solid gold ring that had a symbol of two crossed swords in the center of it.
Few days later…
Akira was laying on the couch reading a book while Gavin sat at a small desk in the corner, writing down everything his friend had explained to him since they met. Such as: There’s 10 other demi-gods still on earth, along with super-natural capabilities for each Velcamien…
As the young deity closed the notebook and placed it in a drawer, the house shook from an explosion outside. Both warriors made their way outside to find a girl levitating just above the manor. “Who is that?” Sogara asked not taking his eyes off the intruder.
“That’s one of the demi-gods that betrayed us and chose to use their powers for self-gain instead of protecting others. Her name is…Karsa Umako, she’s about 55 years-old, just five years younger than me. I’m not aware of all her abilities, only of her teleportation”
The girl descended down in front of them, her dark brown hair covering her right eye while her left blue eye could be seen. She also wore a dark-purple robe with a symbol of a red skull on the torso of it.
“So…you’ve become a member of the blood death cult? Here I thought you were a lone wolf” Akira commented. The girl smirked as if taking it as a complement. “Poor Hakuma, still wasting your abilities on helping others. Why help those that wouldn’t do the same for you? You’re just wasting time and energy on these worthless mortals”
The man clinched his fist in anger from the girl’s blasphemous tongue. “Enough! We were sent here to protect those that need help. Not use are gifts for our own selfish gain!” Karsa smiled as she brushed her long hair from the right side of her face, that’s when her right eye shot open, unleashing a devastating explosion.
As the smoke cleared, the pair of heroes stood in the ruins of the large yard. The once neatly cut yard was now a large crater of dirt and flames. Sogara stood there, shaking from the agonizing pain. His body covered in blood and bruises. Akira was hurt, but managed to remain on his fight. Gavin on the other hand collapsed from the pain.
“Darn, here I thought he’d be a challenge for me” She taunted. The hero finally had enough. The man leapt toward the girl, throwing a punch right for her face. Seconds before contact, she caught his fist as if it were nothing. “Oh Akira, you never were good at fighting against me as kids, why would it be any different?” She kneed him in the abdomen, pushing him back into the crater.
“Y-you’re horrible…tainting the gifts are father gave us” Hakuma slowly got back up a little off-balance. Karsa began to laugh at him and replied: “Our father? Gifts? You must be deluded if you honestly believe such trash. I was brought to earth but had no one…I was alone. I don’t see our life here on earth as a gift, I see it has a curse away from our real home in Velcamige. Raithen doesn’t deserve to be the king of gods. I joined the blood death to rebel against our father. If you were smart, you’d do the same”
(That attack took a lot out of me…but I need to do something!) Akira clapped his hands together, that’s when duplicates began forming left and right in a perfect line. The hero managed to summon three clones of himself. (In my weakened state, I was only able to create three. Hopefully that will be enough)
The doppelgangers charged their target while their summoner struggled to stand and watch. Sogara on the other hand slowly got up. He was dizzy and hurt, but managed to focus his vision toward the girl. (I’m already hurt…so what’s one full-power attack gonna matter) The boy thought as he clinched his finally healed fist. Gavin observed the battle, waiting for the time to strike.
Meanwhile all three clones were going head to head with Karsa. Two were throwing non-stop punches toward her, yet she either blocked or dogged each coming blow. “Haha! You may not be at full-power Akira, but even for you this is pathetic!” That’s when she vanished.
(That’s right, I forgot she could teleport. So then…where’d she go?) Sogara thought. Just then a wave of light washed over them. Both looked up to see Karsa high in the sky. She had quickly formed a fireball the size of a blimp. Hakuma had his trio fly up to the girl in hopes of stopping the attack.
“Stop this madness! What do you gain from killing us!?” One of the duplicates asked. Umako gave him an annoyed expression. “What I gain is two less fools standing in my way to deal with the tyrant we call father. Now parish along with the boy!” She threw her left hand down, throwing the massive fireball towards the clones and the two heroes below them.
“Shit! I don’t know if my clones are strong enough to stop something that powerful!” Both watched as the three clones threw their arms out, attempting to stop the blazing sphere. The force of the sphere sent shockwaves of power across the ruined land. The trio of duplicates struggled against their target while Umako directed her left hand down at the giant ball of fire. She put more force into her attack, causing it to descend down faster.
