At the cave, Robert laid down on the ground while Yuna rubbed his wounds with pounded herbal plants. After she rubbed all the wounds, she used leaves to cover them. By the time they were done, the sun reached its peak.
Richard woke up while rubbing his eyes. His eyes were still blurry for a while. When he realized what happened, he walked toward Robert and crouched. He looked all over Robert’s body.
“Who did this to you, Brother?”
Robert changed his position from laying on the ground to leaning against the wall while sitting.
“Magic beast.”
“Magic beast? But, we never meet them in the past two days.”
“The thing is… Ah, forget it. Someone explain it to him. I’m too tired.”
He closed his eyes trying to sleep. Yuna sighed then explained the situation to Richard.
“What? How is that possible?”
“I also don’t know the reason.”
Sharon walked in from the outside. By the look on her face, she knew what they were talking about.
“Anyway, let’s collect the materials to upgrade our cave,” Sharon said.
“Let’s go!”
“I’ll guard Robert and Grid, for now,” Yuna said.
Both Sharon and Richard walked out of the cave and surveyed the surrounding area for useful materials. They didn’t dare to venture too far from the cave since the situation was still dangerous. Richard chopped some trees while Sharon collected the fruits and herbal plants. They walked back to the cave slowly while carrying the materials. Fortunately, nothing happened during the journey.
Richard grunted as he dropped all the wood he carried while Sharon heaved a sigh of relief. He wiped the sweat on his forehead then smiled at his own hard work.
“I think these materials are enough.”
“These herbs and fruit are also enough to feed us for today until tomorrow.”
Hearing what they said, Robert opened his eyes and looked at the materials they brought to the cave. When he saw the wood, Robert sighed and shook his head.
“Those wood are not enough, we need stronger material. Let’s gather some stones.”
“Stones are too heavy, we don’t have enough time to collect them,” Richard said.
“Don’t worry about that, I will make a carriage from those wood.”
Robert stood up slowly and when he walked, he almost fell. Luckily, Yuna caught him before he faceplanted himself. Robert could only chuckle at his suffering.
“Please don’t push yourself too hard.”
“It’s okay, help me walk for a bit, please.”
Yuna helped him walk to get closer to the materials. Robert sat down near the wood and started processing the materials. Starting from the wheel and the part to store the materials. Lastly, he made the frame and handle. Everything was made of wood and tied together with vines. By the time Robert finished the cart. His face became haggard and his eyes looked like a panda's.
“I used too much mana. Hahaha.”
The final product was similar to a wheelbarrow you could find in a construction store. But, instead of metal, it was made out of wood. Robert smiled and gave a thumbs up to Richard.
“You can use this thing to transport the stones now.”
“With this, I’ll get as many stones as you want, Brother!”

Richard walked outside with the cart hurriedly since the time was tight. Sharon also followed him to help. Outside, they collected any stones they could find. Surprisingly, the cart was strong enough to hold so many stones. Richard raised his brow in confusion after he went back and forth to collect stones.
By the time they were done, the sun was almost set. They collected so many stones and the wheelbarrow didn’t break.
“Brother, what did you do to the wheelbarrow? It could hold so much load.”
“I put some of my mana on the vines. That’s why it becomes stronger. The same way as I enhanced my punch by channeling my mana to my fist.”
Richard nodded after he heard the reason.
“Now, let’s build a wall to protect the cave entrance.”
Robert picked a stone and sculpted it until it had a flat surface on both sides. Then, he showed it to the others.
“Since I’m running out of mana. I could only give you an example. Please sculpt all the stone until it has a flat surface like this one. I know your mana control is not as good as mine. But I’m pretty sure you all can do it if it is just this much.”
They stared at the stone Robert sculpted and tried themselves. After a while, they sculpted a lot of stones. Sharon and Yuna sculpted the stones decently. Meanwhile, Richard sculpted them recklessly just like always. Fortunately the stones Richard sculpted were still usable.
Since they couldn’t create concrete. They stacked the stones together to build a wall at the entrance of the cave and left a small hole as a way to go outside. Robert created a door made of wood to cover the hole since there was no stone big enough to cover it. Just like that, their base was completed.
Everyone sighed and stretched their body to relax. It was so dark inside, they couldn’t see anything at all. So, they made a campfire near the entrance to illuminate the cave.
“Finally, we have time to relax,” Richard said.
“True, let’s eat! I’m hungry!” Yuna said.
Sharon took some fruits and gave them to everyone. They ate the fruits ravenously like there was no tomorrow. When they were busy eating. Grid opened his eyes and breathed heavily. Yuna noticed him and ran quickly to him.
“Where are the others, Yuna?”
“They are eating over there.”
Yuna pointed to the campfire. When Grid glanced at them, they waved their hands while smiling. He chuckled at them. He tried to stand up and walked to the campfire too. When he reached the campfire, he sat down together with the others. Looking at them all, he smiled.
“What did I miss?”
“A lot,” Robert said.
“Yeah, you sleep all day long. Hahaha.” Richard said.
They chatted for a while. Until a beast made a loud screech.
“Screech!”
All of a sudden, everyone narrowed their eyes. The earth was shaking. They could hear the sound of a footstep getting closer while the shaking was getting harder. Robert kicked the campfire to put out the fire.
“Robert, what are you doing?” Sharon said.
“What if that thing saw the light from the campfire?”
Everyone shuddered at the thought of it. The footstep kept getting closer and closer until it finally stopped right at the front of the cave. Nobody dared to move an inch. Robert glanced at the others. Everyone was shivering except Robert. He took the chance and walked sneakily to the entrance door. Slid the door a bit and he took a peek at the beast who stayed outside. Robert’s eyes almost popped out when he saw it. He slid the door closed again then he walked back to the others. Furrowed his eyebrows while holding his forehead he stayed silent.
“We’re f*cked.”
Those were the only words that came out of his mouth. He couldn’t think of any other words to describe the situation.
“What kind of beast is it?” Richard said.
“It is a mountain drake.”
“What? Mountain drake should never be in this place.” Sharon said.
“I’m also confused. Did they teleport us to the wrong place?” Yuna said.
“Anyway, we can’t do anything about it. The best bet is to stay in this cave until the drake leaves.”
In the end, they sighed and stayed silent.
A night passed by quietly as they didn’t want to alert the mountain drake. They thought everything would be okay after a night passed. Sadly, it got worse. Really worse than what they had expected. They could hear beasts’ screeching all over the place. Robert took a peek once again to see what happened outside. Beasts were roaming the area. They were fighting each other, some even brave enough to fight the mountain drake.
“It gets worse, we won’t be able to leave this cave.”
“How many of them are outside?”
“Too many, I couldn’t even count them.”
They waited again for the whole day. Resources were enough, they had food from yesterday’s foraging and water in a stone tub Robert sculpted at the time they found this cave. Because of that, they didn’t have to worry about resources and stayed at the cave relaxing.
When the night came, it rained heavily. The beasts screeching cries were dampened by the sound of the rain. The smell of blood was gone, replaced by the smell of dust combined with the rainfalls.
They could feel the earth was shaking. The shaking caused Robert to quickly peeked outside.
“The drake went away.”
“Finally! We could go outside tomorrow.”
They all smiled and danced like an idiot. They ate fruits more than usual to celebrate the happy occasion. Late at night, they slept like a log. But, nobody what happened outside. The water in the river started to rise slowly but surely.
