Chapter 12

As he was looking through the window, he couldn't help but be nostalgic and somewhat sad as he watched his previous home disappear into the distance. He was finally leaving Tython. Tython was, in some ways, his true origin in this universe. Although he was not born here, it was only here in the absolute freedom and the perfect balance between the force that he could find his true self.

As much as he would have liked to make Tython the headquarters for his new order. The planet was too important in the histories of both the Jedi and Sith. The fact that it was so close to core planets, while being a plus in any other scenario, his current scenario made it a disadvantage.

He wanted to grow his order in silence so as not to be harassed by both the Jedi and Sith. While it would be fine if he was the only one, if he didn't want his newly created code to be buried with him, he had to gather followers.

Being this close to both the orders made it damn near impossible to do it in silence. So, he needed a new base far away from the attention of both the Jedi and the Sith. Preferably where there were very few people so that he could gather strength to prepare for the clone wars.

But since he didn't decide where that place would be, he decided that he would roam around the galaxy for a little while, truly getting to know it first-hand. While he didn't have a concrete plan for the new headquarters, he currently had some short-term goals. The first goal was to go droid hunting on Mustafar.

Most Star Wars fans' comments on hearing the name Mustafar are two responses. The planet where the battle between Vader and Obi-wan took place, or the place where HK-47 was rediscovered.

That's right! He was going droid hunting on Mustafar, looking for HK-47. He wanted that historic droid to work for him.

"Commencing hyperspace jump in 3..2..1!" from the speakers came the smooth voice of Paddy as she controlled the two ships to jump into hyperspace. With a small jerk, the lights went long, and the ships hyperjumped.

"Estimated time of arrival at destination planet: 13 hours".

Now that there was time, he sank into himself as he contemplated the changes. It has only been two weeks since he got the augmentations. It only took a week with the help of his occlumency and the force to get used to the changes in his body.

But now that he had gotten to the maximum physical peak he could get without force enhancement, he felt like it was time that he started working on his force control next.

Unlike physical training, however, force control requires you to understand the nuances and tricks within it. The smaller the amount of force you try to control the harder it is. So, this wasn't a problem that was solved by just hard work, it also required him to do an equivalent amount of smart work to get results.

For the rest of the trip, he slowly practised control with the force. He had been stuck at the control level of an object the size of a nut since his escape. Most of the reason he had stayed at this level was simply because of the fact that that level of control was sufficient for most of his purposes. If they put his level of control in the Jedi temple, they would consider him to be at the level of a Padawan.

Jedi younglings, from his limited understanding through Athena's Holocron, rarely practiced force control. They usually practised their ability to manipulate a greater amount of force energies until they were chosen as Padawans, which was when they really started to train their control.

However, the one thing that Padawans had going for them was that they didn't have as much of a force pull as him when they started. Think of it as, like this, every force-sensitive was a magnet. Their ability to use the force was the strength of the attractiveness of the magnet.

Padawans generally got used to their "magnetism" easily because of their low attractiveness and learnt to control their "magnetic field" easily because of the smaller field around them making it hard to disturb their control.

However, because of Renato's fortunate, or unfortunate circumstances, in this case, fortunate in the sense that most people would never have the depth of "magnetism" of the force he has, unfortunate because the sheer magnitude of the field breaks his force control by extending the range of the effect even to places, he didn't want it to effect, making training of force control exponentially harder for him.

However, as he was about to try and practice force control by reducing the size of the object he needed to control, Athena popped out from the Holocron.

"Master Renato, I see that you are going to practice your force control further by incrementally reducing the size of the object controlled?"

"Yes, well, that is the plan."

"I would suggest a rather unorthodox method of control first which can train your control much faster than just incrementally decreasing the size of the object, but the tradeoff required is that it is very exhausting to most people."

"Oh? If you have any new wisdom to dispense, please do so. I would rather not waste my time when there is a better method available."

"Very well. This method isn't anything innovative in itself except for the fact that the stamina required to practice this type of control method isn't acquired until one reaches at least a Jedi knight.

The technique is simple. Instead of controlling a single small object at once, you can instead practice with multiple larger objects until you feel that you have mastered that level and then move on to the next.

The ingenuity of this technique lies in the fact that force control at the end of the day is about the body/mind's instinct comfort at using it. With this method, each repeated use of force at that level of control makes it easier to use the next time around that level of control is used until, eventually, it will become second nature to the user.

But the drawbacks of the techniques are also obvious. It is incredibly exhausting for most people to use, but your special case makes this method almost tailor-made for you."

"That is amazing. If this is true, then you just saved me tens of thousands of hours of work, Athena. I feel like I went from hardcore mode to normal mode in seconds. But first let me test the level at which I am at"

Renato then proceeded to use different tools of different sizes until he felt just the right amount of pressure to make it challenging, but he could keep up for the whole day. It ended up being objects the size of eating utensils like spoons or chopsticks.

"Hmm, for this training to have an even better effect, I think I should stop using my normal hands for day-to-day tasks altogether except while practising so as to not lose my hard trained dexterity"

"If you can keep up with it, I think that it would be much better to do it in this manner. However, while training is important, I would recommend you to not practice in such a way unless you are in a safe place. As they say, battlefields are unpredictable, and like all followers of the force, wherever the force leads us there are always troubles to be solved."

"As expected of you, similar to your namesake, you have much wisdom to give me, Athena. I will heed your advice and try to keep this method of training for when I am in a place of safety."

Athena's hologram then nodded in acknowledgement, bowed to him and disappeared into the holocron again.

Now that he had gotten a newer and better way of training force control, Renato got into exercises to control multiple objects at once all the time. Around 7 hours into the journey, however, Renato felt the sudden but familiar jerk of a spaceship coming out of hyperspace.
