Chapter 9

The Awakening

After hanging on for as long as I could he retrieved his hand from my forehead and sighed once again. After he removed his hand my body felt weak at first but once I stood up again I felt that my body was lighter and my muscles weren't visibly strong but they felt as if they held more strength as I felt great energy from them. I was at a loss for words for what he just did to me as it wasn’t an evolution which left me dumbfounded.

The man just kept staring at me and then said in a low voice “ You have awakened with my energy but you happen to take a lot of.” He sounded a little upset but just stood there talking to himself for a few moments before talking to me.

He then introduced himself as Alucard and simply said that I was now awakened but not fully as I'm still missing some pieces of energy. I looked at him like he was crazy as what he said made no sense to me as I didn’t even know who he was nor what was even happening.

He again tried touching my head which I simply pushed away but he said that it was easier to explain if he transmitted the information to me. I was suspicious at first but I had no choice as there wasn't much I could do.

He was transmitting memories of the vampire ancestry and of the various history of monsters within the world. I had come to learn that Alucard was around 23 millennia old.

I had seen that there was a prophecy about a young child who would bear the blood of the forgotten race which was information lost through the ages.

I had guessed that the child mentioned would be me as it was the most obvious conclusion. I wondered why he decided to help me awaken and find out more about myself.

After he was done transmitting the information he simply sighed and then said “It's about time you go.” The others will be hunting you down as well… Be wary of the “Hunters” ; they will surely come knocking on your doors sooner or later.

He then gave me something which was a necklace with a cross and then he slowly faded away. He lastly said, “I’m very sad I won’t be able to see you ever again but when you do reach here Nightingale I hope you visit my old castle.” He had a smile and then he was gone the very next second after his remark.

I also woke up in a cold sweat and then pondered on what he meant by hunters and he even mentioned Nightingale in the world of vampires.

The next morning had arrived and I was still adjusting to my body meaning that what I experienced last night was not a dream.
