A world guided by the stars

Chapter 1

In the earliest point of the day, the streets of Star coast city were full due to the sheer number of people roaming through it despite the early time. Along with people the streets were filled with a cheerful and festive mood.

on the sides of the streets were stands that sold a variety of accessories, foods, trinkets, etc... though the main topic of the masses was the special event that is taking place that very day.

Star coast city got it's name because of the main attraction of the place as well as the vast coast that the city was built on. this was where one of the Star telling cathedral stood, a Star telling cathedral was a large building comparable to the size of a small castle. The bricks, glass, and the wooden floor used to build it was nothing short of prehistoric but it still holds up to this day. But it's main purpose was to tell the formations of the star and foresee an individual's fate, just as it's name suggests.

As to who built it, when it was built and why it was built in the first place, no one truly knows why.

Star coast city's popularity came because it was built around the Star telling cathedral.

And the reason as to why it is held of such hing importance is because the head priest residing within the cathedral will activate the large black ball at the main hall of the cathedral, also known as the Night crystal, and let youths know of their fate through marks.

This event is known as the Star call festival which takes place once every year. And due to this very event, many youths and aged men flock in the Star coast city to either participate in the event or simply spectate.

At the foot of the hill, there was a stair case dozens of meters wide that led up to the top of a small hill. It was filled to the brim with youths making a line to the top in the hundreths. some brought an umbrella with them to combat the seering heat while others straight up came half naked to cath some breeze, ignoring the disgusted faces of female youths looking.

If one persisted through the line miraculously, one would find dozens of stalls waitng above. This wasn't meant to organize the different genders, origins, social status etc.... No, all the stalls had the same purpose, to let those who wanted to participate register. The true reason for the large amounts of stalls there was to separate and cut the line into more manageable strands. in the center of each strands stood armed guards guiding the participants, regardless of gender, to different stalls.

Some could not take the blistering heat and outright complained but soon stopped as no matter how much they screamed, yelled, and complain, no one heeded them anyway.

In a secluded alley near the sea, 3 young men were running quickly, they seem to be chasing someone of their age, he was wearing a light cap that were tattered along with his clothing, though they looked quite decent compared to his worn down cap.

"Hey, get him! The ceremony will start soon!" The young man in the back yelled. Though he looked to be the weakest one physically he seems to be the leader.

He wore flashy clothes in contrast to the one they are chasing. It looked like the clothes are specifically prepared for that occasion.

"Y-yes!" The two young men in front of him nodded and started to speed up little by little, leaving the leader behind

[Darn it! I'm supposed to be your leader here, why am I being left behind? Oh this frail body of mine....] The leader was angry but could only grumble as it was his very order for them to speed up.

The other two young men was also getting tired as they ran for nearly ten minutes, and we're close to collapsing.

[How in the frickin' hell is he so darn fast? Is he even a kid of our age?]

[He runs like a veteran soldier, how are we supposed to catch up to him?]

Both young men cursed in their minds as they slowly lost their speed.

"Hey scamp! Fight us if you dare! Don't just run!"

"Yeah! Don't be a chicken!"

Both of them are at their wits end so they could only act shamelessly.

"Oh? " The young men in tattered clothing looked back then stop dead in his tracks..
