So... I feel really silly saying this two chapters in and with the third 80% done. But, I'm dropping the story. For now.

Let me explain. If you didn't catch it based on what I've written so far, this story was first imagined with absolutely no plan in mind. I had no idea where it would go or how it would end up. I kind of imagined something like Azarinth Healer, where it would just spiral on with no direction. But as I've been writing, I realized that even if that works for other authors, it doesn't for me. And even after getting a concrete outline together, I see a bunch of places where I would need to change the last two chapters to fit the new direction. So, when faced with either rewriting the whole thing or scrapping it and starting a new story with proper planning and an idea of what I'm actually doing, I chose the second option. To be clear - This has been quite a positive (if somewhat stressful) experience for me, and I do not plan to stop writing. And, I do think there is a story to be told here - I want to come back and rewrite this whole thing when I get the time and motivation.

In conclusion, I will be dropping this story and writing a new one in such a way that I don't drop it after two chapters. Thanks for all the support everyone in the comments and ratings gave me - it's been a huge confidence boost to see people actually like what I'm doing.
