Chapter 7 - Miss Rosemary

"Brother Glottis, what do you think about her?"

Glottis sat with his two friends. Two other guys, Gabriel and Duke, sons of rich businessmen in the Arika Republic. As young masters, they could call Glottis "Brother".

"What is there to think? She's just average," Glottis replied in confidence. The three looked at the girl's figure as she walked away, oblivious to the rude remarks about her.

"Average? Don't you always say you can tell if a girl is hot by the way she wiggles her butt? Brother Glottis, I think you are mistaken; she has a great butt," Duke disagreed with the verdict, his eyes glued to the sight.

"I agree with Brother Duke. Could it be that your instincts have been damaged after being beaten?" Gabriel laughed.

"Ah, don't bring it up if you don't want to experience for yourself what I went through," Glottis slapped the back of his friend's neck. "You two are just rookies, you still have milk on your lips. A big round butt is nice, but it doesn't mean she wiggles it right. Look, it's going up and down when she walks, down and up."

"I was just talking nonsense, don't take offense," Gabriel quickly said, "Up and down indeed, but Brother Glottis, what's wrong with up and down?"

"Should it be to the sides?" Duke wondered.

"No, no. Listen and learn, you imbeciles. Oh, here's Miss Rosemary," Glottis said when he noticed the teacher of the other class of his year going down the stairs toward them. "Look at her when she turns her back to us. She pushes one cheek down, and the other up and to the side in a strong swing. To the corner, watch carefully, that's how hot girls walk," he shared his wisdom.

"To the corner? Brother Glottis knows his stuff. Let's wait and see if your words are true."

"Hey, you, what are you staring at?" Miss Rosemary squinted her eyes in suspicion and looked at them. She was used to horny teens, but the three's gazes were too direct.

"We were not staring, Miss Rosemary, we were just admiring your beauty. Would you like to go out this evening?" Duke asked with a smile, "I can book us the best room in any restaurant in the city, meal is on me. What do you think?"

"Go back to your classroom instead of speaking nonsense," Rosemary sighed and walked away. When a student was too shameless and his status was too high to punish him seriously, she preferred to just avoid him.

"You are right, Brother, her wiggle is on a whole different level compared to the girl from earlier. Today, you have gained one new admirer."

"Ah, screw off, admire me when you reincarnate as a beauty."

"You pigs!" A righteous voice surprised them from behind. When they turned, they saw a man Glottis knew all too well by now. "How dare you talk like that to a teacher? If you don't apologize on your own, I will make you!" It was none other than Mike.

"Huh? Kid, do you know who you are talking to?" Duke got up and walked to Mike. Gabriel stood up as well, ready to get into a fistfight.

"Wait, you two. Mike, violence is not the answer to everything. I hope you can repent," Glottis placed his palms on his friends' shoulders and pulled them back.

"You have the nerve to-" Mike got riled up by Glottis' hypocritical words.

"He is right, Mike. Even if you are strong, I was expecting better from you," Miss Rosemary, who was still around, reaffirmed Glottis' words.

"Wait, Miss Rosemary, it's not what I meant. I just wanted to thank you for what you did for me and my sister-"

"So as a 'thank you' you go around and beat people? This is not how we behave here," Glottis said when an idea crossed his mind.

'Does it mean Rosemary is important to him? Haha, I'm a genius, I have too many ideas lately,' Glottis thought to himself as a smug smile crept all over his face.

"No, I just wanted you to apologize for the rude words you said!" Mike objected.

"I appreciate that you care about me, Mike, but I don't want you to be violent in the name of justice. Enough, don't fight. Mike, please, go hang out in a different place," Rosemary sighed. She liked Mike and Titania. The last thing she wanted was to see them mess with three elite families.

"But he said-"

"I know what he said! I'm not deaf, and he wasn't trying to be quiet! Do as I tell you!"

"No, only after he apologizes to you!" Mike persisted. He was stubborn, and when he believed to be right, he never budged.

"Brother Mike," Glottis smiled and patted his shoulder, "There's no need to get so serious over a joke of a student. Miss Rosemary is smart and mature; she doesn't take Duke's invitation seriously. Even if she does, Duke has only invited her politely without forcing himself on her. It's not your place to tell her whom she can or cannot date."

"Back off!" Mike said and pushed him away. He looked at Glottis in hatred and recalled the way he humiliated his dead father. When Mike saw him, he could only see a demon he abhorred from the bottom of his heart.

"Mike!" Rosemary shouted in anger, "Watch your hands!"

"No, Miss Rosemary, you don't understand, he is evil!" Mike spat back in frustration over the fact the teacher did not trust him.

Glottis positioned himself between Mike and Rosemary on purpose, not letting the other see his face.

"I don't care what he is, do you think you are a judge? Today he is evil, and tomorrow it's someone else. You can't resolve everything with your fists!" Rosemary berated him, but Mike didn't listen. His eyes were bloodshot in fury as he stared at Glottis, emanating thick killing intent.

'I am going to dig up your father's grave tonight.'

Those were the words he, as a cultivator, could hear Glottis whisper so weak that it was barely audible.

"YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Mike screamed and lunged himself at Glottis. He punched with all his might, and Glottis put his arms before him. The punch met the arms, and the young master was sent stumbling back until he fell on his butt.

