Out on a lonely sand hill stood a young boy. Staring out into the Sand dunes as far as the eye could see. The boy kept his gaze mesmerized by the vast land spread out ahead of him. Without any warning he broke his watch on the shifting sands and ran back to his home.
"I thought you would be late but you are always on time for dinner." said a brown-haired middle aged woman. Not in her youth anymore but still kept her beauty.
"I can always tell its time for dinner by where the sun is." said the young boy.
"So knowledgeable at the tender age of 8, has that old beggar been teaching you again?" the
"Mother, he's not a beggar, he is an old adventurer who has sailed seas and crossed the continent, how could you say such a thing?" the boy said with a hint of anger in his voice.
"Now now Jaime, he might've been the king of a faraway land but now he is just an old man with no money and only lives on the food you’ve been giving him." His mother had said.
"It’s a fair trade, I give him food and water, and he teaches me how to hold a sword, shoot a bow, forage for herbs, how to make traps and catch game." the young boy said.
"Its like I'm the one who is taking advantage of him."
since he was 5 years old Jaime Xandros had lived in the backwater village known as Rashar in the lands of Shar of the southern sands with his only beloved mother. It was a not poor but not wealthy village that they had called home.
"Even if you are being taught by him you should not always be beside him, go out and play with the other kids, you are a kid remember, go and have fun while you can." his mother Rosa said.
"Did you have fun when you were my age? I thought you told me of how you were already selling in the marketplace when you were 8?"
His mother had told him that she had used to live in the capital in the Central Kingdom of Arthan and was a merchants daughter.
"I was not happy with it and hoped my son would have the time to play as I didn’t." she said.
Jaime had not say that since he was the only boy in the village that had a widow mother and the fact that he was brown hair and golden eyes and tan skin but not as dark as the rest of village who had black hair and black eyes he was often isolated from the rest and sometimes bullied. His mother, himself and the beggar were the only ones that were quite different from the villagers.
"I like to learn from old man Sarius, he also tells me of his great adventures he took when he was still a adventurer." Jaime said in hope to appease his mother.
"well alright, just don’t believe every story he tells you, more are probably tall tales than what had really happened."
"after your done with dinner go say your prayers to the gods and go to bed we have a lot of work to do tomorrow." Rosa said as she cleaned her plate.
"ok" Jaime said with no complaint.
Jaime finished his meal and went to his room and silently prayed to the gods and went to sleep.
His mother still cleaning up after dinner thought to herself. 'I wish he could have joined her new life in this desolate village.' she thought as she remembered the man who stole her heart, saved her life and had given her a new life to love.
Early the next day Jaime was doing his exercise routine old man Sarius had told him would sculpt him into a fine swordsman. Right now he was doing his running and worked up a sweat. when he was done with his exercises he would find Sarius who was usually on his his cottage roof sleeping or staring out into the desert.
"your done already huh? I thought it would take you another half hour, looks like your training is showing." Sarius said with no actual enthusiasm in his voice.
"I guess your waiting for me to show you some new moves" Sarius said.
"I may be old but I'm still a expert rank water swordsman" Sarius had said with pride.

In the world of Terra Magic was very rare and magic for combat was about nonexistent all gone from the world when the demons and their allies had invaded their world 3000 years ago. when Elves and Dwarves were commonplace. When the Demon King Hades had set forth to rule the world the Humans, Elves, and Dwarves came together to fight their common enemy. They had Killed Hades, his family and sent the demon coalition back to the Fallen lands where great human kingdoms had been annihilated. The cost was great, humans had lost half their population with countless kingdoms fallen, the elves had 3 great forests where they had lived and protected, 2 had been burned in the fallen lands and were nothing but ash, the elves retreated to their last great forest in the far east where they had become isolated and had never left their sanctuary. The Dwarves had lost many great dwarven kings and were too weak to defend their kingdom from the humans they knew would become greedy overtime and take their land so they had gone underground sealed the exit and never came back. They are only myths legends now.
Sarius had taught Jaime the basics and a bit of water style which most mercenaries used. Today was a normal day for Jaime who liked to stick to his routine of Training in the early morning, helping his mother with her livestock and her tailoring which was her profession in the village in the afternoon. He had free time during lunch time and he would either continue his sword practice or see if any villagers needed any help. He wanted to be welcome in the village and thought that by helping the people they would accept them. today he was helping Mrs. Silas with her animals.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"I'm all done Mrs. Silas ill be heading off now." Jaime said as he cleaned his hands.