Akira called back his clones, realizing they weren’t getting anywhere. That’s when his ally decided to go for it, an all or nothing attack against the coming sphere. Gavin jumped straight into the air, feeling his super-human power surge through him. Hakuma watched in astonishment as the young warrior threw the strongest punch he could once again. The insane force of his blow sent the attack right back at it’s user.
Karsa used the power of her right eye, hoping the force of her explosion would stop the attack. However, the attack caused the ball of fire to blow up in a massive eruption. The man was shocked to see the girl getting blown up by her own attack. She went staggering across the sky, crashing through an office building window. Men and women began evacuating in fear while a man in a suit came over to check on her.
“Miss, are you alright? Suddenly she grabbed him by the throat, setting him ablaze with her fire manipulation. The ones that were left on the high floor they were on, screamed at the sight of their co-worker dead from burns. Karsa took off back towards her opponents, reaching them in moments.
(Crap, crap, crap! My arm is broken again and unable to move more than a few inches. What do we do!?) Gavin looked at his teammate who also didn’t have much left in him. Sogara though hard about how to unlock any of his other hidden abilities. “Akira! How did you unlock your 2nd ability?”
“I meditated and trained at least two hours a day. But in this situation, I don’t know what you can do besides focusing your mental energy” The young boy took a deep breath, focusing on the small amount of energy he had left. Meanwhile Umako stood just a few meters away from them.
“You little shits! I’ll make you pay for this!” The pair noticed that the female’s right eye was kept closed with blood running down her face. Sogara aimed his palm toward their assailant, hoping he could fire Ki from his hand…yet nothing happened. That’s when their attacker ran straight for them, getting ready to attack.
Gavin’s left hand was useless for battle, but he knew if he didn’t do something they’d be killed. He thought about using his right arm but tried with all his strength to move his injured arm. That’s when his left arm lit up in a dark green, his entire arm was abruptly healing itself. “W-what!?” Without thinking, Sogara used his healed fist to punch their opponent just moments before she attacked.
Surprisingly his fist wasn’t as damaged as the other times, this time it was just sore with a few cuts. Once more their enemy was sent back, crashing through the city…They found her out-cold in the street. Akira threw her over his shoulder, heading back to the manor. The man told his young comrade that he’d take her into the basement while the boy rested…
CHAPTER 2 Power Of A mortal
After a day of rest, Gavin sat down on the dark leather couch in the living room and focused his power into his wounded arm. Took about an hour until the boy finally had some control over his rejuvenation ability. He was able to heal a damaged area of his body, but it took most of his concentration and a good amount of stamina.
“Good, seems I can heal myself now. Though, healing would only be possible after fights since it takes a toll om my energy for now. But eventually I should be able to heal myself with ease and little toll” As Sogara switched on the TV he saw a man dead in an apartment as the report was talking outside the rom. He quickly turned it up.
“Witnesses said he was talking about becoming a true god instead of half-god. Something about rising up into Velcamige” Gavin’s eyes widened as he dropped the remote onto the wooden floor. Akira came walking in asking what happened. His friend pointed to the screen. A feeling of anxiousness washed over the man at the sight of the dead victim.
“Arcaus” Hakuma muttered. “Who’s Arcaus?” The young demi-god questioned. His ally stared at him with worried eyes, deciding weather to tell him or not. Finally with a sigh, he decided to tell him.
“Arcaus…is one of the 12 demi-gods. I didn’t really know him that well, but my guess is he tried becoming a Vexin”
“What is that?”
“A Vexin is a myth or legend that if a pure demi-god of Velcamige dies, they’ll be reborn as a pure god instead of a half-god. Some of us 12 or now 11 would say that his death proves the theory irrelevant. However, he killed himself which isn’t a pure death. Also, no one knows the kind of life he had so this neither proves nor disproves anything. My advice? Help as many humans as you can. Even if they don’t seem like they’re not worth helping”
The young warrior nodded as they sat on the couch relaxing…
Meanwhile…
Umako awoke in a dark room inside some kind of containment room. It was square made from some kind of metal. Still weak, she struck the wall of her cage-like box with all the force she had. A loud echo from her punch rang out through the dark room. Suddenly an electric pulse shot into the inside of her small prison. The amount of electricity caused her to collapse back onto the cold metal floor.
