Chapter 41 - Nothing Happened

The study trip to Paris ended even though they felt as if they had just arrived yesterday. Now, the students were marching toward the plane on the boarding gate, according to the flight attendant's instructions, after having received their boarding passes and entering the gate.

"Wow, Bianca, you got an upgrade!" Bianca's two friends were so impressed when they saw her waving the boarding pass she just received from Madame Delaval.

"Well, my father travels a lot for business and has many miles. So, I asked him to get me an upgrade to business class with his privilege," Bianca said with a shrug. "My flight here should've been upgraded too, but at the time, all business seats were sold out. Fortunately, there were still a few empty seats this time."

"Ahhh... this is amazing," Sandra whipped out her cellphone and took a picture of Bianca showing off her boarding pass on her chest. "Let's post this to Splitz first!"

The three girls giggled and chattered nonstop while taking various photos and uploading them to Splitz to show off their trip to Paris, which ended today.

[Aww, we'll miss you, Paris!! #besttripever #summerholiday #studytour #bff #businessclassflight #paris #singapore #gohome]

Almost all students who took part in the study trip to Paris were children from well-off families. But, their parents didn't buy business class tickets for them. So, the fact that Bianca would be flying in style made many of her friends jealous.

"Sorry, friends. I can't sit with you this time. My mother said I need my beauty sleep," Bianca said with a smile, showing off her pearly white teeth.

"Hey, you're in business class too? I hope we sit close to each other," blurted Cedric. The boy waved his boarding pass too. "What's your seat number?"

Cedric Singh was the only son of the CEO of an international bank. He was also very smart, and his parents always gave only the best for him. Apparently, after Cedric complained to his mother that he couldn't sleep well in coach on the last flight, his mother bought him a new ticket in business class.

"That's none of your business," Bianca replied curtly. She was annoyed because she was no longer the only student flying in business class.

Emma, who stood in line waiting for boarding with Alex and David, simply watched their banters while shaking her head.

"Come on... I wanna to sit in business class, too," David grumbled. "Dad said that as long as I'm still in Class F, I wouldn't get any more benefits from him! My back would hurt if I sat still for 13 hours in a cramped economy seat, you know!"

Alex also pursed his lips. "Pretty much the same here. Mine said I needed to learn to live a difficult life so I'd appreciate my life more."

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Emma could only stare at her two friends while rolling her eyes. Ah, she and these boys did live in different worlds. She was already grateful she'd been able to go to Paris and found information about her parents. In fact, even if she had to sit on one of the plane's wings, she wouldn't mind at all.

"Eh, by the way, where's Haoran?" asked Emma, realizing he wasn't around after scanning the surrounding. They had entered the gate together, but now, the young man had disappeared. Dinh was occupied with snacking on the croissants, and Eric was calling his parents on the phone to give news. Did Haoran get lost or something?

Alex looked at Emma in surprise. "You don't remember? Just like in the previous flight, he entered the plane first, together with other passengers in suites and first-class. He must be chilling out on his cozy bed now while we peasants wait for our turns to get in."

"Bed?" Emma didn't understand what Alex just said.

"Oh, right. I forgot"—Alex facepalmed himself—"Haoran mentioned you had a fever and lost some of your memories. He's already in the plane enjoying his suite class ticket. He's staying in his own room the size of a hotel room complete with a nice bed and a private bathroom."

It took Emma a few seconds to digest Alex's words, wait—suite class? She had read of it. Some commercial airlines provided a suite option for their ultra-rich customers who didn't want to use their private jet.

These airline companies would have economy class, followed by business class, first-class, and a few suites. The price for one suite was equivalent to ten business class seats or all the seats in the economy class.

Emma knew Haoran's family was very wealthy, but she didn't expect it to be THIS wealthy.

"I didn't know that," Emma said with a frown. "Do our teachers know about it since they're the ones who handle the boarding passes?"

Alex nodded. "Of course. But Haoran asked them to keep it a secret, and they did since Haoran hasn't bothered them so far. Moreover, our return flight also received a discount from the airline. The school was given a 50% discount for the return flight tickets. That's why students only need to pay 2,000 dollars for hotel, food, land transport, tips, and flights. The actual costs would be higher than that without the discount."

"We got discounts? How?" Emma asked in surprise.

"Uhm... because this airline belongs to his family?" Alex couldn't help but laugh as he watched Emma nod while slowly grasping what he meant by his words. "Wow... you never try to find out how wealthy your future husband is, do you? What's his will be yours, you know!"

"Ehh! What do you mean!" Emma hit Alex's shoulder, but Alex simply laughed, making her more exasperated. "What future husband? What did Haoran say to you guys?"

"I'm just kidding. Geez, Emma... Don't be so serious." Alex groaned while protecting his shoulder from Emma's punches. "He didn't say anything. I was just teasing you. I'm joking."

Emma's face turned red. She was embarrassed at the thought of Haoran telling his friends they had kissed earlier today. Emma glared at Alex and tried to read his mind.

She must find out what Haoran had told them. Ugh...

'Wow! Emma is blushing! Did something happen between her and Boss Haoran? Whoaaa... this is so juicy! Finally, progress. Hmm... I wonder what they'd do? Could it be—they kissed? Wow... I'll have to trick Haoran later to tell me what happened. Muahahaha!'

Instantly, Emma held back her punches, furrowed her brows, and crossed her arms. "Nothing happened between Haoran and me! Don't assume anything weird!"

After that, she ignored Alex and pretended to focus her attention on her boarding pass.

Pfew... It turned out Haoran didn't say anything to Alex. That's a relief.

Contrary to what she wanted to happen, her reaction gave her away. Now, her friends were suspecting she and Haoran had done something. Damn. She must pretend nothing happened now.
