Prologue

A handsome dark haired man was sitting on the sofa in his livingroom. He wore a blue suit so dark that it was nearly as black as the midnight sky. His tie and the top button of his shirt already loosened, due to the heat, he was lounging like a lazy panther while listening to the news. Even if the man's posture was nonchalant, his burning red eyes told a different story. A steady but insistent knocking, drew him out of his bored half asleep state. He got up and walked over to the door with slow and measured steps, even as the knocks got faster and impertinent. Behind the door stood a red faced blond guy, who shoved himself inside, shoved the door closed and started yelling!

"How dare you trade with Father's people? They are not your toys!" He nearly shrieked in anger. Then he took a calming breath and then another ten. When he felt he wouldn't punch his brother in the face he turned back to him. "Look Michael, brother... I know that you and Father don't see eye to eye on some matters. But he did create the humans, and he feels quite vested in their wellbeing.

The owner raised his left eyebrow at his brother. "Does he now? Well so do I. Even more than he does actually. Since I do have to watch over the damned souls of this plane. And if you can even believe it, there are quite a lot. But that is beside the point, I only traded 1 million souls, and they promised to give the same amount back after the war. So it isn't like we are loosing anything anyways." the owner shrugged. "However you could come to one of the negotiations. We are still talking about the finer details, but Father would get a chance to turn Midgardians to his faith. Basically he could become an integral part in their pantheon on Midgard after the war. That should be still some followers for him so he probably would jump on the idea if he could. What do you say brother? Why not come with me instead so you can watch me get Father what he "deserves" and stop me from screwing him over even if my annoyed vindictive side came out?

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

Michael nodded slowly. "That sounds doable. Same place same time tomorrow, will you take me to Midgard?

They walked together to the portal opening from the bedroom door, however as the owner of the building passed through the magical barrier the portal snapped shut before his brother. The only thing that followed him through was the angry yell of his name.
