Prologue

“Earth used to be a beautiful planet” spoke a man in a well dressed suit looking down upon the broken ground city from the sky faring lands.

“Yes but i doubt anyone even remembers what it looked like, much less how it looked before it was completely developed” another man in a suit spoke, standing slightly behind the first

“Hm, i suppose, it has been nearly a century since the Great Wars, and about another half century since anyones seen the bare earth”

“Of course you don’t count do you” the other man smirked” you’re older than even the sky cities”

“Hah, don’t make it seem like im that old, man of the other council members will outlive me, and i was just a boy then, barely old enough to wipe my own ass” the older man chuckled “ but i suppose compared to all these young ones i am quite old”

A silence fell on the room as the two men stared out the window, only broken by a ringing from a large desk from behind the two men.

“Hey old man, thought you said nothing was supposed to happen today?” the younger man questioned

“Quiet John, but your right nothing was supposed to happen today” the older man frowned as he approached the desk, the communicator on it blinking in a blue light.

“ what do you want Natasha, no one was supposed to bother me today” the older man grunted

“ I apologize sir but there’s an emergency that requires your, and the entire council's attention for that matter.” the composed voice of Natasha game through

“An emergency that requires the entire council, what happened, a scuffle between the council, a failure of multiple farm sectures, an engine failure?” the Council Head calmly spoke

“No sir, it seems to be an extreme energy signature that's been detected surrounding the earth, currently we’re still not sure what it is, but it’s outside of any readings we’ve ever had” Natasha remained calm and collected throughout her brief.

“Energy signals stronger than any in our history surrounding the planet? Impossible there’s no more technology that would even let us escape the atmosphere.” The council head muttered to himself. “ let the council know I'll be arriving at the meeting room in 5 minutes. I expect a document briefing me on everything and the head of the science department at the table.” The Council Head spoke while motioning to John

“ Do you want me to contact the Head of The Defensive department sir?” Natasha asked

“No he’s here with me currently, he needs to get all defensive measures up and ready just incase, however he will be on call with the council meeting just in case” the Head the said whilst nodding at John

“Yes sir i will notify the council” Natasha said while terminating the call.

“John I need all defenses on the sky cities ready just in case, I don’t want anything to be able to slip past.” John nodded as he headed to the elevator connected to the Heads office

“Hey old man keep me updated” John said as the elevator closed on him.

The Council Head took one last look outside the window while thinking to himself ‘and I thought I would be able to die without seeing any more wars in my lifetime’ , a bitter smile resting on his face as he headed to the door leading to the council meeting room.

At the same time down in the barrens, a young man splashed with blood was sitting on top of a pile of groaning bodies while staring at the growing colors in the sky, thinking to himself about how beautiful they were compared to the gray steel buildings surrounding him.

“Oi runt you know you ain’t getting away with this shit right?” one of the beaten men below him spat.

“Really? I don’t think I’m that much of a runt. I mean you’re smaller than me right?” the kid said while smiling down at the the bloodied goon

“When Ollie gets his hands you-”

“Hand, he doesn’t have the other” the kid interrupted

“What?” the goon asked

“Oh he didn’t tell you?” the kid asked “Last time he tried me, I ripped his right off”

“You what!?” The goon shouted, eyes widening as he did.

“Well it doesn’t matter, looks like somethings happening” the kid said while staring up chuckling

“The hell would you know, you psychic or somethin” asked the goon asked while staring up at the bloodied kid

“Maybe, It’s just a feeling I get whenever anyone tries to attack me, just this ones not as bad” Shrugging as he said it. As the young man watched the sky he really hoped whatever happens added a little bit more color to this bland world.

As the entire the world watched on, the council and others in the Sky Cities and the groups in the Barrens watched on, they all saw the same message appear before them
