“So how did this happen”

A young man with a grim expression laughed in disbelief.

The young man had pale white skin, short black hair, jade green eyes, he was wearing a worn out leather armor and black pants.

“Where I am”

“This can’t possibly be true , right...”

Shunan let out a dejected sigh, as he looked back at what happened..

A Few hours ago

Shunan was such avid gamer to the point that his parents had to limit his playing hours otherwise he wouldn’t stop,but when he entered university he was too busy with studying for the unending amount of exams or working on countless assignments.

So he was truly excited after all now he had some spare time on his day that he would totally use up to play “Destiny”.

The newest VRMMO “Destiny”  with the latest technology, was said to let you experience the greatest RPG adventure one would ever want , it was selling like wildfire , in less than 24hrs more than 10 million consoles were sold at a special launching price of £1800.

After seeing trailers of “Destiny”, he was immediately hyped up and wanted to play it at all costs, but he was taken aback by the astonishingly high price.

“Jesus,that’s too expensive”

Naturally Shunan been a recent graduate, without a full-time job, he couldn’t possibly have that kind of money to spend on a video game.

“I guess I will have to find another part-time job”

Shunan had no choice but get another part-time job, he already had two that covered all of his day another one meant he would have basically no time off, but he was too eager to play “Destiny” so he was prepared to sacrifice some of his resting time.

Shunan, looking at the people leaving the shops with “Destiny” he felt an even bigger urge to play but unfortunately he was broke, and couldn’t possibly afford it now and the price would only rise.

Lucky bastards

Before going home, Shunan decided to stop by his favourite coffee shop.

He went inside and calmly sat down at the window seat and ordered a cup of Latte, as he took a sip of the sweet as honey Latte.

All he could think about was how could he get his hands on “Destiny”, even if got another part-time job he would take at least 2-3 months to save up £1800.

From watching the trailers, he had already decided what class he would choose for his, he wanted to be a paladin.

”Destiny” was a mysterious game.

The game creators had released a statement stating that they would let  players learn about the game’s fantasy world as they played.

They had only released information about classes, and skills. There are many different jobs.

Your main character could have one main job and up to 5 other sub-jobs , and the vast skill tree meant that every character could be built in an entirely unique way.

It's was already afternoon and the weather was quite warm. There was such a beautiful sunset that if anyone had the chance to see it they immediately would be captivated by it’s beauty, but Shunan couldn’t help but feel depressed letting out a sigh, as he left the coffee shop.

Starting the game, three months later than everyone else would be a great disadvantage, but knowing it was impossible to get one now, he was depressed, the only way he could possibly get a “Destiny”  now was if it fell from the sky into his house.

“If only i had i full-time job”

Shunan quietly murmured to himself, he had recently graduated from university with a bachelor's degree and tried to find a job but all the companies he went said they would love to give him a job but sadly there weren’t any vacancies.

The country he lived in was in a great depression,most companies had stopped hiring new employees or shut down completely and employees being cut were frequent , it was truly a hard time for people to find a stable job.

While deep in thought , shunan arrived at his cheap apartment , he had moved from his parents house into a dorm when he started university, but now he could only afford to rent a cheap and old apartment with noisy neighbours, constant loud arguments between a couple that lived next door could be heard.

Shunan spend many night angry at himself for not being able to have anything better than this and angry at the world that offers no chance for him, someone from a humble family, who had studied hard to get into a good university and wanted a good stable job, to be able to possibly help his parents that had worked hard most of their lives.

When Shunan entered his apartment , he noticed a big box by the entrance.

“What’s this I didn’t order anything”

Shunan was too curious he couldn’t help but open the box, at the top of the box there was a strange note and it said.

“Is your life not going as you planned?”

“Are you happy?”

“Do you want to go somewhere else?”

“What is this some trip advert”

Shunan ignored the strange note and quickly tore open the box , to shunan great surprise there was a “Destiny” console inside it.

It’s Destiny , I got one!”

Shunan was so happy that he didn’t even find it suspicious , that he had received a console from out of nowhere.

He didnt want to waste any time and quickly plugged the console in the socket, then put the helmet console on his head and turned on the game.

……

Nothing happened, Shunan was frustrated, he was extremely eager to play but he thought maybe this was a prank with a broken console being sent to him.

he didn’t want to give up he was restless and wanted to play at all costs and he kept turning it off and on again until it finally worked.

All of a sudden Shunan could see a bright light being emitted in the inside of his mind.

“Its working!”

Shunan said happily

The bright light was getting stronger and stronger, Shunan was puzzled it was supposed to have started up already.

Shunan decided to try and turn it off , but nothing happened the bright light was still getting more intense , then it suddenly turned off and everything went dark.

“What is happen-”

Shunan said worryingly as he lost consciousness

At the moment, in his old apartment , while everything was dark ,

Time came to a halt, all the world’s clock stopped it, cars, people, everything stopped, the earth itself stopped.

Shunan’s body starting from the feet was slowly disintegrating like a chunk of data.

It took about five minutes for shunan whole body to completely disintegrated , after it was done tima started again, the people continued hurrying along in the streets, the cars in the streets moved along again.

The earth that stopped for a brief moment had again started moving.

The pendulum of fate was slowly set to motion.

The man called Shunan was forgotten.
