Richard stopped at the corner of the tunnel. In front of his eyes, in a room, goblins were lost in their feast. He divided them into four groups of four. The first group was eating flesh by the fire, while second was fighting between them with bare hands.
The third group was absorbed by pleasure, which they gave out all of their desires. Women with dead eyes, without legs or arms, and even limbless... alive dollies. Richard's face darkened..., and when he was ready to jump out, something stopped him. He shook his head and came to his senses: '...T-that was close.'
Next, his eyes fell on the last group: 'Guards.' The group with full armor and swords: 'It will be nice to lure one of them here.' Richard thought.
For now, he decided to find different paths to goblins’ lair, because three tunnels were connected with this room, and the passageway in which he was hiding now, was located in the most disadvantageous place for his plan.
He walked away.
Grumbling echoed within his stomach. He grabbed his tummy and furiously tried to find a prey. Eating a goblin was beside decision other than that it was prohibited. His father told him that monsters’ flesh is very poisonous, and even small bite could send a grown man to the grave.
So Richard searched every recess, he came in contact with.
After one hour of torture, he caught a rat and set a fire in a place, where he fell into the dungeon. He used capped roots, a dagger with a rock and dried rags. It took him some time before he could make a fire, but when he did that, he nearly yelled out of joy.
With the rat of the size of his head, he could fill his stomach without a problem. Rat’s meat was very chewy, so it gave him hard time to eat it, but he did it without whimpering.

Richard licked a bone and threw it in the fire.
He stood up and went deeper into the dungeon.
The darkness enveloped him. He could barely see anything, only the tip of his nose.
One of his hands was always in contact with a wall on his left, while second directed forward so as not to collide with a wall when he met with a turn.
*Squish~~* *~Squash~~squesh*
Richard froze in place. He gulped. It was a slime, he was certain of it because there was only one monster who could make the sounds of squishing jelly.
His father told him that to defeat slimes, he must destroy a core, which continuously is moving within the slime as it jumps. If not, the slime will be without an end replicating its jelly.
Secondly, for some reason they have very good hearing, but they don’t feel anything as they don’t see anything, it was stupid Richard thought, when he heard that, but in this world, there are many monsters, which have never been seen by humans.
So the only way to get out of this alive was to slowly, without uttering any sound, moving forward, praying to not stumble upon slime.
Richard’s heart was beating like crazy. He didn’t see anything, if he starts running away, he could meet with a wall and lose consciousness and wake up without legs. Only thinking about it sent shivers down his spine. And even if he wanted to make a fire, how? He didn’t have a torch or necessary materials.
So he thought of a new plan. When slime begins to jump, he will be walking at the same time. It calmed him a little, but he was still nervous because for slime it was situation win-win. If he makes a sound, the slime will eat him. He can’t see anything, so slime will eat him. Real disaster.
*~~Squesh~* *Squish~*
He made few steps. He could feel his heart still beating like crazy, so he put a hand on his breast, which surprisingly calmed him down.
*Squash~~*
Another few steps. The slime was slipping away.
And finally, after standing for few minutes, Richard didn’t hear anything.
He sighed. He was relieved. He could continue his walk.
