Life beyond death

Life beyond death

The idea of death was always something that John didn't like to think about, not because he was afraid of it but because he did not know what there was beyond it…until now.

Blood began to spill from his skull, pouring down onto his forehead before finally reaching his eyes. His clothes, filled with dirt, were torn into pieces by the rubble that was crushing his body. Everything began to shake violently, just like a moment ago when he was enjoying his coffee inside his favorite cafe. Of all the things in the world, all the unfortunate events in his life, he never guessed he would die due to an earthquake.

He couldn't keep his eyes open any longer, death at this point is inevitable, the only thing he could do is wait. And so he did. Focusing on his thoughts, flipping through the pages of memories from the distant past as he waits for the cold embrace of death. There isn't much to look back at, only the image of a broken man struggling with his own life, unable to change anything.

His thoughts continued to float around in his head until they completely faded out and were replaced by only silence and darkness. He didn't feel scared or worried. In fact, it's the opposite, calm and relaxed. Then, just a moment later, from within the infinite void, a light appeared. Small and round like a golf ball, the light spinned around in front of him like it was looking at him. Then, it explodes, shining through the dark abyss and blinding his vision with its might.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

"Brrrr…"

The sound of raging waves was deafening to his ears as his body was engulfed by it. The cold water felt like needles piercing into his soft and smooth skin. He tries to waggle his arms and legs around to resist the might of the wave but to no avail, for he is in the body of an infant, something like that cannot fight the unstoppable force of a raging river.

"OH GOD!"

Through the waves he can hear a scream, the scream of a woman. Inch by inch it begins to sound louder and louder until it's right next to him. And from above, two frail hands shoot down and drag him out of the freezing water. They're soft, warm, and full of life. They pull him closer to the chest of the woman and make him hear her heartbeat.

"Thanks, God…Thank God that he's still alive".

Then those two hands lift him into the air. Where he can see that in front of him is a young woman with bright blond hair and dark blue eyes.

"I will never leave you again, my dear Julius!" she says as she brings him into her arms. After which she walks away from the river.
