When virtual reality, nicknamed VR, was first released, it took the world by storm.
Heralded by many, criticized by many, the uses for VR affected them all whether it was used by governments to communicate without ever leaving the comfort of their offices, doctors and researchers alike attempting to discover what may have been impossible at breakneck speed, or the masses simply playing a game. In a world where money ruled, virtual reality became an escape for many.
Soon after VR was introduced, major video game companies began to come up with massive online games, better known as VRMMO. Tens of millions of people played various games, but one game dominated the popularity charts ever since it was released: Fantasy Unlimited.
Fantasy Unlimited, sometimes ridiculed as FU in the online community, quickly shot through the charts boasting realism and unlimited possibilities within the game. The company that created Fantasy Unlimited was ever popular due to their uncanny ability to figure out what the masses wanted in the games and added those into the regular updates. These updates also brought a story line that never seemed to end as well as adding ever realistic content and options for players.

That was until the five year anniversary of the game. Fantasy Unlimited creators revealed that the game was ending and their servers were going to be shut down, never citing any real reasons as to why. This prompted mass outrage and by the hundreds of thousands, players quit angry for all the wasted time spent on the game. Only one day was left before the end of the game, but there only remained one player online wanting to ride the game all the way to end; and he was the number one ranked player in the entire game: Cyrus.