"thank you young Jaime, its hard for me when the Mr. is out to go to the city to buy medicine for me" Mrs. Silas said.
Since Jaime he turned 8 felt something calling him in his home. One day he went to discover what exactly was calling his soul. He had never felt such a thing but he knew whatever it was it got louder everyday. It made his soul ache to find out what it was. He ventured close once and found where it was hidden but his mother had called him and so he left and would try again another time.
As he went home he had found that his mother was sleeping and he knew this was the perfect opportunity. Ever so quietly as Sarius had taught him to be treading lightly without making a sound he had gone to the storage room and quietly opened a secret compartment in the house. what came out was a long object that was covered in cloth that made sure no eyes had seen what was underneath. Jaime had untied the string holding the fine cloth and he gazed upon what had made him sneak around his own home. what was underneath was a long scimitar. A curved blade that was etched with runes on the blade and had traces of fire red along the blade. The hilt was laced with red and silver stripes. Jaime gazed upon this awe inspiring sword and wondered how could such a thing be here in possession of his mother. How had she gotten such a thing? He pondered this when a tapping sound was heard at the door.
"So you finally found it, He didn’t lie when he said his blood would call it to him." his mother had said as she stood by the door.
"Mother I'm sorry, its just I've been hearing it telling me to find it for some time now and had to know." Jaime said frantically trying to make his mother understand why he sneaked around.
"Your Father had said this would happen when you got older, I didn’t believe him and thought it was just a joke but now..... now I understand what kind of man he was." Rosa said as she looked into the sword as if it held a void.
"My father?" Jaime said. Rosa had never told him about his father except that he had saved her life and gave her a new start here in Rashar. If Jaime asked about him she would just change the subject or tell him to do some chores. But now she was talking about father and this mysterious amazing sword.
"Jaime I think your old enough to know the truth about me and your father, and how I ended up in this village." Rosa said while Jaime was thirsting for what the answers to all the questions he had about his family.
"Let me begin........." Rosa told her life story.
Even though she was just a humbles merchants daughter she was said to have the beauty of a god and was sought after by noblemen. One was so distraught and angry when he was refused he had sent his men to kill her family and take her to him. on the day that had happened she was selling wares in the marketplace when a hooded man looked upon her with not lust but of pure love. That man had fought the nobleman's soldiers and saved Rosa from their claws. Unfortunately he could not save her family from slaughter and was all alone in the world. The Mysterious savior had taken it upon himself to rescue this woman from a fate worse than death and told her he would take her someplace safe. they headed south but after the death of the nobleman's soldiers the nobleman had told that a man had killed his men and kidnapped his fiancé and offered 100 gold coins to whoever would get his head and bring her back. The nobleman himself led the manhunt but the mysterious man was cunning and made false trails and evaded many hunters on their journey all while keeping Rosa safe. During their journey Rosa and the mysterious man had been in love with each other and both wanted to start a life out of the kingdom and decided on Shar the Southern lands. When they had reached the border of Arthan and Shar's kingdom of Barsia the nobleman was already upon them. The mysterious man knew they wouldn’t make it so he went through a narrow pass that went through the border. He told Rosa to head first into Barsia and wait for him. Rosa did not want to part with him but she knew he did this all for her and knew how cunning he was and believed he would come back to her. Before she took off he had given her his sword and said:
"This sword will be for our son, when he is old enough the sword will call to him and it will be his"
He slapped the butt of her horse and sent her off with a smile while she cried. He knew it was going to be a battle of 1 against an army and he was still smiling.
"This sword belongs to you now Jaime. Your father will be smiling with the gods when he sees you with it" his mother said forcing a smile
"He said that you need to bind your soul to it with your blood first"
as his mother had said he had cut his finger with the long blade and it was too sharp he only need to touch it. As soon as he fed the sword the blood its red streaks glowed hot and runes circling Jaime's right wrist had been burned into his flesh. It was painful and Jaime let out a cry but as soon as it started it finished and in its place red runes were in his skin.
The Beautiful blade had now transformed to a smaller version to fit the 8 year old boy.
"He also said that you must give your blade a name and it will come to you" his mother had said.
The boy stopped and heard a name in his mind, it echoed every time it was said. the boy held his new sword in his hands looked into it and saw his soul and said:
"Fate Bringer"
