The Girl and the Wolf.
In a small village there lived a girl who stayed with her mother and father near a forest. Now in this village the towns people had a legend of a great hairy beast that roamed the forest. Now some of the towns people would tell their children about the legend to keep them well behaved. The legend goes like this.
Once upon a time in this very town there lived a creature, half man half wolf. Now he didn’t always start off like this. Him and all his brothers and sisters were normal, his mother was normal, and his father was normal. His real name was jonnie wolf. He was constantly playing tricks on people, even his own brothers and sisters. Always letting the farmers cattle and sheep loose and other times pretending he was becoming a wolf on the full moon. One day he went roaming in the woods alone when he saw an old lady washing an old cloth outside her house. Now everyone knew the old lady and respectively called her grandma. The locals thought she was a witch. And every October she’d go down to the village to buy apples for her pies that she’d later sale. Now Jonnie being Jonnie decided to trick the lady. He’d go to the village and switch the salt and the sugar making her pie bitter and salty. Not soon after grandma came into the village to buy some sugar and apples for her pies. When she took them home and backed them they were made to perfection, golden brown with nutmeg sprinkled on the top. She packed all 22 pies and went into the city to sell them. One day the king came down to the village to see the citizens and decided to buy a pie. Instead of taking it home he took a bite right there before the whole village after being told that grandma made the best pies. After tasting it however the king grew furious and banished the old lady from ever selling anything in his kingdom again. She later went back to her house in the woods, but before this she put a curse on whomever tarnished her pies. “For the fool who tarnished my beautiful pies. Cursed be you and your seed forever. You shell become a beast like a wolf and do what he does. You shell be hideous and furious all the time. And if your family wants to prevent themselves from sharing the same fate, the first born of each generation shell deliver unto me pies. All which must be better than mine. If I do not except the pies the curse shell remain on you and your family. But if I do, all but you, whoever you are shell remain under the curse forever. Feeding on would be travelers who come near the forest. “After saying this she went to her home and no one ever heard of her again. Jonnie feeling sick ran desperately towards the woods and became a hideous beast half man half wolf in the sight of everyone. Looking at his mother he said the words sorry and disappeared. His mother went home immediately and backed three pies and gave them to her children to deliver. Grandma did not except and the curse remained on them until this very day.
Instantly Goldie became skeptical and went into the forest. She met the wolf along the way. She was not afraid nor was she frightened. Instead she looked as though she was safe. “What big ears you have. “Goldie said. “The better to hear you with,” said the wolf. “What big eyes you have?” “The better to see you with my dear,” said the wolf. “What big nose you have? “The better to small you with my dear.” What big teeth you have? The better to protect you with my dear. Said the wolf. Along the way they met a wood cutter, who was the uncle of Goldie locks. He then repeated the same thing to the wolf and the wolf replied in the same manner. Then all three went to deliver the pies to grandma, just as the wolf had done with her descendants before her.
