Truly unforeseen

Truly unforeseen

Ari sat in a large room meditating with her eyes closed. In reality, she had revisited the battle between the little girl and the storm dragon. In her vision, she slowed everything down and dutifully observed every one of their movements. Her aim was to learn as much as she could by observing experts at such a high level of cultivation. She had to admit that she was not disappointed. She ended the vision with shining eyes and went straight to jotting down her observations.

Xasha, a few feet behind her, sat at his desk frantically jotting down his own observations and theory of pieces of paper. Outside, everyone had gone back to frolicking on the beach. Alexi and the little girl, Ari affectionately named Axia, were busy playing underneath the giant tree left behind by Livell.

It had been well over a day since the end of the battle, but Xasha elected to stay there, rest and realign before continuing their exploration. Their experience before, while the outcome was favorable, was undoubtedly a tragic one. Everybody needed time to readjust, and there was more to this place than what met the eye.

That "more" was enough for the elves and the others to kill each other for. That "more" was being protected by that "Storm Dragon." Xasha wanted to find that "more" for himself, as it was no doubt something extraordinary.

Xasha tossed down the feather, organized the papers carefully, then made holes on the edges. He took gold wires and pushed through the holes after slapping a hardcover of the front and back of the book. When he was done, he took up the feather pen and etched it into the wooden cover. Imperium manipulation technique vol 2.

He then tossed it to a pile of similar-looking books with titles like Eleven combat techniques, Mulan people combat techniques, Low people combat techniques.

He stood from his seat and walked to the exit of the room. This was a temporary mansion made by his people. He wanted to jot down every detail he witnessed before any of it slipped his mind. This was too important, and every second was worth its weight in gold.

Xasha made it to the door, turned the handle, and pulled it toward him. The moment he did, he saw a bolt of lightning flash past him, over the ocean and into the horizon. Xasha didn't hesitate for a second before he chased after the bolt. As it was something he recognized, he wasn't mistaken.

Ari noticed her father's actions and ran to the door. She had just stepped through it when a shadow flashed past her, heading in the direction her father left in. With a thought, the man froze in midair. Another pair of shadows charged over but crashed to the ground suddenly.

Ari looked over to see one-meter-long needles pierced through the men's hands, feet and shoulders. She could tell those needles weighed several dozens of tons based on how hard the men were trying but couldn't move. A muffled sound came from her right and she turned to find the man she caught on the floor pinned down by the same needles.

She looked over to find Shay in a bikini, still holding her drink, looking back at her with a confident smile. She wasted no time and disappeared. Shay knew she had gone after her father. Everything had happened in a second. Everyone only noticed when it was over.

"Capture these guys and secure them properly." She said to Lisa. "Everyone else with me," and with that, she disappeared, and everyone followed her.

Lisa shook her head, she'd noticed everything but did not react fast enough to stop it from happening. Metal wires formed before her and it went and wrapped the three captives from head to toe.

She then rose in the air with her captives floating behind her and sped over the ocean in the direction everyone had left in.

Due to her baggage, and the fact that she had her guard up against any unforeseen circumstances. Lisa had to lower her speed and extend her perception out to protect herself. She flew for miles without seeing anyone, but she was not worried as she could feel everyone's aura off in the distance along with something... else.

She sped up towards her friends. The aura was powerful, much more so than the Storm Dragon before. After a few minutes, she saw a lone island in the middle of the ocean. All the auras were on that island. The peaceful atmosphere of the island made Lisa's tightened chest loosen.

She slowed down and lowered her altitude, passing over the island until she spotted Xasha and the others standing in a semicircle in a valley between two mountains. She landed behind them and walked over to see what they were looking at.

She pushed past the crowd to see but paused as everyone paused. She was shocked like everyone else was shocked. Her mind went blank, like everyone else's.

"This, this is truly unforeseen."
