Prologue
It’s another day working with no real-life goals. I’m 24 this year and yet I still live with my parents and my sister. I work at a tech support company that actually pays their employees properly but it’s just mindlessly typing on a computer for 10 hours a day, my eyes are sore because the last time I slept for longer than 4 hours was more than a month ago.
“Haaa, life sucks.”
“Okay sir, that’ll be $12.99. Would you like to pay by cash or card.”
“My eyes hurt ~ by card please.”
“I’d recommend the new eyedrop product that was put on the shelf last week, it works very well and you can buy one for only $7.99 and if you buy 3 you get the all-new exclusive panda figurine toy.”
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“No thanks. Bye.”
“Thank you for shopping with us, sir! Hope you come again!”
I left the store along with my frozen spaghetti and milk, my back was bent like that one grandpa down the road that screams at kids all day, I looked at the stars depressed as I fantasize about my perfect vacation holiday.
{Ding!}
[When are you returning with the milk?]
I looked at my phone and a text from my sister came in, she’s in high school but she keeps on playing all these ‘Otome Games’ and I often watch her play since I had nothing better to do in life, recently she’s been playing this game called ‘Golden Judgement’ which is about a Viscount's daughter who levels up by killing monsters to beat a capture target in a duel, it's 'the most efficient way to capture the targets.' I don’t know which masochist invented the dumb game but the graphics and game mechanics were 5 generations ahead of other games that recently came out, it was quite unfortunate.
I continue to worry about my sister’s future when it comes to men as I walked home.
“Hey! Oi! Watch-”
{Thud}
My legs... Pain... It hurts, damn it!
What is this? Am I dying? I had no purpose in life in the first place but damn, I could’ve at least finished that doujin.
“Hey! Are you alright?!”
A nearby bystander asked for my condition as screams ring my ear, I coughed out blood as a blurry figure approaches me, I need to make my dying last wish at the very least.
“P-please, t-tell my family…. To burn my desktop…. Never look at……..”
I mustered as much strength as I could to tell my dying wish before I lost my consciousness, I can die in peace now.