“D-damn it, there’s gotta be a way to get out of here!” An abrupt noise could be heard a few feet away. With her inch of strength, she slowly got up to see Akira walking down the stairs, turning on the lights. “What do you want?” She groaned trying to keep her balance.
“Are you done trying to kill us and go after us?”
“Never! Both you and our father deserve death!” She shouted. Finally Hakuma had enough and decided to use his hidden ability…”Very well, I’ll show you my fourth power that I’ve rarely had to use since I don’t like to use it and it takes all my stamina” That’s when he pressed a red button on the side of the metal tank. A beep rang out as it was lifted up, off of Karsa.
She knew she had no strength to fight. “Go on…do it already!” She yelled as tears ran down her face. The man moved right up to her, placing his palm on the girl’s face. A golden light filled the entire basement before going out just moments after. Hakuma let go, falling to his knees out of breath.
“That was your secret power? A light!?” Hearing her comment, the man began to laugh. This made Umako angry. She aimed her shaking hand toward her demi-brother. “I’ll at least burn you!”…But no flame would appear. “What is this!? Am I too weak to create a mere flame!?”
“Hehe, that’s not it. I sealed your powers away and only I can bring them back out. You’re probably wondering how it’s even possible to just seal away another’s capabilities…It’s actually really simple, the body has energy that flows through their veins. I can interrupt the super-natural mana within your body to lock your powers away”
She clinched her fist in anger from losing the factor that made her unique from all the other mortals. That’s when Akira grabbed her by the collar of her cloak. “Your demi-god endurance is also gone. If I were to attack you here and now, you’d have a fraction of a chance to survive the attack. Lucky for you I’m not a heartless killer. I have morals”

The warrior tossed her over to the stairs telling her to leave and live as a mortal for her harsh actions. She ran up the stairs, out of the manor while Akira came up stairs and locked the door. “At least we don’t have to deal with her any more” The boy was unsure of what had happened but just went along with it.
2 Months Later…
The pair of super-humans were sitting outside a restaurant enjoying their lunch when a car came sailing towards them from above. There were humans too close to the impact point for both of them to dodge. Using his incredible strength, Sogara threw a devastating blow right back at the coming vehicle. The light red car went laughing into the air from the overwhelming force of the hero’s attack. Citizens took cover while the youthful warrior ascended into the air, chasing the car before it could do any serious damage.
Meanwhile a pale boy with black hair slid to the side came into view from the other side of the street. He wore black battle gear with a black scarf. “Hello, Akira…been too long. I’d say it’s been 30 years since we last seen each other” Hakuma looked at him confused but kept his guard up.
“Who are you again?” The warrior asked unsure who this stranger was. “How rude, here I thought you of all people would remember me. It’s me…Jaycen Kilona” Suddenly a car came down the street as Jaycen walked across the street over to his target before stopping in the center of the road.
“Get off the road jerk!” The driver yelled in a black muscle car. Without even glancing at him, the boy shot a blast of purple lightning that caused the mortal’s vehicle to explode. Car parts went shooting in random directions while the tyrant stood there unaffected at the thought he had killed an innocent human.
“How could you!? That man just wanted to reach his destination!”
“He was interrupting my business with you. I could’ve attacked you soon, but I decided to wait for the right moment. When I found out you took Karsa’s powers, I knew it was time to take action. You have no right to take the abilities away from us when they were given to us by our father”
“Enough of this pointless talk, I’m going to stop you just as I did Umako!” Akira charged the assailant, instantly creating two duplicates to go ahead of him at the last second. Even with his clones throwing blows head-on at full power, they couldn’t keep up with the young demi-god’s speed. That’s when Kilona unleashed an electric pulse that caused the duplicates to disappear while also forcing Hakuma back with painful waves of lightning.
(D-damn it, how many other Velcamige gods are stronger than me?) Just than Jaycen was slammed to the ground from a catastrophic level of power. Hakuma saw his ally standing over the villain in a large crater.
