Chapter 3 the journey begins

Chapter 3 the journey begins

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the village, the sckool day came to an end. Dyck, with his mind still captivated by the tales shared by Hamsa, found himself drawn back to the tranquil lake. In an absent-minded state, he waddled into the water, quacking softly as he recounted the stories, completely mesmerized by the adventure that lay ahead for everyone.

"Oh, what wonders await beyond these shores! quack"

Dyck exclaimed, his feathers ruffling with excitement.

"I can almost hear the distant call of mighty beasts and the rustle of untamed foliage. A grand adventure, indeed!"

The other ducks nearby exchanged puzzled glances at Dyck's animated quacking, unsure of what had gotten into their feathery friend. One of them, a rather pompous mallard named Oswald, couldn't resist the opportunity to poke fun at Dyck's enthusiasm.

"Well, well, look who's got his feathers all in a flutter,"

Oswald quipped, his voice dripping with mock seriousness.

"Please tell, Dyck, are you planning to conquer the lake? Or perhaps you've discovered a hidden treasure trove of breadcrumbs?"

Dyck turned to Oswald, a mischievous glint in his eye.

"Oh, dear Oswald, you underestimate the power of imagination! While you waddle about in your mundane pursuits, I shall venture forth into the great Featherland, where legends are born and ducks become heroes!"

Oswald let out a hearty chuckle, his feathers ruffling in amusement.

"Well, my feathered friend, if anyone can transform a simple stroll by the lake into an epic tale, it's you. Just remember to keep an eye out for those treacherous bread crusts."

Dyck nodded, his determination shining through his vibrant plumage.

"Fear not, dear Oswald, for I shall overcome any crust-related challenges that come my way. The call of adventure awaits, and I shall answer it with gusto! quack"

With his spirits lifted by the banter, Dyck plunged further into the lake, his quacks growing bolder and more melodious. He couldn't help but imagine the untamed wilderness beyond the safety of the village, filled with mysteries to unravel and feats to accomplish. The very thought set his heart aflutter, filling his tiny webbed feet with an irresistible rhythm.

As the moon ascended, casting its silvery glow upon the rippling waters, Dyck embraced the thrill of the unknown. With every quack and every splash, he embraced the spirit of adventure, ready to take his place among the legends and heroes that awaited him in the world beyond.

Meanwhile at the same time, in a flurry of excitement, Gary hurried back to his humble abode, bursting through the door with a vivacity that caught his father off guard. Startled, his father raised an eyebrow, his wise eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Father, oh father! You must listen to the tale Hamsa spoke of,"

Gary exclaimed, his words tumbling out in a jumble.

"Hamsa, the wise bird, has regaled us with tales of artifacts and grand adventures!

Gary's father chuckled heartily his feathers ruffled in mirth.

"Ah, my dear lad, your spirit soars like a free-spirited gull on the wind. I can see the fire in your eyes, burning brighter than a summer's sunset. But do you truly believe in these tales?"

Gary's enthusiasm faltered for a moment, a flicker of doubt passing through his feathers. But then, with a mischievous glint in his eye, he replied,

"Father, do you not know that dreams and reality are but threads woven together in the tapestry of life? Even if these tales are naught but whimsy, the journey itself holds the promise of mirth and camaraderie. And besides, who knows what laughter we may find along the way?"

His father's eyes softened with paternal pride his voice filled with fondness.

"Ah, my dear boy, your zest for life is as refreshing as a cool breeze on a hot summer's day."

With a nod and a smile, Gary embraced his father, their feathers intermingling in a tender moment of understanding. The two shared a heartfelt chuckle, reveling in the warmth of their bond.

And so, Gary, the spirited young gosling, prepared himself for the escapades that awaited him, with his heart brimming with excitement and his father's words echoing in his mind, Gary embarked on his path to adventure.

On the other side of the lake, Stella her eyes shining with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Excitement and trepidation mingled in her voice as she approached her mother, speaking in hushed tones. Her words were delicately woven, carrying the weight of earnestness.

