Prologue

In the age of creation, there existed two divine dragons, Ignatius and Zephyra, who graced the plains and rivers of our world with their celestial presence.

They had been boundlessly joyful, revelling in endless games, their laughter the music of the cosmos. Neither Rain nor snow bothered them, heat or cold didn't stop their explorations, and neither did the vast oceans separating the continents, for gods do not stop before the whims of nature.

They spent uncountable centuries playing, reshaping the planet to fit their whims, fashioning the wonders of the world.

Then, Zephyra conceived a challenge for his brother, a test of their boundless creativity and diving prowess.

Ignatius, in his humility, rose to the challenge, unknowing to his brother’s designs.

Zephyra proposed that they both create something unparalleled and let it compete. Ignatius, ever gentle, listened intently.

Ignatius created sunflowers, colossal blossoms constantly reaching towards the sun in pursuit of life, their towering stalks yearning for life’s warmth.

Yet, Zephyra beheld his brother's work and found it wanting, for he wished to surpass all that had been created before in his hubris. And so, he created humanity, the first beings to bear the divine spark within, gifted with the potential for infinite growth in their limited lives.

Ignatius gracefully conceded that it was his loss, but proposed a revanche, and thus commenced the age of miracles.

The brothers birthed countless creatures, filling the world with harmonious creations. The prior boundless ranges of the world started to get crowded by the creations of the two deities. Ignatius, in an act of divine benevolence, offered one last round before they let the world prosper on its own.

To settle the discord and allow the world to thrive, Ignatius created the apex protector of the realm in his own divine image- the dragons. He put everything into this creation, offering a little of his blood to give them innate magic and to match the growth of humans.

Zephyra, ever envious of humanity’s devotion to his brother, made a new race of humanoids, gifted with a heightened sense to detect magic and within them was an unquenchable thirst for chaos.

The brothers' relationship devolved into squabbles, Zephyra attempting to wrestle control from Ignatius. Zephyra, consumed by envy, sought to wrest control from Ignatius, and the world trembled beneath their divine wrath.

In the final throes of their cataclysmic clash, Ignatius, embracing selflessness, made a supreme sacrifice. With boundless love for the world they had forged, he imprisoned Zephyra within the moon, shielding creation from the chaos he would have wrought.

Yet, Zephyra, in his last defiant act, sowed the seeds of discord and corruption throughout the world, a shadow that lingered even in his absence.

And thus, the world has been touched by their divine hands, forever bearing witness to their celestial conflict, a testament to Ignatius's selflessness, and Zephyra's eternal enigma. In these divine verses, we, the faithful, find the wisdom to cherish the gifts of our gods, nurture their creation, and guard against the chaos that threatens to consume our souls…

for we are the Dragon Knights.
