I was asleep when I heard a knock on the door and then a maid walked in. Immediately i stood up from my bed. The maid then shivered when she felt my gaze on her. She then kept a slize of bread and tea for me to eat on the table beside my bed. Before she left the room she said my mother sent for me and then rushed out as if someone was chasing her. I don't even know what made her so scared. Though i know my mother always told me that i had this blank and penetrating look that shouldn't be on any girls face. Though I just rolled my eyes at her anytime she said it. Umm...thinking about it now maybe she was right.
After that i freshened up, took my breakfast and packed my things. I went to the sitting room and was met by the penetrating gaze of Sheila who was apparently my biological mother. I refer to her by name because I don't feel any familiarity or kinship towards her.
My father then looked at me and told me that my things where already taken to the car. He also told me not to worry that he had got a good accommodation for Sheila and I. He then turned to the girl staying beside Sheila, who is apparently their biological daughter. He introduced her as Regina and suddenly I felt her gaze on me and a chill ran down my spine. What I saw in her gaze wasn't malice or hatred but a genuine smile and immense sense of danger and indifference.
Apparently I don't have a good feeling about her but I didn't want to be rude. So I raised my hand to give hers a shake. Regina then stared at me for three second before she smiled and took my hands in her's. I was shocked that her hands was so soft for someone who had lived a hard life. The thing that surprised me the most was a twinge of black dots I saw in her eyes for a second as if i was being watched by something or rather like several eyes being on me. I felt pressured in her gaze which I hated feeling. Then as if something snapped in me and my gaze became clouded for one second before I regained my senses. Then I felt Regina tremble before me. She then left my hands as If she was scorched by fire. Then she regained her smile and said it was nice to finally meet me. I nodded my head and smiled at her. Though the smile appeared detached that was all I could manage to give her. From this encounter, I was sure of one thing which was that the only real emotion Regina showed was when she abruptly removed her hands from mine and showed a slight look of pain before she then recovered herself the next second. This exchange lasted for five seconds.

Surprisingly I saw Sheila approaching me while looking at me with love , gentleness, and sadness. She came and hugged me but I couldn't hug her back so I patted her back. While Regina went to meet my parents while shedding tears and she then hugged them and i thought what a dramatic reunion. My parents smiled at her and hugged her back and then my parents told her that she shouldnt cry and that they missed her to. Regina wiped her tears and told my parents not to worry anymore because she was here and she would take absolute care of them.when my parents heard this, they smiled and called her a filial child.
When I saw this I rolled my eyes at how dramatic they could be then I told my parents and Regina goodbye and left with Sheila to her new home.
I paused while walking out, then I continued walking with the thought that at least my parents had gotten a good pawn that could play their politics game very well. I just sighed and with both excitement and dread of what awaited me beyond this walls.