"Mama, dearest, Oh-Oh"

Stella began, her words delicately woven,

"I have been blessed with a tale that has ignited a fire within me. Hamsa, the wise old bird, has unveiled secrets of artifacts and adventures untold."

Her mother, a paragon of grace and wisdom, listened attentively, her brow furrowed with concern. She caressed Stella's wing, her touch tender yet firm.

"My child,"

she spoke softly, her voice resonating with a mother's love,

"The road ahead, before this adventure unfolds, is fraught with uncertainties and perils. Are you prepared for the challenges that may lie in wait? And what of the time it may consume, this journey of yours? "

Determination shimmered in Stella's eyes as she met her mother's gaze, unyielding in her pursuit.

Her mother, heart filled with a mixture of pride and concern, observed her daughter's resolve. After a moment of contemplation, she nodded, with a gentle smile, Stella's mother lovingly placed a hand on her daughter's cheek. She could see the fire of determination burning in Stella's eyes, but her concern outweighed her pride.

"My dear Stella," she said, her voice filled with motherly affection,

"Your thirst for knowledge is admirable, but it is late, and you are tired. Perhaps this tale has filled your mind, and you are not thinking with your usual clarity."

Stella's excitement wavered, and she blinked, realizing the exhaustion that had crept upon her. She leaned into her mother's touch, feeling the weariness settle in her bones.

"You are right, Mama," Stella conceded with a yawn. "I am tired, and perhaps I let my enthusiasm cloud my judgment."

Her mother smiled tenderly and gently guided Stella towards her cozy nest.

"Rest now, my dear," she said softly.

"Dream of grand adventures and ancient artifacts. Tomorrow, with a fresh mind, we can discuss this tale further."

Stella nodded, grateful for her mother's wisdom. As she nestled into her nest, her eyes grew heavy, and her mind drifted into dreams of the wonders that awaited her.

With that moon walk its path and the dawn of the next day arrive

The next day, as the first light of dawn painted the sky with soft hues of pink and orange, the trio reunited at the schoolyard. Gary's eyes gleamed with the same ambition that had sparked in him the previous day. Dyck, looking slightly flustered, waddled over to them, while Stella stood composed, her eyes still shining with a thirst for knowledge.

Gary couldn't contain his excitement any longer and beckoned the other two to follow him to the corner of the ancient tree that stood tall in the yard. Curious, Dyck and Stella agreed, wondering what had sparked such enthusiasm in their friend.

As they reached the corner of the tree, they noticed Gary's eyes fixed intently on the distant horizon. Dyck tried to jump and see what had captivated Gary's attention, but alas, there was nothing unusual in sight. Gary turned his gaze back to his friends, a determined yet hushed expression on his face.

"I want to go on the journey to find the artifact that Hamsa told us about," Gary said in a low voice, almost a whisper, but his passion was palpable.

He asked Dyck and Stella if they would accompany him on this grand adventure, one that could make them the legends of the village, just like Oliver the wise old owl.

Dyck quacked with excitement, eager to be a part of something so daring and thrilling. Stella, the serious and contemplative one, nodded in agreement, her mind racing with thoughts of the knowledge she might gain on this journey.

But then Stella brought up an important point remembering Hamsa words,

"Do your parents know about this, Gary?"

Gary's eyes dropped to the ground in shame and fear, and he quietly replied,

"No, they don't."

Stella gently reminded him,

"We need to seek permission from our parents and from Hamsa. This adventure is not to be taken lightly."

Gary's enthusiasm dimmed slightly, realizing the responsibility that came with embarking on such a grand quest. Stella continued, listing out what they needed to prepare before setting out:

"First, we must seek permission from our parents and Hamsa.

Second, we need Hamsa's guidance for the adventure, as he knows more about the artifact than anyone else.

Third, we must acquire charts of Featherland to aid us in our journey.