“Nice surprise attack, but you’ll need more than that to take me out” They watched as the pale foe rose to his feet with just a few cuts and some dirt on his face. “I’ll show you how a real demi-god fights when it’s power is in the hands of a master”
An abrupt strike of lightning came down, striking the boy. His body surged with a vast amount of energy. “Behold lesser gods, this is me at 50%. Now let’s see how long you both last against this kind of power!” Jaycen’s speed had multiplied to such a degree, Sogara had no time to react.
The tyrant struck his target with a barrage of fast blows. That’s when he vanished. “W-what happened?” Akira commented in uneasiness. He watched as his ally face planted out cold. “Gavin! Shit, where’s the target!?” The warrior looked around, only seeing small convenient stores and citizens running in fear. Turning around, he found Kilona standing behind him with his arms crossed.
A smirk arose across his face as his body light up with pink light…Sogara awoke to his teammate shaking him. “Are you ok Gavin? I was worried the boy had finished you off with all those blows” Letting out a few weak coughs, the young deity assured him that he was ok. Gavin sat in one of the still standing chairs in the outside dinning area of the restaurant.
They looked around, the road was cracked apart, a few cars were flipped over and the eating place was a mess with tables and chairs flung around. “So…how did you defeat him Akira? He seemed far more powerful than both of us”
“Don’t worry, I managed to get ahold of his face and seal his abilities off just before he could attack.
[Flash Back]
“He was getting ready to use another ability, his body was glowing pink. Luckily I had just enough time to grab him by the face just in time”
[End Of Flash Back]
“Let’s just go relax for awhile” Hakuma suggested. Both flew off through the city until they reached a bowling ally. The duo decided to go up against another team that was part of a bowling league his name was Doran.
“Let’s see what you got” He said dressed in a blue collar t-shirt and black pants. Sogara was up first. He gribbed the ball carefully controlling his god-like strength. (Alright, I can do this) The boy rolled his bowling ball down the lane, it rolled so fast it knocked over all the pins easily. Akira smirked as he applauded his partner.
“Looks like it’s my turn” Hakuma announced as he got up from his small table in front of their lane. Doran and his team watched at their table as their 2nd opponent approached the lane, grabbing a dark-blue ball. “Watch this” All of them watched as he spiraled the ball down the lane. It was about to go into the right gutter when it suddenly changed course, right for the center of the pins. “What do you know…another strike”
Their captain rose up from his seat, getting out his special bowling ball. It was glittery and purple. Kinda like a picture of space. “I’ll show you both that you’re not the only ones that can get strikes!” The man wiped the sweat from his forehead, quickly tossing his ball down the lane. It rolled perfectly down the path, knocking all the pins down as well…
An Hour Later…
Doran’s team was just a strike away from winning the game. It was his turn once again. The bowling league leader once more rolled his ball down the aisle, it rolled towards the pins and knocked all but one down. The final pin swayed side to side when it abruptly regained it’s balance.
Hakuma laughed softly into his hand while the rival team sighed in defeat. Doran slammed his fist on the table in anger but said nothing. “Alright Sogara, let’s go home” His friend nodded as they left and went back to the manor. Days went by, Gavin spent his days either training to boost his powers, or relaxing by watching TV or exploring the city.
Sometimes during a duel, Sogara could feel a strange power coming from his partner. But he would just shrug it off as his imagination. One day his was reading through his note book and read his notes about the three demi-gods he took notes on. One had died, Jaycen was presumed dead even though Akira never showed him the body and Karsa had her powers sealed away. For now…He saw it as nine Velcamins left. With seven still unknown and missing.
“Most of our blood siblings had come to us, but it might be time to search for them ourselves” Sogara closed the book and headed over to the theater where his friend laid in a recliner chair watching an action movie. “Hey Akira, what are you watching?”
