Normally, I’d let Hiro do his stuff alone, but honestly? This time he’s going too far.
“Tadashi!” he shouts from upstairs with an enraged tone.
I simply sigh and sip my cup of coffee.
“Tadashi!” he shouts again and comes running down with his eyes filled with hatred and Deathwish towards me. “Where did you put my instant noodles?”
“You’re eating too much of that crap, I ain’t having it.” I answer while giving another sip.
“I’m trying to find a special coupon!” he exclaims flailing his arms around.
“Eat a thousand, get one free?” I ask with a chuckle and ruffle his already poofy hair.
“Stop it!” he slaps my hand away and sighs. “You wouldn’t understand.”
“Then explain it to me.” I ask while looking at me. “What is so important that you’ll endure an epic stomachache and made you spend all your savings?”
Hiro simply turns away and growls while marching to his dorm.
“You know you can simply ask me to ask my friends for help, right?” I ask with an amused smile. “I mean, Gogo would be the only one who’d eat only a cup, but everyone else, specially Fred, would be glad to help you!”

He sighs and starts climbing to our room again.
“Is this because of that special manga?” he freezes on his way up. “’Cause I might have found it.” I say while taking out a thin piece of plastic. “That special number of Sumo no Tea Time that otherwise would cost over 50 bucks to get?” he slowly turns around. “The one fully colored, hardback and signed by the mangaka and his team?” I look at him with a smug smile. “And has the pilot episode of the anime?”
“How… Where… Why… Who?” He asks completely gone.
“By eating at the University, at, well, the University, because I was hungry and only had half an hour to eat, I ate it all by myself.” I answer while waving the coupon. “I was thinking of giving it away but-”
“Giving it away!” Hiro shouts with a heart attack about to happen. “Tadashi you won the deluxe copy of the last manga of that series! You can’t just-”
“Maybe I could sell it.” I interrupt faking concentration. “People would kill for it.”
“I’ll kill you if-”
“Or maybe I could give it to you, if and only if you stop eating cupped noodles for the rest of the year unless extremely necessary, you go to the doctor immediately and you let me watch the anime with you.” I say with a broad smile.
“I’ll take it.” He says while running down and snatching it from my hands. “Thank you, Tadashi!” he says while hugging me tight.
I simply laugh out loud and hug him back.
We went later that day to the manga store and I couldn’t help but feel happy for Hiro, when we got home, we put the disc on the player and… to be honest? It was good, simple humor, simple animation but Hiro loved it.
I’m not that much into comedy, I’m a drama or adventure anime but just seeing Hiro’s smile and eagerness to read the manga makes me feel happy and warm.
He’s my little brother and I love him. So whatever he loves, I love too… probably.
