In the days before the Onyx Obsidian War started it was becoming more and more apparent that Lord Kazai was not as prepared for battle as King Ingvar. Kazai ruled his side of Fenrir as a true, honorable ruler would. He protected his people, he made sure they would be prosperous, and he did everything in his power to prepare them for life during the inevitable war. While Kazai ruled as he should, Ingvar was gathering the most ruthless fighters in all of Fenrir.
Lord Kazai knew he had some true warriors among his army, but not nearly as many as King Ingvar and if he wanted to win this war then he would have to fight fire with fire. So, Lord Kazai set out with some of his samurai and searched high and low on the East side of Fenrir for the strongest warriors.
That’s when he met me in a tavern just outside the Stone District. I believe Kazai and his men were done with their search for the day and just relaxing when I approached them. Some people took issue with how Lord Kazai ruled, but most of us respected him and to be honest held him upon a pedestal. In a sense, he was the closest thing Onyx had to a celebrity. Everyone knew about the battle on Sha’aire and everyone just wanted to catch a glimpse of him.
I was lucky enough to share a drink with Kazai and his men. That’s when Lord Kazai told me he was looking for the strongest fighters in the East. Obvious by the fact that I just had to meet Lord Kazai, I am a bit of a sucker for heroic tales and legendary individuals. Hoping I could help out in the upcoming war in a way that didn’t involve fighting, I offered to tell Kazai of a story.
This story was one about a beast of an orc named Razmigg. Orcs on Fenrir were known to live for a very long time, practically tripling the lifespan of a typical Fenin. Razmigg was no exception and he lived during the era where four legendary beasts reigned on Fenrir. Beasts brought to life by the gods and goddesses worshipped here. One particular beast was known as Emberrak. Said to be born from a claw of the wolf god, Enror, Emberrak was a monstrous legendary wolf.
Emberrak terrorized Fenrir many years ago starting from Genin, in the West, and working its way all the way East to a town on the coast of Onyx, known as Fate. Needless to say, the people of Fate were caught by surprise when the large beast arrived and in mere moments the entire town was crushed. While those capable of fighting gathered at the edge of town to make a stand against the monster, Razmigg emerged from the crowd.
Razmigg stood almost double the size of the people of Fate standing behind him. Broad shoulders and a body that looked as if it was chiseled from stone. On his forehead were two small horns protruding upward that held up some of his long black hair that cascaded down his shoulders. Unlike most Orcs whose weapon of choice was a large battle axe, Razmigg used a well-crafted spear. Some even say the spear is one of legend. Bestowed the name “Amyriad,” Razmigg’s spear was said to be so heavy that only the monstrous orc himself was strong enough to wield it.

Across from where Razmigg stood, Emberrak grew restless. While Razmigg towered over a typical Fenin, his size paled in comparison to the magnitude of this monster whose origins tied directly to a god of war and battle. Fire ran down the spine of the beast and in the few places that it had skin, the skin was dark red and leathery. Despite looking as if it was one with the flame, it was as if the fire on its own body left it scarred and ruined.
For the people of Fate this standstill felt like an eternity, but in reality, it only lasted a few moments. Having ravaged their entire town, Emberrak was ready to finish the job. The beast rushed toward Fate’s people and Razmigg, but the orc cleverly drew Emberrak’s attention elsewhere. By waving the large Amyriad in Emberrak’s face, the giant wolf pursued Razmigg to the edge of town. A large cliff with the crashing sound of the Fen Seas beyond it.
Razmigg readied himself and Emberrak charged toward him. The orc ducked the first bite from the beast and drove Amyriad upward into its throat. Emberrak roared and its drool seared some of Razmigg’s skin. As he removed his spear Razmigg was thrown aside by one of the beast’s paws. The force of the swipe was so strong it launched Razmigg off the edge of the cliff. Razmigg stuck Amyriad into the side of the cliff and held himself up. He could hear Emberrak draw closer step-by-step.
The earth shook as it closed in on him and when he looked up, he could see the face of the wolf peer over the side. He braced himself, knowing full well the wolf would try to finish the job. The moment Emberrak put its head down to bite him, Razmigg used his feet to push off the cliff and jumped past the beast, up and over. An orc this large should not be able to jump so high and when he landed, he cracked the ground beneath him.
The impact tore a line in the cliff on the opposite side of Emberrak and despite its desperate attempts to hang on, the beast plummeted into the Fen Seas, its flames extinguished forever. The piece of land that broke off became a tourist attraction in Fate. Which Razmigg stayed to help rebuild after it was destroyed by Emberrak.
I believe Lord Kazai enjoyed my tale, but also questioned its legitimacy. He wondered where he could find the orc and I told him he spent his days in Fate still, acting as their protector. If he wanted to win the orc over and the town of Fate, he would need to offer them similar protection as their ruler. Needless to say, the talks must have gone well. As war draws near - the legendary rematch between King Ingvar and Lord Kazai on the horizon - Razmigg stands beside Lord Kazai... as one of his Chosen.
