“The next few pages have been damaged by the rain.”
“That’s alright. I know how it ends.” Faria said, gazing out through an open window.
Through the rain, a pale, white bird flapped its wings before perching on the windowsill. A small tube had been tied to one of it’s legs.
“Why do you insist on reading this tale so frequently?” Another woman was seated on a bed in the corner of the room, holding a book. “It is only a children’s story.”
Opening the tube on the bird’s leg, Faria took out a small roll of paper and unrolled it. “It’s far more than just a children’s story. I’ve lived through its pages. I’ve seen the truth in the ink.”

“Only parts. In this time, though, everything has followed the path, though vaguely.” Faria explained, patting the bird on the head. “Levi still hasn’t found any sign of my brother.”
“If he can’t find him, then your father shouldn’t be able to.”
“That isn’t certain.” Faria frowned. “The story merely says that they will be found. It doesn’t where or by whom.”
“Is it important that we find them? You have studied these texts far deeper than I.”
“I’m not entirely certain.”
