As soon as the skeletal mouse took its first step, an entirely new sensation opened to Genesis. They felt as though they were no longer limited by their own body's limitations as an entirely new circle of vision surrounded the new extension of their body. It could feel that the mouse's body was far weaker than its own, but also lighter and more nimble. The memories of the mouse were gone, replaced by the thoughts and consciousness of Genesis.
Genesis isn’t disoriented by this new sensation. As though they’d been born as a mouse made of bones, they dexterously ran out of the cave using their new small creation. Their original body stood in place for a moment before slowly following, bones clacking against the stone ground.
The mouse’s Magic Sense couldn’t get a clear picture of the world outside of the cave due to having a stature below that of the grass it darted into.
Eventually, the larger skeleton leaves the cave, entering a forest. The cave was located in a small hill, and blended into the surroundings due to an infestation of moss and vines.
The forest was very loud, a cacophony of birds singing, small creatures screeching, and bestial growls in the distance. The skeleton could not hear any of this, and simply continued walking forward. Without meaning for it to, the mouse acts as a scout. Genesis does not control their smaller body to slow down, having no consideration for their larger, human bones.
Genesis pauses as the mouse is suddenly knocked to the side. Genesis doesn’t understand why the mouse moved without their command, given that they’ve never seen another being other than themselves. The mouse looks to its left and sees a flash of movement across its Magic Sense before being knocked over once more.

Genesis speeds up, breaking into a slow jog to reach where their smaller self. When they catch up, they see four small birds, each roughly the size of the mouse skeleton, dive-bombing it. When one of the birds sees them, it changes targets, screeching harshly before smashing its body into Genesis’s head.
[You’ve slain the sparrow!]
The bird’s head is crushed by its own speed. It falls to the ground, dead. Without thinking, and unaffected by the bird’s suicide attack, Genesis reaches down.

While one bird has killed itself in an attempt to destroy the human skeleton, the rest continue to dive-bomb and peck and the mouse one. As the dead bird’s flesh and feathers begin to melt off of its body, two of the birds have decided to work together. They push their small talons between the ribs of the small mouse, clamp down, and snap them off.

Genesis understands that its smaller body is in trouble, and attempts to force it to flee before bothering with its new bird body. Genesis looks at the birds continuing to attack its smaller body, and in an attempt to escape, controls it to run away. It only makes it a few steps before its spine suddenly snaps, cracks having built up in it from the attacks of the birds.
[Ordinary field mouse (undead) has crossed the damage threshold and returned to death.]
Genesis, for the first time, feels a moment of shock as a part of their vision vanishes. Both they and their new bird body freeze in place as the three remaining birds screech in triumph before moving in to attack once more. Seeing their previous accomplice as a skeleton incenses them further, but they learn from its mistakes and avoid attacking the larger human skeleton. The bird skeleton attempts to fly, but fails without its feathers. The most it can do is hop around, trying to avoid its pursuers.
While controlling their new body to attempt to evade the attackers, they quickly absorb the new information: that its bodies being knocked around and broken can result in them no longer functioning. It immediately acts on this new information, intervening by raising its skeletal human hand and swiping downwards, attempting to knock one of the birds out of the air. It misses in spectacular fashion, with no sword or guidelines to assist it, but a new notification appears in its mind the moment it finishes its futile attack.