"MIKE! STOP RIGHT NOW!" Rosemary stood right between them, making Mike stop in his tracks only a few inches before crashing into her.

"Argh! IT HURTS! I THINK HE FRACTURED MY ARM!" Glottis yelled loudly, making dozens of students assemble. Even nearby teachers were there, and the scene couldn't get any more framing.

"AHHH! HE BROKE MY ARM!!!" Glottis screamed, pulling the attention of anyone nearby. Now even if Glottis was a normal student, the school wouldn't be able to let the incident slide. Considering that Glottis' status was anything but normal, Mike was in deep shit.

"Mike! Stop!" Miss Rosemary tried to hold him, but she couldn't compete with the strength of a second-stage cultivator. Mike pushed her away without full control of his strength, making her yelp in fright and hit the floor.

"Ah!"

Her voice awakened him from his blind rage, making him realize what he had just done. "Miss Rosemary, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!" He panicked and went to help her stand. However, Duke and Gabriel understood their assignment well.

"If you have the chance to ruin Mike and Rosemary's relationship, take it."

Glottis whispered those words to their ears earlier when he stopped them from having a go at Mike.

"Stay away from her, You can't hurt people as you please only because you are a cultivator," Duke stepped forward, bravely placing himself as a shield between the two.

"That's right. I might be a normal man, but I can tell right from wrong. If I must die protecting Miss Rosemary, I will gladly throw my life!" Gabriel took his friend's side, the contrast between his firm stance and his scared expression could move one to tears.

"Cut the bullshit, I would never harm Miss Rosemary on purpose!" Mike protested, but nobody took his side.

"Go away, animal!" Someone shouted from the crowd.

"How can we be safe when a violent cultivator is among us?" murmurs like this were heard all over the place.

"I'm not violent, it's not my fault! It's him! It's all him!" Mike yelled at them while pointing at Glottis who was still on the ground.

"Enough. Mike, go home, now. You will be summoned to the principal's office tomorrow."

Rosemary, who displayed more resilience than a certain man by standing up, spoke in a commanding tone. She didn't yell, and she didn't seem angry anymore, but it only hurt Mike worse.

"But-"

"I said go home. Do you disrespect me so much you would disregard my words in front of everyone here?"

Mike looked around him, and the situation finally sank into his mind. He knew that no matter what he believed in and no matter what he would say, nobody would take his side. "Yes, Miss Rosemary, I'm sorry for hurting you." He said dejectedly and left, going back home.

"Mr. Sonora, are you ok? Can you stand?" She approached him and said with concern. She wasn't a big fan of those young masters, but he was still a student in her school, let alone the fact she was somewhat involved in the circumstances that led to his injury.

"Miss Rosemary, he is too powerful and merciless, I think he fractured my arm."

"He is normally very docile and gentle. I think Mike is just unstable because of his father's recent death, please don't hold it against him, Mr. Sonora," Rosemary did her best to protect Mike. She knew him for many years now, she hoped the Sonora family wouldn't go after him because of today.

"Since Miss Rosemary vouches for him, I won't pursue the matter. But please, can you take me home so a doctor can treat me?"

"You mean the hospital, right?" Rosemary blinked in surprise.

"No, it's only bone fracture, there's no need for a hospital," Glottis gave her a weird gaze.

'Aiya, billionaires just live differently,' Rosemary sighed before nodding, "I will escort you home then. I will call a taxi." She then remembered that there were still many people watching them, "Everyone, go back to your classrooms, the show is over."

"Miss Rosemary, don't you have a car?"

"I don't, I come by foot," she admitted, embarrassed. Everyone knew that Glottis had permission to bring his car into the school, which meant everyone knew he had a car.

"It's ok, you don't need to worry about it. Do you have a driver's license?" Glottis' mind was working overtime to stop himself from spouting something that would ruin his already bad image.

"I do, why?"

"I don't want to leave my car here, how about you drive us in my car then? I will tell one of the servants to take you home, so you have nothing to worry about," Glottis suggested.

"I couldn't possibly handle driving a car that expensive. What if I scratch it? The repairs would cost me my house," Rosemary said, her tone filled with apprehension as she waved off the offer, her face etched with worry.

"Don't worry about it, I promise I won't take a single dollar from you even if you crash it into a tree on purpose," Glottis raised his hand as he made his promise in a traditional oath stance.

"Haha," a chuckle escaped her lips, "Fine, let's do it then. You can't blame me if you won't have a car after this," she smiled and helped him get up. She'd lie if she said she wasn't thrilled at the thought of driving a car that cost more than her house.

"If I have no car because of you, I will just demand you escort me yourself every day until I buy a new one."

"Oh? And how much time would it take for you to buy a new car?" She asked.

"If you escort me to school every day, I might never buy a new one."

Duke and Gabriel who stood witness to the whole conversation silently from the side, exchanged a quick look before raising their thumbs at Glottis behind Rosemary's back. 'NI-CE!' their lips moved.

"How cheesy," Rosemary said, but the smile on her face said otherwise. She knew she'd never have a real relationship with a Sonora, but it was still fun to imagine life as a billionaire.

Leaving the school, Glottis walked her to his parking spot, leaning on her the entire time. Miss Rosemary understood that his reliance on her was just pretense, given that his arms, not his legs, were injured. However, she was reluctant to refuse this bit of aid to an injured student.
