It's easy to vanish into the darkness, and for several tense seconds you wait, as far as you can get from the shaft of light, and listen for signs of movement. But you hear only the gentle trickle of dirt from the hole above, see only dust motes floating in the light. The air smells of cold earth and fresh blood. You are alone.
"DARK NUNS!"
It's Laikan, the redsmith's son, looking down on you through the hole. Nauthia appears beside him, then vanishes, shouting for help.

As people move around above, more dirt spills into the chamber you're in. This cavern isn't permanent; unless you get out now, you fear the whole structure may collapse and become your tomb. You'll need to climb.
Though the way out is a mix of crumbling dirt and loose rock, you could reach it by climbing up one of the idols, probably Kadomis. The dirt is full of roots, and if you're strong enough and know enough about how root systems work, you should have no trouble with the climb. Or you could get on Amiria's head and leap dramatically from her to Mithi's outstretched arm, then back up to the surface. That would be impressive but dangerous. Finally, any sensible person would just yell for help! It may not be heroic, but it's safest.
