January 15, 2085.
The skies of Vates Ville convulse, crackle and pop with sharp white and blue streaks of lightning. As the sudden downpour of rain lays upon the city. The clouds a deep and mysterious dark grey, with only the slightest form of space in-between them. Letting in what little dim rays of sunlight can protrude through them down on the cities massively tall skyscrapers. Just below them, the city square where Elijah is jogging lightly using his all black sports themed book bag to shield himself from the rain. Elijah begins to pick up pace as he looks down at his watch scoffing. “ I really hate being late, this is unbelievable. I’m gonna be late for homeroom and its literally only the first day.”
A short jog and many verbal complaints later Elijah finally arrives at his destination. The illustrious and awkwardly built StellarStar University. Elijah looks up at the gigantic buildings, scratching his head and shifting his eyes from side to side. Looking around for some sort of sign or direction board. He stretches his neck. Prancing from side to side as the pelting rain begins to sog his book bag, allowing the extra moisture to settle in. With his anxiety in full form and his book bag dripping water Elijah runs from building to building. Looking for some sort of administration office or help desk. “ Who in the world designed this place, why does every single building looking exactly the same? Same color scheme, same everything”. Growing impatient Elijah runs to a nearby building with an overhead pass in front of it. He stands under the pass and flips his book bag forward.
Throwing it over his shoulder, Elijah raises his right hand to his left breast. He clenches his chest tightly and closes his eyes. “I’m sure if I do it quick enough no one shall notice.” A faint light begins to slowly grow in the space between his chest and right palm. Suddenly he jerks his palm from his chest and clenched it tightly. “ No, no, I promised that I wouldn’t do any of that here.This time It’ll be different. He punches himself in the thigh lightly as he keeps repeating"...”Act normal, keep it cool”.

A soft yet, very eager voice rings softly in Elijah's ear. “Umm dude are you alright?”. He freezes suddenly as it feels like his stomach is balling in a knot. Thinking to himself, “ Oh god no, my worst nightmare has come true. On the first day of school I’ve been caught doing something strange… Now i’m gonna be known as the weird kid damn it!”. Elijah turns around to meet the gaze of the person who would inevitably end his college career before it got a chance to start. Looking extremely sweaty and uncomfortable his gaze goes from the wet pavement on the ground. To the brown ebony skin of the young lady in front of him. Slowly creeping up to her chest area, in which he spent more than a few seconds looking upon. Until finally they lock vision face to face.
A brown skinned girl, with curly hair. A white shirt with a blue jacket over it. Blue jeans and extremely stylish yet casual shoes stands before him. Her body language reciprocating the same awkwardness Elijah is feeling inside. Her left eyebrow raises as she inquisitively ask him “ Were you talking to me or? You know what never mind, sorry for bothering you”. She turns to walk to the door behind Elijah, as he swiftly steps in front of her path. “Ugh no, no please wait. You don’t understand… I’m not weird I’m just ugh lost. Yeah I’m lost, I’m looking for the administration building”. She looks at him with a sour expression, her demeanor radiating a strong sense of pride and seriousness. She replies back in a soft yet stern tone of voice, “ If you’re looking for the administration building. You’ve found it.” She points to a gigantic billboard just inside the corridor of the building that has “Administration Desk” plastered over it.
“If you had slowed down and took a look inside the glass you would’ve seen the sign dude”. Elijah stunned by her sudden attitude change takes a step back. Elijah now ashamed by his antics looks into the glass window pane. “Oh I see.. Well thanks for the help. I’m Elijah by the way. What’s your name-”. Before he could finish his sentence she opens the door and walks in. She turns left and starts heading up the staircase. Elijah drops his head sighing. “ Welp..so much for day one”.
