Jax instantly felt the intent of the spirits. After a moment he was able to slowly parse the feelings, and he was shocked to find that there were only truly two intents fused to his soul. The first was the amalgamation of nature spirits he had inadvertently killed, and the second was the voidspawn. As he sat there and focused on them he began to glean some things. The two seemed evenly matched, though the amalgamation was regaining its power swiftly as Jax recovered from the poison. He could feel a steady draw of energy from the surrounding as the nature-based spirit attempted to reform itself. As it did so Jax felt the strength in his left arm slowly reassert itself.
The two powers were definitely at odds that must was for certain, yet while they felt antagonistic towards each other they didn't fell outright hostile. It was as if they both wanted the same goal to be achieved, they just had different methods of achieving that goal. Jax was unsure as to what that goal was, but he was sure that it was not directly harmful towards himself. How did he know? Well to be honest he wasn't entirely sure, he just had very strong feelings about certain things, and he had decided to trust those feelings.
Jax paused from his meditating and opened his status. He saw that his class, race, level, and skills had all changed. He also had a new quest and his constitution had updated. On top of that he had 8 free stat points. Normally stat points were self-allocating, but it appeared that due to his class focusing on versatility he could do whatever he wanted with them. He was unsure what to do so he asked for Nias advice, filling her into the situation.
"well" She responded after a moment of thought, her face puckered in concentration. "It depends on where you want to be when we fight and how you see this all going down. We have two giants that can draw attention for you. But that can go bad, we saw that with Gelkrin. If there are trained assassins, or just people with a decent plan those two cant protect you. If you intend to fight in the frontlines then strength and constitution are your best bet. but if you intend to be sneakier then dexterity and agility are important."
Jax had hoped that she would commit and decide for him, but she had a point. He was unlikely to master spellcasting in any decent timeframe, so for now he was left with the choice of being a dexterity or a strength-based fighter. He could change it up later, nothing was set in stone. Nia had told him that at level 20 you got a chance to reset your stats to fit your new class if you made a huge change. She didn't know much about the D garage, but Gelkrin had intended on resetting his stats, and his system backed her up with a prompt informing him there would be a 5% stat loss, and your skills would change to ones of your new class, keeping their rarity.

After a moment of thought on the issue jax asked Nia "What exactly does constitution do?"
She replied "Well it makes you stronger. I don't know exactly how to say it. I have a constitution of 14. it dosnt get upgraded by my class at all. Most of it is from my magical nature, and a bit is from a spell I know that infuses me in energy, as a result its harder for me to get hurt. The Jerg has a constitution of 40ish mostly due to his race. A merchant gets 1 constitution per level. but the gongs start with sch an insane constitution that they can even regrow limbs if you give them a few years. Their organs arnt a vital part of their functioning, and its almost impossible to assassinate them with poison or a strike to a weak spoot. I dont know what Durgs constitution is, but im sure its horrifyingly large."
Jax was slightly taken aback at this explanation. He had thought they might have a leg up but that was just insane. The two weren't much taller than me. yet they were absolute mammoths of power. Nia must have seen the look on his face because she said "You need to understand that most stats have a cumulative effect. Once you get more than 20 in a stat the compounding of stats begins to snowball. At least for F grade. And not all species are made the same. The gongs have an easier time of it true, but they suffer as a result. They are as strong as they are because of how they grow up. And personally I wouldn't care for the abysmally low int stats they normally have. I know some Gongs with a base Intelligence as low as 5."
Jax opened his mouth to reflexively say that five wasn't that low, then held at the last secondd held his tongue. He thought to himself Was it? Was I dumb? Well my int might be low, but I'm smart enough not to call myself out like that. And decided to focus back on his stats. In the end Jax went with a mix of strength, dexterity and constitution. he put 2 in each... and then put the remaining 2 in intelligence just to be sure.
The effect wasnt as strong as Jax thoguht it would be. Nia had told him before that it took about six hours for new stats to take effect, sometimes even longer, so he sat back and read his new quests.
Level 2 Advancement Quest:
Recruit a friendly spirit 3/1
Form a blade from a slain opponents soul 0/1
Kill foes with your powers 0/10
The skills seemed pretty straight forward. To complete them he simply had to start killing... not something he was entirely ready for. He honestly hadn't gotten over the first few kills yet.
Jax looked at Nia and sent her his thoughts saying "Hey I'm going to go out and talk to the guys. I`ll be out there until we get to town."
She didnt say anything back, but as heI hopped out the wagon and began running to the front seat, Jax felt her acknowledgement.
