prologue ‘The Awakening’
Royal Road is the biggest virtual reality game in the entire world. Everyone who can afford to play the game has played it. Those who cannot afford the capsule or it’s too big to fit in their house have memberships to a game center where they play the game. Even those who don’t like the game have at least paid for one month’s membership. But now a new system has been invented by a new company. It is basically a helmet that you can put on to enter virtual reality. The only game that was on that system as of now was a game called ‘Fallen Eden’.
Steven had been in a coma for four years. It happened during his freshman year of high school, it was a story that was all over the news it was during the first day ‘Royal Road’ was released to stores, it was such a big crowd outside the store and when the doors were opened everyone pushed and shoved their way in not noticing that a kid had fallen over and gotten trampled. He was brought to the hospital barely alive but not conscious.
He woke up barely being able to move he was in the hospital. He remembered that he was waiting outside of the store waiting to buy ‘Royal Road’ and got pushed from behind that’s it. Since no one was in here it must have been a little while it looks dark out the store opened around like 9 am it must have been like 12 hours since them. He looked around and saw he was hooked up to a lot of equipment it must have been a very bad accident. He sees and presses the button to call the nurse. She comes in with a rather surprised look on her face. Within a few hours his parents were there overjoyed and in tears and this 11 year old girl who looked familiar was there bawling louder hen his parents. He asked his parents who she was. That just led to more tears and she screamed “I’m your sister!” Steve looked confused “My sister is only 7”
After a lot of explaining realization and a week of recuperation and having friends visit Steve was finally back home and getting to sleep in his old bed again. He was having lots of problems. Not only had is muscles for the most part vanished, he had sustained serious injuries that he had yet to fully heal from because he wasn’t able to work them and help with the recovery. It would be a couple of weeks before he could walk and much longer before he can run. He will never be his old self again.
He spent those weeks catching up with his family and everything he had missed in the world. He learned that Royal Road wasn’t just an old game but was bigger than ever. This disappointed him even more. It meant he was 4 years behind the best players and it would be impossible for him to ever catch up.
Fall was approaching fast and they had to decide what he was going to do for school. In the end they decided he was going to be home schooled with a tutor. He would be using the virtual world and technology from the Unicorn Company to learn at a much faster pace because time moves differently in the virtual world. He could get 4 years of schooling in 1 year and start catching up to his friends.
Steve wanted to find a game he could play. He had always been an active gamer but no matter how popular and amazing ‘Royal Road’ is he refuses to play it because he knows it’s impossible to catch the better players of the game or even most of the average players anytime soon.
His favorite part of gaming was being at the opening of a new game and getting a head start on people he was always one of the top players in any game but if a new RPG came out he would almost certainly abandon the old game. Because of this habit he had never beaten a game in the past or ever made it to close to the top level.
Later on the news he heard of a new system created by a subsidiary of the Unicorn Company that let people wear a helmet that hooked them up to different virtual reality games. Royal Road was planning to eventually switch over to this system but that might not be for a few years and it might not even be this version of the system.
Steve was intrigued by this development so he got out his laptop and started looking up this new system. The very first thing he saw was the internet was going crazy over a new game called ‘Fallen Eden’. The Creator of the game somehow had access to the Royal Road databases and made it so anyone who starts playing the game has a copy of their ‘Royal Road’ avatar starting over from level 1. The entire world is different and people say it’s not as good as RR. But it was popular because they could get an early look at the new Gaming Helmet and try new quests and adventures that no one else had to know.

The more Steve looked into it the more he wanted to play. The game was shrouded in mysteries, like how they have access to the Royal Road databases and how the game already got the software needed to be used on this new system. Some conspiracy theorists say that Eden is actually one of the continents of Royal Road, other than the Versailles continent, that are not available in the game yet. This theory has been proven wrong by the way the classes, laws of magic, and religion very too much from RR but some people still say that’s just to hide it.
After doing his research he asks his parents if he could get the game and use the helmet for his schooling too instead of the capsule because it would make more sense than changing his whole room to get a new pod installed and he didn't need a capsule because he didn't plan on playing RR anyways.
His parents were easily convinced, they seemed to be overly happy to do anything he wanted seeing as they had just finally gotten him back. For the time being it seemed he would be able to get anything he wanted.
He ordered the Gaming Helmet and ‘Fallen Eden’. It took some time to arrive during that time he did more research on that game and research on virtual reality in general.
The world of Eden is filled with overgrown trees, oaks, holly, spruce, birch, every tree you can name and thousands of others grown to the size of Redwoods. There are volcanic mountains that never stop flowing, lakes as wide and deep as it can be and still be called a lake, trees so big there are villages built in them. Eden was supposed to be one of the most beautiful places any one had seen, and it was around the towns were people lived, but everywhere else looked abandoned the lakes that were supposed to be beautiful and clear had been reported of having so much algae they were green, the glowing red mountains were covered in so much steam no light from the lava could get out, and the forest was well just overgrown but still really cool looking. Each race has its own starting town, and some races that get along can start in each other’s towns.
Steve was worried he wouldn’t be able to play the game because he didn’t have a RR account and everyone who has played so far said it takes your RR avatar and restarts it at lvl 1 while not affecting your actual RR account. He didn’t know if the game would let him play if he didn’t have an account.
The Game finally arrived he gets it all setup with the helmet plugged in and adjusted so it fits his head correctly and logs in to the Game ‘Fallen Eden’.

Founding Eden I thought the game was called Fallen Eden. Maybe it’s a mistake in the game that no one has caught because most people already have a RR account. Oh well let’s get started.

-New players have to choose their alignment. This determines what classes you can start with and where you start in the world. You can choose Demonic, Humane, or Angelic.
This is even stranger I must be playing the wrong game there was nothing like this in anything I read on the game oh well let’s see what classes each of the alignments hold.
Demonic contained harpies, miniatures, different kinds of demons, dragons, and many other classes of monsters like that.
‘Holy Shit!!’ you can be dragons in this game that’s awesome!!
Humane contained what seemed like all the classes available in RR

Angelic didn’t give a description or say what classes there are.
‘Now I’m even more confused what is happening why doesn’t any of this make sense what class should I choose. Well this is good it wouldn’t be fun if it wasn’t unique’
