Hello,
First, sorry about the long hiatus. I got really sick after starting uni, become stuck in a hell of study + work just to survive, and was in a pretty dark place. I wanted to at least post how I was planning the story to end just to put a closure to it. I'm slowly getting back into writing to help me cope with all that's on my plate, so I might end up just making an improved version of this story one day. At least for now, here's how I had Forgotten Sky planned out.
Most characters were based on Ainu's culture with almost every characters having their opposite. Tsuki the main protagonist tried at time to present herself as a flame, I believe. Truth was that Alice, who was something akin to Tsuki's sister, was inspired by the main Ainu goddess related to fire while Tsuki was her opposite. I don't intend to go in details but this goddess is mainly related to culture and community of the Ainu (they tell their stories and legend around a fire) and I intended to have Tsuki, the opposite, be inspired by the god of madness. I found it thematic as people can both bring out the best and the worst in other.
Lastly, something that may be of use is that the Ainu have a kind of Ragnarok - it isn't quite one but it make it easier to relate. That event is caused by an eclipse where all the opposite to the god rise up and the world is covered in darkness. This world covered in darkness was at time talked about when Tsuki, as the writer, spoke of the world she was in.
From where I left off, the main plan was to isolate Tsuki from her allies. She would have used the gem gifted to her by Gupta - I think was his name - to escape to a place inspired by the Hindu hell. To those new, I used about 20 to 30 cultures/legends/religions from around the world which was quite a lot lol. Anyway, each of the characters, while divided, would have gathered some kind of follower for a more military-like arc. Tsuki's armies would have been base on man-eaters from the Hindu legends as well as some more Celtic beast. Part of the beasts of change would have been killed only for the remaining one to ally with the main characters to fight against one of the main antagonist of the story. An emperor ready to stop at nothing to become immortal, his quest awakening things that should have never been awaken. Basically, think of him like an elephant stuck in a room filled with porcelain pot where each pot contain a sort of eldritch god.
With Tsuki already in a bad mental state - pushed by her being a god of madness - she start learning some sort of truth of the world following her experience with those eldritch god. The world is breaking down due to a flaw when it was created. Tsuki's 'mother' Yuu - the brutal girl with red hair - knew of this for a long time and planned everything so that she could fuse with the things breaking reality just before disappearing with someone able to fill in what she was doing before. I'm shortening it a lot but Yuu was the forgotten sky and Tsuki knowing full well what she was doing, was writing this story in order to keep Yuu from ceasing to exist. This action directly led to the eclipse like event by once again the Ainu culture and the opposite of some god. (The Ainu big daddy god is basically the sky while his opposite is an eclipse)
The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. Support the author by reading it there.
The story at this point would have shifted to Alice who had been revived at one point. Her goal being to kill Tsuki... Following along the Ainu's legend, Vergeltung, the talking dad cat who I always hesitate to go full nya nya or dad joke mode, would have taken center stage... Another fact about Vergeltung, I made him to be a sort of personification of the weird old guy who created him... Sorry forgot his name - he was Faristaton in my mind due to him only calling out for Faristha at some point...
I shorten this conclusion quite a lot as otherwise I would have to talk about how x character would have grown to be a god or creature from the Ainu's legends. Some are quite easy to guess, Yassil a big badass bear would have been the big badass bear of the Ainu. The other path I had for some character was to be related to the Pleiades, Yuzuha, a blind girl in the story, would have become Electra who I saw called as the traveling stars. Right now, I can't find the source... I think I used to dig too deep in the past T_T.
Yeah... I don't like how I'm skipping a lot, like how I had the planet they were on the be a kind of mecha made in the bygone past to fight the eldritch god...strangely enough it would have been piloted by that one eldritch monster made only of maws at the beginning of the story. The mecha would have been destroy leading to land on the planet Vergeltung was sent to as a way to prepare for this very moment by Yuu. Then leading the Tsuki learning too much.
Hmmm... I got a big homework to do and need to stop not working on it... In the case anyone has question about any character or event, just ask away, I'll try to look from time to time.
Anyway, thank you for having read this project of mine. While I could have made a better produce I was lacking in time and skill. Still, it was one of the better time I had in recent memories. Thank you for everything. Until the next time.