“It’s a great fantasy called: Inner-Self. It’s about a group of teens that have an awaking of their hidden potential. You should watch it, it’s pretty good”
“Maybe later, I came here to see if you’d help me find any of the other seven remaining mortal gods”
“Actually there’s only six demi-gods left” The man replied, not taking his eyes from the large screen. “What do you mean? Another brother or sister died recently!?” His ally took a deep breath and sighed. “Yes, it was a girl name Jasmine Ioda. She had the ability to manipulate nature. Sadly she died not long ago”
Gavin asked him who killed her, but Akira told him he didn’t want to talk about it any longer. When the boy tried to get him to answer, the man just ignored him completely. Finally Sogara just decided to look for any of the remaining six alone. He soared through the sky, looking everywhere he could while asking citizens every now and then if there had been any strange occurrences in their area.
Finally after the sun was going down, a women dressed in jean overalls told him there was something strange happening in the deep part of the swamp just outside their town. The hero thanked her before flying through the opening of trees leading to the swamp. There were tons of trees and vines in the large swamp. It made flying difficult for the boy.
Soon it was too dark for him to even fly. So Gavin was forced to walk through the muddy water of the swamp. After 20 minutes of trudging through the water, he found a house made out of vegetation and mud. As the young god approached the hut, a green light came from the window. That’s when Gavin found himself trapped inside a barrier of green mana.
Suddenly the door opened with a blonde-haired girl standing there. Here hair was a mess with a few leaves in it. She wore clothing made out of plants. Even though it was dark, Gavin though her eyes were also blue. “What do you want wit us, what are you doing here?”
“My name is Gavin Sogara, I’m a son of Raithen of Velcamige. I’ve come looking for my fellow brothers and sisters to meet them” The girl stared at him intensely before lowering her hand. Gavin fell onto the wooden porch of the house.
“My name is Ginzel Ginzel. Our brother is out gathering supplies, but he shouldn’t be gone for too much longer. He normally comes back just before dark” After about 15 minutes, her ally finally returned with large amounts of firewood and fruit from trees that grew just outside the swamp.
“I’m back Arena. Who is this?”
“This is our brother Gavin Sogara. He’s come looking for the remaining siblings of Raithen, our father” She answered as she brushed her messy hair out of her face. The man had pale skin with dark-blue hair. Also his eyes were hazel. The man wore armor made out of plants and wood.
“Welcome, my name is Kiaro Tonako. I am the 2nd oldest son of the 12. Now…why is it you want to find the others? Not all of them are nice like us”
“I’ve already noticed that. Two have already attacked me and Akira. I thought this time I’d be the one to find them instead” At that moment, a wave of fire came rushing through the swamp, setting everything a blaze. All three looked up to see a figure high above them, unleashing blasts of flames. “Speaking of evil relatives” Sogara commented. The pair were shocked that one of the evil siblings could find them so easily.
“I’ll handle the flames, you two take care of our attacker!” The boy ordered. The duo nodded and ascended up into the sky, heading for the assailant. With all his strength, Gavin made a powerful clap. The force of his hands caused most of the blazing swamp to go out. Leaving just a few flames out in the distance.
Meanwhile Kiaro and his sister were face to face with the tyrant. “Savannah!? But I thought you wanted to use your powers to help mortals!? You said: “I will devote my life to helping those that are in need and deserve my help”
“Yes that is correct…However, I see no mortal worthy of my help. I’ve been talking with Jaycen. He’s opened my eyes, that these mortals or merely lower-class beings that only take and abuse other humans. Most of their problems come from their own actions or flaws. I have no need to waste my time with such trash!”
Savannah had long dark purple hair with pink eyes. She wore a black leather battle suit. Arena made a triangle with her hands, suddenly their sister was sealed within a diamond-shaped energy barrier. “Heh, nice try, but you’ll have to try harder than his!” She threw her arms out in opposite directions. The force of her power caused the energy field to shatter like glass.
“Fine, Kiaro let’s go!” The pair nodded at each other with serious expressions before turning their attention back on their attacker. Ginzel clapped her hands together, causing large branches and roots to wrap around her arms and legs, hoping to trap her in place. Her brother held his left palm up, creating blades made out of Ki.
“Take this!” He threw his arm forward, causing the 10 energy blades to rush straight for her. Just as it seemed inevitable for her escape, Savannah unleashed a vast amount of fire, causing the vegetation holding her to burn away. The first blade pierced her cheek, while the others missed her by just moments.