Fourth, I would like to visit my aunt and cousin along the way, as they might aid us in our journey. And

Fifth, we need to prepare essential food and supplies for our long expedition."

Dyck, initially confused, quacked in agreement with Stella, realizing the importance of planning for such an undertaking. Gary, though contemplative, found encouragement in Stella's wise words.

"You are right, Stella," Gary said, his eyes reflecting a newfound determination.

"We must approach this journey responsibly and with careful preparation. Let's do this right, and with the blessings of our parents and Hamsa, we shall embark on the grandest adventure our village has ever known!"

With their minds set, the trio promised each other that they would begin their preparations and seek the necessary approvals. As the sun continued its descent, the three friends embark together on their separate way, ready to take on the challenges that awaited them on their quest for the ancient artifact that lay hidden in the unexplored corners of Featherland.

As Dyck move, his round body fidgeted under the pressure of seeking permission from his mother. He knew he had promised his friends that he would get her approval, but the idea of venturing beyond the familiar waters of the village filled him with both excitement and anxiety. Anxiety that his mother will reject his request and excitement toward the new world. As he approached his mother, he quacked softly, trying to find the right words.

With his heart pounding, Dyck waddled towards his mother, his round body fidgeting nervously under the weight of seeking permission.

"Mama," he quacked softly,

"I, um, seek your permission to go on an adventure with Hamsa, Gary, and Stella."

His mother turned to him with a gentle smile, sensing his anxiousness.

"An adventure, my little one?" she asked, her voice filled with warmth and curiosity.

"Yes, Mama," Dyck replied, his voice still quivering,

"We want to explore the area around the village under Hamsa's guidance. He said it would be a great learning experience, and we promise to stay together and be safe."

His mother paused, deep in thought, as Dyck's nerves got the better of him, causing him to fidget even more. But just then, his elder brother, Druck, stepped in to help.

"Mama, it's a wonderful opportunity for Dyck to learn about the village and its surroundings," Druck said with a reassuring tone.

"Hamsa is wise, and they'll be careful. Besides, Dyck will make sure they have enough food."

Hearing his brother's supportive words, Dyck felt a wave of relief wash over him. His mother looked at him and smiled.

"Alright, my little adventurer," she said,

"You have my permission, but promise me you'll be careful and stay with Hamsa and your friends."

Dyck's face lit up with joy, and he hurriedly promised to be responsible and cautious. With his mother's approval, he felt a newfound confidence and excitement welling up inside him.

Meanwhile, Gary's enthusiasm had led him straight to his home, where he found his father in the backyard tending to the vegetable garden. Nervously, he tiptoed behind his father, took a deep breath, and then mustered the courage to speak.

"Dadi," Gary began, his voice slightly shaky,

"I seek thy permission to embark on an adventure with Hamsa as our guide. Dyck, Stella, and I plan to journey together, exploring the nearby area."

Gary's father turned around, a curious smile forming on his beak. He listened intently to his son's request, knowing how much this opportunity meant to him. His heart swelled with paternal pride, seeing the eagerness in Gary's eyes.

"Ah, my brave little gosling," he said, ruffling Gary's feathers affectionately,

"I know how much you yearn for this adventure. But remember, with great freedom comes great responsibility. Promise me you will stay close to Hamsa, and look out for your friends."

Gary nodded vigorously, his eyes shining with determination.

"I promise, Dad! We'll be careful, and we'll learn so much!"

His father's expression softened, and he chuckled,

"Very well, my adventurous one. You have my permission, but be sure to take all the necessary precautions. And don't forget to pack enough food and supplies."

Ecstatic, Gary couldn't contain his joy and jumped into his father's arms, nearly knocking him over with his muddy feathers. Both father and son laughed heartily, their bond growing stronger in the face of this new journey.

On the other End of the village, Stella approached her mother, who had just finished her night bath. With determination in her gaze and a touch of flattery,

Stella spoke, "Mama, you are as beautiful as the swan that glides gracefully in the moonlight."

