Meeting the In-Laws

Time flies, and another month passes.

At this point, Lacey has matured even more. Her femininity is increasingly evident. She wears beautiful hair in front of her chest, partially covering her full, upright figure.

"Lacey, I've made up my mind. Next month is the last month of the year, and the 30th is a perfect day for a wedding. I plan to propose to your brother!" Jax announces his decision to Lacey in his rented room.

Lacey, engrossed in editing a script, is initially stunned by his words and overwhelmed with joy. She throws herself into Jax's arms, tears of happiness streaming down her face.

Jax tenderly lifts her delicate face, gently wiping away her tears, and gazes deeply into her bright eyes. "Darling, I will make you happy forever!"

"Mhm!" She looks at him, her face full of shy affection, like a cute cat looking at her beloved.

Their faces draw closer, and when their noses touch, their lips also firmly meet.

Their kiss is passionate and sweet, reminiscent of the lollipops her brother used to make, sweetly melting in every inch of her heart.

Unable to wait any longer, Jax has already shed his clothes, revealing his solid upper body to Lacey, his masculine scent again filling her nostrils.

Her face flushes, her heart racing, and her thoughts become increasingly chaotic.

Is this the moment she has been longing for? Am I ready? This is all happening so fast, should I resist...

"Mmm!" Lost in thoughts, a fervent kiss again seals her lips. Her mind goes blank; the room is filled only with their love's soft murmurs.

After the live broadcast ends, Jax drives Lacey back to the villa that evening. Rick has already received Lacey's call and eagerly awaits their arrival.

As the SUV pulls up, the front door of Lacey's home swings open. "You two are back! I rushed home when I got Lacey's call, afraid I'd miss this happy moment! Ha ha…" Rick greets them, embracing Lacey first, then Jax. He notices a similar scent on both of them and looks at them with a complex expression in his eyes. Could this be the scent of love?

Jax, holding Lacey's hand, enters the house with Rick. The two are inseparable, causing Rick's heart to flutter.

"Big brother, I've decided. I want to marry Lacey. Do you have any requirements for the proposal?" Jax asks, a mix of nervousness and anticipation in his eyes.

Rick smiles casually. "Me? No requirements, but you should meet your parents at least once!"

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Is it that simple? No need to discuss the dowry? Jax thinks quickly and decides not to worry about it. "Alright, I'll follow your arrangements, brother. I'll return to my hometown tomorrow and bring my parents here."

"Okay," Rick agrees. He then turns to Lacey, "Lacey, you and Jax go together tomorrow. Since you're proposing, your in-laws haven't met you yet. I've prepared everything. Jax, pick her up early tomorrow."

"Mhm," Jax nods.

After discussing the wedding arrangements, Jax returns to his rented room. First, he informs his parents, who are 300 kilometres away in the countryside.

His parents, upon hearing that not only does their son have a girlfriend, but they are also about to get married, are overjoyed and surprised. They spend a restless night, wondering how to prepare for meeting their well-off future daughter-in-law.

Lacey also has a restless night, excited and nervous about meeting Jax's parents.

The following day, Jax arrives early at Lacey's house. Rick has prepared breakfast, and Lacey is ready to go.

"Jax, Lacey, come eat," Rick says, removing his apron and sitting with them.

During breakfast, Rick advises them and reminds Jax to be safe on the road.

When he sees Lacey picking up a fried egg, Rick suddenly becomes very serious, his eyes piercing as he stares at Jax. "Brother-in-law, there's something I must remind you. Lacey eats a fried egg every morning and only a fried egg. She won't accept any other preparation. Can you do this?"

Tears immediately fill Lacey's eyes upon hearing her brother's words. The daily fried eggs she had taken for granted now seem so meaningful. Her brother had never missed preparing them for her, even in their most challenging times – it was a gesture full of love.

"No problem, I promise to make Lacey a fried egg every morning," Jax swears, patting his chest.

When they leave, Rick fills Jax's SUV with gifts and gives Lacey some cash for emergencies, although she still has plenty of money in her WeChat and Alipay accounts.

On the highway, they both fall silent, lost in their thoughts.

Lacey feels everything is happening too fast. In just a few months, she and Jax have gone from seemingly incompatible strangers to acquaintances, colleagues, and lovers. To others, it might seem like a dreamy romance.

She organizes her thoughts and looks at Jax in the driver's seat. "Jax, aren't we moving too fast? Are you ready?"

Jax, gripping the steering wheel, replies without looking away. "I'm ready. Although we haven't known each other for long, your feelings for me are sincere, and you've deeply touched me. I love you as much as you love me."

He glances at Lacey in the rearview mirror, a smile in his eyes.

"That's good. I was afraid you felt pressured by my brother to marry me, especially since you're so popular with girls," Lacey admits, still a bit insecure.

"No way! After your brother spoke to me, I thought about it all night. I kept asking myself, do I love you or your family's status? The final answer is you!" Jax's mischievous grin appears in the mirror.

"Stop it!" Lacey playfully punches his shoulder, her touch gentle.

She leans back in her seat, gripping the seat belt. "Jax, is there anything I should pay attention to when visiting your family?" She is still nervous at the thought of meeting Jax's parents.

"Of course!" Jax replies.

She becomes anxious. "Ah! Then tell me quickly."

"There are three things: first, clean the house thoroughly; second, prepare fruits and tea; third, cook a lavish meal."

Lacey turns pale. "All these things are for me to do? I can't cook at all."

"Ha ha... Just kidding. These are things my family will do. It would be best if you looked pretty," Jax teases.

"Jax, you're asking for trouble!"

"Darling, don't hit me, I'm driving!"

The atmosphere in the car lightens up, becoming relaxed and joyful.