“Damn, I was sure that would work” Ginzel commented. Her brother groaned in annoyance. That’s when Sogara flew up to the group, right next to Tonako and Arena. “You should’ve known plants wouldn’t hold me after you saw my power over fire. It’s time for my next attack!” The woman summoned a wall of flames that spiraled like a tornado.
The trio found themselves in the eye of the flaming storm. “I think I can get us out of this” Gavin commented. With all his force, the hero threw a punch in the opposite direction of the rotating storm. Both watched as it began to slow down. “Nice try, but let’s see you escape this!” Savannah reformed the flames into a sphere large enough to contain the three warriors, sending the orb into space with a thrust of her hand. With the flames blazing around him, along with the void of space, their oxygen ran out quickly.
Down on earth, Savanah watched in excitement that she had proved her superiority. That’s when Akira appeared behind her. “You come to watch their last few moments?” She asked still looking up at the sky. “No, I’ve come to stop you. I still need the boy alive, I don’t care about the others” That’s when Hakuma aimed his hand in the direction of the trio up in space.
“Transport!” In an abrupt ray of blue light, the three warriors landed on the ground below the two levitating duo. The girl sighed crossing her arms. “Why ruin the fun Jaycen? We could’ve finished them off with ease” Below them, Sogara was dizzy from the lack of oxygen in space, but still aware of what was going on around him.
(J-Jaycen? I thought Akira killed him during our fight) The weakened warrior slowly looked up to see Hakuma and Savannah right above them. “Wait a minute” Focusing his ability to feel another’s flow of energy, he realized that the strange feeling he got while training with Akira wasn’t his imagination.
A person’s energy within their body could be one of three colors, one being blue. This color aura meant the person was pure with good intentions. Next was a purple aura. This symbolized as a warrior who was neutral, neither good nor evil. Lastly was the red aura. This meant the being was truly evil with no sense of purity or good feelings within them.
Feeling Jaycen’s aura, he had a purple aura with a hint of red. “Damn it! How could I be fooled so easily!? I have to stop them before my allies die!” Taking a slow breath, his body healed with an outline of green. He was healed but it took some of his stamina to do so. The young fighter looked behind him to see his teammates slowly getting up from their dizziness.
Sogara ascended up right for the two enemies. Flying at full speed, the demi-god made a fist preparing to attack with everything he had. Moments before he could attack, Jaycen turned around, striking him in the abdomen with brutal force. The boy froze from such a counter-attack. He looked down to see the tyrant’s fist had gone right through his target’s stomach.
“Too bad little boy. If you’d played dead, you may have lived longer” Jaycen pulled his fist out of his victim’s abdomen, letting the boy hit the ground with a hole in the center of his stomach. “No! Gavin!” The pair cried out. Arena in full blown rage, caused every single plant to grow rapidly and wrap around the two tyrants.
The containment of so many vines and roots were so large it was as big as a massive oak tree. “Use it Kiaro!” The man flung his hand up, causing the earth beneath the vegetation to rise up over them, sealing them in a colossal dome of earth. “Hopefully that’ll buy us some time to come up with a better strategy”
Meanwhile Gavin was at the brink of death, he had lost a great amount of blood. They were demi-gods, but their bodies were still mortal. Tonako told the boy to stay with them while Ginzel focused on the dome of rock. Sadly, Sogara succumb to his fatal injury, laying there motionless…
The boy opened his eyes to find himself at a large golden gate. “Isn’t this the gate to Velcamige?” An abrupt quake could be heard as the giant doors opened. Looking behind him, the boy could only see a white void. Only the door was visible. Gavin slowly walked through the door, analyzing his surrounds as he walked past the entrance.
The sky was filled with golden clouds while the street was a tan brick path. It looked like a small village you’d see in Japan. As he continued his path he saw a man standing on the top step of a large mansion. He instantly knew who it was. “F-father…is that you?” The man nodded. He had dark blue hair, blue eyes and wore golden armor.
“Welcome home my son. I’m sorry you were killed so soon. Especially with you being the youngest of all my children” Suddenly Sogara realized what was going on back on earth. “I’m sorry father, I wanted to meet you, but I feel I need to go back and help my brother and sister Arena and Kiaro. I may’ve died, but I don’t want them to share the same fate!”
