Nora was at a loss seeing this creature. What was it exactly? It looked like it might be a darkling but it seemed much more intelligent than what she had heard was possible. Beelzebub smiled a little too widely , showing his sharp teeth. I see you are still digesting. I know I am quite magnificent! However we are not here to admire my dashing good looks. I want to offer you a deal my dear! Nora shook her head refocusing on the conversion. She had been looking at his horns and complexion lost in thought. A a deal? Nora managed to get out. Beelzebub nodded yes my dear Star Child a deal! But I suppose I should go over the boring details before I turn you into a killing machine. Beelzebub reached into his pocket and retrieved a globe that seemed much larger than what could possibly fit in his tiny suit pockets. Here it is my dear world! Nora looked confused and just looked at the blue and green globe. Beelzebub coughed, well I suppose you have never seen one of these then. That's not too important just imagine that this globe represents all of the settlements to ever exist! Beelzebub reached into his pocket and pulled out a yellow orb and tossed it into the air. It zipped toward the first globe and began to rotate around it. Nora’s eyes widened and she couldn’t help but ask. Is that the sun! She had never seen such a pretty depiction of it but it looked like an orb of light just like the stories. Beelzebub shifted uncomfortably. Yes this is what the sun used to look like anyway. But wait, this isn’t even the exciting part! Nora couldn't help but feel enthralled by the spectacle and asked what happens next? Beelzebub reached into his pocket and picked up a figure of what looked like a darkling with long black wings and a giant sword. For some reason its face had a really goofy expression painted on it. He then let it go and the figure began to fly towards the sun. This is my idiot brother Belial. He decided one day that he didn’t like the sun. The figure began stabbing the sun with its tiny sword. Then the sun exploded into fragments showering down onto the earth. Beelzebub smiled. I remember that day it was such a pretty display of fireworks too! Nora looked at the shards of the sun as they fell and winked out all over the globe. Nora looked confused. Is this why the world is so dark? Beelzebub nodded, yes and it was wonderful!! Imagine not having to feel the tiny pinpricks as the rays slowly disintegrate you inch by inch! It was truly a blessing. I think I managed to sleep a millenia without being bothered to darken the world. It was quite nice. Nora nodded thinking about how it would feel like to burn in the sun. It didn’t seem like a good thing after all. Then she realized she wasn’t scared, she wasn’t sure when it happened but this creature didn’t terrify her like it had when she first laid eyes on it. It seemed very expressive but not dangerous to her anymore. She heard a sigh release from the monster's lips and turned to look back at him. But its all gotten sooo boring, all I do is read and sleep. I cause a little mayhem here and there but the screaming of terror of the masses only helps for so long… Nora looked at him wide eyed. Who are you? She managed to get out. Beelzebub's smile widened, it's not who but what I am! I am many things and have many names. You can just call me Beelzebub though think of me as the closest thing to a god you will know but there really aren't gods not in the sense you are probably thinking anyway. But enough of that! How about I tell you why I'm here! I have an extra special deal for you! His voice emphasized each word. I want to bring the sun back! It would be such an entertaining thing to see my kid brother bake in the sun a bit! Haha yes! You Star Child are exactly what I need to get this all started! Nora seemed puzzled. You keep calling me that Star Child? What does it mean exactly? She shifted a little uncomfortably trying not to get lost in Beelzebub’s excitement. He shrugged and then packed the globe back into his pockets. It means you hold a part of the sun! Or something like that… Something about broken parts of the sun.. Beelzebub mumbled some more unintelligible words then looked up again. The part that’s important is that you can gather more of it! Which means we can make the sun whole again! Now onto the details of the deal. Beelzebub reached back into his pocket and pulled out a giant scroll which he let unravel to the ground. This contract allows me to empower you and awaken your abilities and in exchange you just have to search for the fragments and find them for me! Nora felt compelled to sign the contract even without realizing it. It was if this presence made her want to simply obey his will. Beelzebub’s smile widened. If you sign no one will ever be able to take advantage of you again. As far as my side goes I might influence you a little bit but you will decide your fate on your own. Nora stared down at the contract. She was tired of being afraid. She wanted people to respect her and bend to her will. Before she even realized she had a quill in her hand and the contract was signed. A small drop of blood spilled from her finger seemingly cut during the exchange. She looked up at the contract and saw it was signed in blood with her full name, Nora Night. Beelzebub cackled, hahaha yes my dear I think we are going to have a wonderful time of this! Nora looked up towards the voice but no one was there. Beelzebub was gone and the light of the torch was relit. She looked over to where the guard should have been but he was gone.
