Hey guys Magnus here, I’ve never truly experienced a lot of pain before. Being a true god had a lot of perks and I was literally immortal and permanent. Even with immortality and permanence, I shied at every appearance of pain, so I made every preparation to protect myself. So you’ll have to imagine the pain that I’ve been suffering this few days. It has been…. very excruciating.

The darkness is overwhelming.

I hear the screams of a thousand lost souls being gnawed on by the infinite horrors of the void. I don’t know how long I’ve been here and how much of my sanity has been chipped away. I float endlessly in the void, as I contemplate my very existenc. This void is empty but with my eyes, I can see and hear everything… every torture and every scream.

I see a large beast in the distance, it’s a felbeast. It’s huge frame and muscular limbs slowly move towards me. At first, it doesn’t know I’m here but the moment it does, it charges. I try to raise my hands to protect myself but I can’t and I only manage to scream as its huge gaping mouth is upon me.  

*Scream*

I suddenly jolt up as I try to grab the felbeast’s gigantic maw, only to be met with the cold forest air. I lower my hands to feel the ground and I feel the soft prickly touch of the dew tainted grass.

I look up and see the vestiges of the sky since it’s mostly hidden by the thick concentration of leaves but I see enough to know that it’s somewhere around dawn.

The last thing I remember was being locked out of my teleportation, running out of mana and then facing the tremendous power of the supercharged flame vacuum.

To answer my question, I hear a voice right beside me.

“Hello Lord Magnus” I pan my head to the right to see the familiar shine of the black coin that Elyis gave me a few days ago.

On top of the coin is a small young girl. A child would be a more appropriate description. A small child with brown hair is smiling at me with the most resplendent smile I’ve ever seen. She’s wearing a small yellow dress accompanied with a teardrop necklace and beautiful diamond slippers.

“Lord Magnus?” The small girl asks me again. I must look very confused right now but before any more time is wasted, I reply to her.

“Yes?” the small girl’s face immediately lights up and gives me that beautiful smile again. Did Elyis purposefully put that smile in? That’s one dangerous smile. That smile can launch a thousand ships.

“YES!!! Lord Magnus you’re finally awake and alive” did I die? I ask small girl that. 

“Yes and no…”

“Then… what happened?” I remember distinctly the scathing flames of the spell burning my body to ashes. At least, I managed to severely damage Dead-eye.

“I saved you Lord Magnus. Well you see Lady Elyis and the other Lords and Ladies told me to keep an eye on you. They are sure that you’re essence and soul is something permanent and forever but we do not know what will happen if you die with your current situation”

A proper judgment, Branac must’ve been the one to propose it. “Elyis gave me the ability to save you once and only once. The moment I save you from impending doom, I will be immediately released to help you on your journey”

“I don’t think I really need help” The small child pouts.

“… YOUU’RRREEE  SOOOO MEEEAAAN LORD MAGNUS” she starts crying. Did Elyis program this in...

“.....” I start panicking I don’t know what to do. This is a new experience. I have never dealt with any children before?

“H-Hey... calm down” the small girl isn’t calming down, she keeps crying.

“… YOUU’RRREEE  SOOOO MEEEAAAN LORD MAGNUS. I WAS CREATED FOR THIS SOLE PURPOSE.” The small girl is crying while shouting at me.

“Hey it’s not because you’re worthl-“

“YOU CAN’T UNDERSTAND THIS FEELING, NOT BEING ABLE TO DO WHAT YOU TRULY WANT”

“Huh, Lord Magnus what are you doing?” I raise the black coin up to face level so I can stare at her.

“Lord Magnus please don’t scold me.” The small girl is covering her face while stifling her cries.

“I know how it feels.” she moves a finger to peek through the hole.

“I know how it feels not being allowed to do what I want.” This time the small girl is looking at me determinedly.

“I don’t want that to happen to anyone else, so…” The small girl is smiling again with that beautiful smile while looking at me expectantly.

“… I’ll take you up on your offer”

*SQUEELL* the small girl jumps all over the small coin like she’s won an amazing reward.

“Thank you!! Lord Magnus. I promise I won’t let you down no matter what I’ll do my best to guide you in any situation no matter what” Smiling I nod towards her. Surprisingly her slightly incorporeal form is physical and can be touched so I reach out my hand and rub her tiny head.

“Nyu.. Nyu.. Nyu.. Lord Magnus that tickles” hehe this feels nice hmmm is this what it feels to have a child… I’ll have to explore that avenue in the near future.

I almost forgot I need to know her name.

“Hey” Small girl raises her head and stares at me with anticipation.

“What’s your name?” The girl ponders for a moment before looking back at me and speaks.

“My name is Absolution” Forgiveness huh? My sister really is a judge, she can’t even name something without connecting it to her. Well I guess I’ll have to call her another name or a nickname because Absolution will become tiring after some time, but before I could say anything.

“I will not accept any nicknames” Huh? How did she know my thoughts?

“Lady Elyis told me that Lord Magnus might not like the name she gave, so I should deny any orders or requests to change my name” … Clever girl

“So I’m not changing my name no matter what, I am Absolution!!! The ultimate guide” Absolution does a ridiculous pose. I can’t help but think she's very cute and amusing. It’s quite funny actually.

“pfft… hahahahaha” I start laughing.

“Hey H-“

“Hahahahahaha”

“HEY!! Why are you laughing” Absolution is pouting again with tears in her eyes.

Calming down, I smile at her. Maybe I’ll like having her around, she’ll be a good stress reliever. Then I feel it a gnawing feeling inside my body a feeling that I’ve never once felt before.

*GROWL*

Absolution stares at me with embarrassment.

“Lord Magnus, my scan says that your body has finally acclimated with your mortal state because of that you’ll need to regularly feed your body.”

“Really, is this the so called hunger?” Absolution nods. It’s a new the feeling can be summed up in one word. Uncomfortable, it’s like this paralyzing pain that will stop me from doing anything else unless I sate it with something filling.

“Lord Magnus you will need to find something to eat or else it will be dangerous towards you’re health” I figured but what do mortals eat? Gods don’t intake anything, what should I eat? I look around and see a rock. Do mortals eat rocks? Absolution must’ve seen how I looked towards the rock and immediately said.

“Lord Magnus rocks are not food, they are in no way edible. We need to find sources of food to sate your hunger.” I try using God’s eye on the things around me starting with the rock.

[Rock]

- It’s a rock.

[White Life Grass]

- Despite its impressive name it does not have any healing properties it is only named white life grass for its white tip and long life.

After a few more minutes of searching, I notice a difference with God’s eye, its back to being sealed again. After losing the temporary power I had earlier, [God’s eye] was immediately returned to its sealed state.

That’s disappointing, a full-powered God’s eye immediately shows me everything including what I could do with this rock. I heft the medium rock in my hand.

“Lord Magnus… Do you have a fascination with rocks?”

“…”

“Absolution”

“Yes Lord Magnus?”

“Where are my clothes?”
