It was late June, the sun was beating down on Lawrance, well what was left of the city. Buildings were demolished and in ruins. There were teams of people looking for survivors. There weren't many, but the few who did survive were hiding away in the rubble. They were doing their best not to breathe in dust. They had bandanas wrapped around their mouths and noses to keep the dust out of their lungs.
The Winchesters, Sam, Dean, and the newest official Winchester Castiel all looked over Lawerance and only found two survivors of the wreckage—a male with a small child, a little boy, no older than three. The man was hysterical.
When the boys calmed him down, they got him back to the Bunker and got the man to calm down. They gave him a room along with the boy.
The Winchester boys and the Angel went to the war room, a room with a computer console on the right side of the room, a desk, and a large map of the United States on the left. In the center of the room was a large table with a light map of the world on it. The taller of the Winchesters looked at the other two. "Okay, so we found three yesterday, two today, who knows what we will find tomorrow." He said.
''Sam, we've been looking for a week. We can't find her. It's possible that the angels or the demons took her during the war." The shorter Winchester said. He grabbed the angel's hand and messed with the gold wedding band on his finger.
"Look. I'm not giving up on Mia. She's out there somewhere, Dean." He said. He could remember the look of terror on her face when the war started. He remembered her telling him that she was scared. That she loved him. He had let her go. They had split up. The last time he saw her, she was running down the main street away from him. To say he missed her was an understatement.
Dean sighed. He knew the look on his brother's face all too well. He saw it in Castiel's face when they first said I love you or when they had their first kiss. He knew Sam loved Mia. He knew that Sam wasn't going to give up on her yet. "We'll keep looking for her, but you shouldn't get your hopes up. She might not even be in Lawerance anymore." He said softly. He got up and went to the kitchen; looking in the fridge for a beer for him and Sam.
Sam sat there and fiddled with his bracelet. It was a silver chain with a small charm, a small silver puzzle piece with the words "I'm his person" engraved on it. Mia had given it to him on Christmas last year before the war started. He sighed and brushed his hair out of his face, waiting for Dean to come back.
"Hey Cass." Dean called. "Come here."
Cass, the angel boy with the wedding band, chuckled, got up, and went to the kitchen. "What is it, Dean?" He asked. He went over to him and tilted his head. "I had to make sure Sam couldn't hear this. but look what I found while looking today." He pulled a bracelet out of his pocket that was identical to Sam's, except this one said, "I as said quietly. He looked at him. "So she is out there somewhere?" He asked, confused.
"Somewhere. But if her bracelets are off, she might be in trouble." Dean stated. He sighed. "Come on. We'll go back out there tonight and look for her. I found this by the church. She could be hiding there." Cass nods and kisses his cheek. Dean blushed. Seven months they had been married, thirteen years they had known each other and Cass still had the ability to make Dean blush madly. Dean looked down, stuffing his hands in his jeans pockets.

Cass took the opportunity and put a hand under his chin, making him look at him. He peaked his lips softly. Dean smiled and kissed him back. "We should go back soon." He said. Cass hushed him and kissed him. He smiled. "Cass..." He said.
Cass pulled away and hugged him gently. He laid his head on his shoulder. Dean chuckled. He wrapped his arms around him protectively. "You're a big teddy bear." He mumbled.
Soon enough, the two walked back to the war room and sat by Sam. The green-eyed man looked at the others. Dean handed Sam and beer. "You need to drink something." He said.
"I'm fine, Dean." Sam said. He wasn't. He hadn't slept since the war started. He barely eats or drinks. He was always out in Lawerance, looking for her. He sipped the beer. "I'll be in my room." He got up and set the beer down. He walked through a door, down a hallway, and took a room. He closed the door and sat down on his bed. He looked at his phone. He put in a phone number and called. He wasn't expecting an answer, mostly because it was Mia's number.
The phone rang.
And rang.
And rang.
Same sighed. He laid down on the bed. He let the voicemail go to hear her voice again.
"Hey It's Mia Harvelle. If I didn't answer, I probably am at work. Just leave a message, and I will call you back when I can."
Sam sighed and hung up. He had left at least ten voicemails already.
He laid his phone down on his stomach and stared at the ceiling. He missed her so much.
A knock on his door pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Hello?" A little voice called.
He got up and rubbed the tired from his eyes. He opened the door and saw the little girl standing there.
"Oh. You're not my uncle!" She said a bit shocked.
Sammy smiled softly. "No. But I'll help you find him."
He held her hand and walked with her.
"My daddy's not here."
Sam looked at her.
"He's out there. Out in the ruins. That's what Daddy calls it. He went to find my cousin."
Sam frowned. He picked the little girl up and held her. "What's your name."
"Ashlyn." She spoke, leaning on him.
"I'm Sam." He sighed and took her to the war room.
Dean was there with Cass and the man from the ruins. Sammy sat down, setting the girl in the chair next to him. She immediately got up and climbed into his lap, holding onto his shirt tightly. He sighed. He held her.
"Sammy." His brother's voice broke the silence. "We're going back out there in a few hours."
"I'm coming." He said.
Dean grumbled. He looked at Cass, who was looking at Sam. "No, Sam." He said. "We're just double checking our steps from yesterday. Make sure we didn't miss anything."
Sam shook his head. "I'm going out there. Mia is out there somewhere, and so is her dad." He said, gesturing to Ashlyn.
Dean rubbed his eyes. He knew he wasn't going to win this fight. "Fine." He sipped his drink. Cass looked at Dean. "Dean..." He groaned and grumbled.
"He'll take his own team. We've got plenty of people here. We need to go get supplies anyway. You'll go lock for her dad, we'll go get food and water." He said. "Probally need some more blankets too." He mumbled. Cass looked at Dean. He looked at the little girl.
She clung to Sammy tightly. Sammy smiled a bit. He was happy. He wouldn't admit it, but he did enjoy the little girls' company. It reminded him of Mia. Her innocence. He would find Mia, even if he had to destroy the whole town to find her.

Her head was pounding. She was lying on a bed. She tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through her middle. She hissed. A week she had been here. A group of men and a woman had found her in the rubble of a church and brought her to a makeshift hospital.
She sat up and held her stomach. She looked around her empty room. She stood up carefully and grabbed the iv stand. She carefully walked her way to the door.
Her chest was wrapped up nine ways from Sunday. She had her jacket on. The doctor had said she had broken a rib.
She went to the door and opened it slowly, grabbing the handle.
"Mia." She heard a voice from in her room. She turned and looked at a woman who was in a chair, sipping something out of a wine glass.
Mia watched her closely. Long brown hair that was pulled into a ponytail. She had on a grey business suit. She closed the door and looked back at her. "Who are you? Who did you get in here?"
"My name is Naomi. We need to talk."