Her mother, pleasantly surprised by the compliment, asked what had brought about such sweet words from her daughter. Stella hugged her mother tightly and shared her desire to visit her aunt and cousin while going on an adventure with her friends under Hamsa's guidance. they will explore the nearby lands, and she promise to stay safe and return within 30 sun and moon cycles.

Her mother looked at her daughter with a mix of surprise and pride, moved by Stella's compliment and her determination to learn. She knew her daughter's thirst for knowledge and understood the significance of this journey.

Her mother listened carefully to Stella's plans and, knowing her daughter's tenacity, decided to grant her permission.

"Alright, my dear Stella," she said,

"You have my approval. But you must take all necessary precautions and be safe throughout your journey and don’t forget to tell your aunt that i miss her"

Overjoyed, by her mother approval Stella began to sing a melodious tune, a song of gratitude and happiness for her mother's approval. As she sang, the moon seemed to dance, and the stars sparkled brighter in the night sky, as if celebrating her upcoming adventure.

With all three friends now having gained permission from their parents, they knew their grand adventure was about to begin. Excitement filled the air as they met by the sckool once again, ready to meet hamsa. As the sckool day come to an end, the trio of friends, Dyck, Gary, and Stella, found themselves lingering by the sckool yard. With a glimmer of determination in her eyes, Stella stepped forward and took charge, addressing her friends.

"Listen, everyone," she began, her voice steady and confident.

"We have been blessed with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to embark on a grand adventure. Hamsa, the wise old bird, has shared tales of Featherland's treasures and the adventures that await us."

Dyck and Gary nodded, their hearts racing with excitement.

Stella continued, "I believe we should seek Hamsa's guidance and wisdom on the journey he undertook in his youth to find the treasure in Featherland. We must also acquire a chart of Featherland to aid us on our quest."

With unwavering determination, Stella looked around at her friends, who eagerly agreed with her proposal. Dyck quacked softly, and Gary added,

"Yes, we must be well-prepared for this adventure, and Hamsa guidance can lead us through the unknown lands."

With their resolve strengthened, the trio decided to wait until evening when the sckool yard would be empty, and Hamsa would be more likely to be available for their meeting. Hours passed, and the sun dipped towards the horizon. As the sky turned shades of orange and pink, the friends gathered once again at the sckool yard. This time, they found themselves alone, surrounded only by the gentle rustle of leaves and the fading light.

Stella took a deep breath, summoning her courage, and looked up at the sky. "Hamsa,"

She called out, her voice strong and unwavering, "we seek your guidance and wisdom on the adventure you spoke of."

For a moment, there was silence, and the friends waited with bated breath. Suddenly, a gust of wind swept through the air, causing their feathers to ruffle. And there, descending gracefully from the sky, was Hamsa, his wise eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Well, well, well," Hamsa said with a Knowing smile,

"I see the three of you are quite determined. It takes courage to seek the unknown and pursue knowledge. But do you know how perilous the path you seek can be?"

The trio exchanged glances, and Stella replied with conviction,

"We are well aware of the dangers, Hamsa. We have sought the approval of our parents and have taken this decision responsibly. We only seek your approval and guidance on this adventure."

Hamsa looked at them with a mix of admiration and concern. "Very well,"

He said, "you have shown determination and responsibility. "

With that, Hamsa disappeared for a moment, leaving the trio in awe. Soon, he returned, carrying a chart of Featherland and an adventure guide in his beak. He placed them gently before the friends.

"All that you seek is in this chart and guide," Hamsa said, his voice gentle yet resolute.

"But remember, the journey ahead will not be easy. You must bid farewell to your parents, friends, and neighbors, for this adventure will take time and perseverance."

The trio nodded their spirits undeterred. Hamsa continued,

"Always be true to yourselves, and take care of each other. The path you tread is one of wonder and danger, but it is also a path of discovery and growth."