Raithen pondered for a moment then replied: “Very well, you have proved yourself as one of the pure children and for that I shall give you two rewards. First, you will be resurrected back to your body and 2nd I will awaken the other half of your god heritage. That way you will be a full god and immortal. It should be enough to help your brother and sister while punishing the other two for causing such terrible sins on their own bloodline”
“Thank you father” Sogara responded as he bowed with respect. His father walked down the staircase, over to his son. Slowly the man placed his palm against the boy’s chest. That’s when Gavin felt his heart begin to beat once more. It went black before he found himself back on earth. The dome hadn’t been destroyed, but Jaycen in Akira’s body had Kiaro by the throat.
“Heh, you might’ve been able to trap our sister, but you forget I have the ability to teleport” That’s when he felt a great power nearby. Jaycen turned to see Gavin getting up, his wound was gone as if it were never there. A golden light surrounded the young boy’s body. The villain let go of his victim. Sogara stared at Kiaro’s body, he was still breathing so the man was still alive.
“You’ve caused enough pain to our bloodline Jaycen” The awakened god stood in front of their current threat. “You might have awakened a great amount of power, but you’re still nothing compared to me!” The tyrant took off at full velocity, striking his target at such speed and force, the swamp shook from such power. However, no matter how much he struck his opponent, it was ineffective.
“It can’t be. I know my attacks are connecting, but he doesn’t look injured at all!”
“It’s my turn to show you the power our father bestowed upon me” Suddenly Jaycen was struck repeatedly with incredible force. Each blow sent a shockwave throughout the swamp. Kiaro was forced back by the intensity of such high tier attacks. Sogara’s blows were so fast, the god appeared standing still to it’s target. Finally the hero halted his attack, standing motionless.
Blood ran down his mouth as he shook in pain. “Y-you little shit” The villain face planted. Walking over, Sogara checked the body’s pulse…Alright, seems he’s just barley alive. Now, let’s see if I can separate Jaycen from Akira’s body” Closing his eyes, the god focused on the body’s energy. He could faintly feel his ally’s life force within Jaycen’s Ki.
Gavin proceeded to transfer his own Ki inside the Akira’s body. With his power within the body’s energy flow, he used his own to separate Jaycen from Hakuma’s body. Ginzel watched as a red beam of light came out from Akira. Jaycen stood there silent. “It’s over brute” With one punch, the hero sent him staggering through the sky like a shooting star.
That’s when Sogara appeared a few meters in front of the soaring foe. Gavin back-handed him into a large field. The man laid in a large crater before succumbing to the immense wounds. “I may be over-powered, but that fool needed to be delt with. Oh, I almost forgot about Savannah. Though, she should still be trapped within the rock and vines. If it wasn’t for his power of teleportation, Jaycen would probably still be sealed within the dome”
Moving at nearly light speed, the deity descended down to the large earth prison. Checking his allies real quick, Kiaro was resting with Arena next to a large rock while Hakuma was out cold from the immense injuries he received while being possessed by their foe. “Alright, seems all three of them are still alive. All that’s left is to defeat Savannah.
The colossal rock had scorch marks around the cracks meaning the woman was using her fire manipulation to try and burn through the rock. But even with the plants inside with her, it wasn’t enough to free her. “I’m sorry sis, but it’s time to end this” Placing his palm against the rock, he sent a massive amount of power through the prison. In an abrupt shockwave, the formed earth broke apart in a devastating burst. Sogara saw his sister laying there in the ruins. He felt her pulse but there was nothing. (I’m not proud of it, but they abused their gifts and looked down on all others. So they didn’t deserve to have their gifts)
“At least you’re all safe. Arena, I need you to watch Akira until he gets better. Once he’s well, he will invite you back to his manor so you two can live better”
“What about you?” She questioned. That’s when Gavin’s body begun to break apart like small pieces of blue glass. “I have to return to the after life. I only came back to save you three. Sogara was surprised to see tears running down his sister’s face. She hugged him tightly as he vanished.
The young god returned to Velcamige with his father waiting. “You have done well Gavin and for that, you will receive my final gift…”
