I woke up earlier than usual . The burning sensation that resided within me didn’t allow me to sleep for long. It was a feeling that I was unable to get used to even after 8 years.I listened out for a moment but the castle resonated with an almost tangible silence, a stillness that seemed to pervade every stone and corridor, accentuating the absence of its usual hustle and bustle.I slowly crept out of my bed endeavouring to minimize any sound I produced to the greatest extent possible. As I slowly crept out of my room I noticed my reflection gazing back at me. My body was slightly red which was a common occurrence that I concluded had something to do with the searing sensation in my body that woke me up most nights I knew it would turn back into it’s normal cream colour later. Apart from that my golden locks dangled loosely in the gentle breeze, shimmering like strands of sunlight and my azure gaze reflected back at me. I kept walking until I had finally left my room. I had always loved the castle at night as it offered a peaceful refuge from the day’s bustling activities. Father had thought the same thing as I occasionally encountered him during my midnight strolls. As I tiptoed through the castle I remained attentive, listening for my mother’s presence. She would always get angry at me when she caught me and force me to go back to bed. I eventually made it out of the castle and continued to walk until I reached a familiar hill. I lied on the ground where I could marvel the midnight sky which unfolded with breathtaking beauty, adorned with shimmering stars that illuminated the darkness like scattered diamonds on velvet.after gazing up at the stars for a few moments I got up and decided to do some practice.I stood still for a couple moments feeling within my body for the same sensation that had woken me up and after a while I felt it.It was a milder feeling but it was the same source of power. I allowed the comfortable sensation to flow within me before I sent it into my right hand. My hand ignited into a brilliant blaze, tendrils of fire dancing along my fingers and casting a warm, flickering glow around me. “Ok that s the easy part” I thought to myself. “Now for the hard step” I opened my hand and slowly forced the energy into the centre of my palm. The flames slowly migrated from my fingertips to the center of my palm and just when the flame was about to fully reach its location It vanished. “Damn it!” I shouted it “I was so close”. “You really are just like your father” a familiar voice echoed behind me. I turned to see my mother standing behind me. “Crap!” I thought to myself. She let out a sigh before laughing after noticing my expression.”I assumed you’d be more like me since you have my hair, but you really are your Fathers son”. She laid down beside me and we stared into the sky counting the stars for what seemed like an eternity. “Now, I think it’s time you headed back to bed,I’m taking you and your little brother some place special tomorrow. My face lit up “Where? I begged hoping for at least a hint”. “You’ll find out tomorrow she said before kissing my forehead. “Good night my love” she yawned tiredly as she heading back towards the castle and I followed excitedly behind