With his guidance and approval, Hamsa wished them well on their journey, and the trio vowed to be prepared for the adventure of a lifetime. As the sun set, they bid their farewells to Hamsa and began their preparations for the journey, eager to set forth on the third dawn from now. Next day as the sun started to walk its daily path in the sky, the village began to stir awake. The trio of friends had spent the time leading up to the third dawn in diligent preparation. Stella had meticulously studied the adventure guide and familiarized herself with the chart of Featherland. Gary had packed essential supplies, including a chart, food, and some treasures he had collected over the years. Dyck had gathered goodies from his mother, making sure they wouldn't go hungry during their journey.

As the day of their departure arrived, we see the audacious one, Bungle, the audacious rooster, couldn't resist his habit or alarming other to wake up. Climbing the centermost tree in the village, he crowed with gusto, asserting his presence and importance to the Village.

But as he crowed, his attention was drawn to an unusual sight - A little goose running towards the village entrance, stopping there as if taunting him for being late. This was a sight Bungle had never seen before, and his feathers ruffled with annoyance. How dare a goose be more punctual than him!

Meanwhile, Gary, having reached the village gate, eagerly waited for his friends to arrive. His heart pounded with anticipation as he imagined the grand adventure that lay ahead. As he stood there, he heard Bungle's crowing and knew that his friends wouldn't be far behind.

With excitement building up, Gary started to dream with open eyes about the treasures, the berries mountain that hr will wish for, and the wonders he would encounter. As time ticked by, his eagerness began to make him fidget. He wondered if he should wait a little longer or start out on his own. Maybe his friends would catch up with him later.

Just then, Gary's eyes caught a glimpse of a majestic swan flying out of the village. Mistaking it for Stella in ignorance, he assumed she was starting the adventure early and decided to chase after her. Unbeknownst to him, Stella was still in the village, listening to her mother's words of wisdom and preparing for the journey.

As Gary raced after the swan, In sometime Dyck arrived at the village gate, carrying his baggage filled with goodies and the love of Mama Dyck. Expecting to find his friends waiting, he was puzzled to see no one there. So, he decided to inquire from Bungle and Reginald, who were lazing under the tree.

"Dyck, my feathered friend, what brings you here?" Reginald asked with a charming smile, clearly distracted by the presence of a female peacock among a group of swans.

"I'm looking for Gary and Stella," Dyck replied, extending his tiny leg towards them.

Reginald denied having seen them, still focused on trying to impress the peacock, while Bungle smirked and implied that he knew something. Curious, Dyck urged Bungle to share what he knew.

With a mischievous glint in his eye, Bungle jumped onto a branch, settling into a position to narrate the morning's events. He took his time, making the story sound grander than it was, but ultimately, he revealed that Gary had been here before dawn and had left chasing after a swan.

Dyck was dumbfounded by the news, trying to comprehend the situation. He recalled Hamsa's words and his mother's advice about sticking together. Thanking Bungle for the information and wishing Reginald success in wooing the peacock, Dyck turned around with determination in his heart. He set off in the direction Bungle had pointed, following the trail of his missing friends.

While Dyck left the village, Stella had bid her mother and cousin farewell and was now making her way to the village gate. Upon reaching there, she was disappointed not to find her friends. She turned to Reginald, who seemed to be in a grumpy mood due to his failed courtship. Seeking information from him in her assertive manner, Stella learned that her friends had indeed left the village but in a different direction.

Considering the gravity of the situation, Stella took to the skies, following the path that Reginald had wrongly pointed her towards. Well As he saw Stella leaving in the wrong direction, guilt started to well up in him.

With the trio unknowingly setting off in different directions, marks the beginning of their grand adventure. The sun continued to rise, casting its warm glow upon Featherland as the journey of Dyck, Gary, and Stella began, with each step bringing them closer to the mysteries and wonders that awaited them in the vast and unexplored wilderness beyond.
