Trust

The sky was filled with smoke, Ken bled as a spear of light went through him. The men with him could not escape the fate handed over to them by Ken.

"Is this really the end? Ah I wish I could've said sorry to mom and dad. I guess I'm about to meet them anyway"

Ken laughed while falling straight into the ocean.

"Huh? Where am I?"

Ken woke up with his body covered in white bandages. He looked around him to find countless things he had only heard of before.

"Oh you're finally awake. Took you long enough"

"Who are you?" Said Ken in a frightened tone

Ken finally got a good look at the woman before him. She was a beautiful young woman about the age of 13, her brown hair thick and long flowing behind her. Ken had never seen such a beautiful girl before.

"You're in wako city in the dato islands"

"Da-Dato islands?"

Ken felt a rushing pain going through his head. He was unable to think properly. He suddenly remembered his home.

"What happened to Jikan island!, My entire family and all my friends live there! WHERE ARE THEY!".

The girl bit her lips as if in pain, she held his hand and said:

"You're hometown was blown up by null organization, they always despised the irregulars. Null make decisions without the regard of others. The irregulars have always been treated harshly because of their status."

Ken was filled with despair, he couldn't muster up the courage to even speak. Everyone he ever loved were all gone. He felt guilty, he wanted to go back in time to apologise to his parents and accept the fact they aren't his real parents.

"But I've been wondering, what's up with those eyes of yours"

" Huh? My eyes? They're normal."

"No look at my eyes. This is normal, what you have is not normal."

Ken looked into her beautiful purple eyes. They were light enough to not be too prominent, but dark enough to bring out the beauty in her.

The girl looked up to Ken and with a slight smile on her face said:

"Mia, Mia Ohara. That's my name"

"Hu-huh"

"You were looking at me so I thought you wanted my name"

Mia's entire attitude felt forced, it was as if she was trying to smile to escape the burden being carried by her.

In a flustered manner Ken said:

"I'm Ken Itami. My eyes have always been like this, I've always felt different due to these eyes."

" Well Ken do you know anything about how you wounded up near the island?"

"I was taken here by some men with weird powers. I tried escaping but before I could I found myself soaring in the sky watching my home get blown up."

At this momen Mia felt pity and sorrow for Ken. She wanted to be able help him escape the sadness he had in his heart.

"I know! I'll take you to my grandfather. He's a well known Meoka user who has full control over his powers. He's awesome!"

"I don't know If I feel up to it. I just wanna stay in bed."

"NO! don't you want revenge? Those bastards from Null destroyed everything you ever had and you're gooing to stay here and lie in bed? What are you some kind of loser?"

"WHY ARE YOU SAYING THIS TO ME, WHAT CAN I, A WEAK BOY DO"

"Well you can either stay in bed and sob your life away or come with me to get powerful enough to destroy null. The choice is yours."

Mia's words hit Ken's heart like an arrow. Deep inside he knew he wanted to kill everyone who made him feel depths of hell.

"I'll do it."

"That's more like it"

Three weeks passed by and Ken had fully recovered. God knows how the spear didn't kill him. They two decided to meet Mia's grandfather in order to help Ken become stronger. Mia had already told her grandfather about Ken and his thirst for power and revenge.

The two made their way to the country side where he resided.

"Say Ken, I'm still a stranger to you aren't I? You only met me a few weeks ago yet you took my word when I told you I'll find a way to make you stronger"

".."

"Whenever my father got the chance to teach me things he used to. The one thing he always told me to keep in mind was to trust people based on my heart. The first time I talked to you I could feel a weight on your heart. Your tone might've seemed fun and exciting but your face looked terrible."

"How does that have anything to do with trust? Don't talk like you know me."

"I thought how can I not trust someone who's the same as me"

This was the last thing said in their conversation. They walked quietly all the way to the masters house.

They finally arrived.

"I've been expecting you"

An old man with white hair arrived In front of them. He had wrinkles on his left cheek and a beard only covering his chin. His eyes were bluer than the sky.

The old man seemingly disappeared from infront of them and appeared behind them.

He whispered into Ken's ears:

"I hope you're ready to die"
