A man sits lazily atop a chair. Eyes drowsy as if at any second ready to doze off.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, this is so boring!”, he yells as he stomps his feet on the ground stretching while yawning.
On the ground in front of his lofty chair was a pond. The pond reflected a picture of the world beneath him. Billions of living beings going about their daily tasks while having their privacy invaded without a single clue of it even happening.
The man stares at the image angrily yet knew he couldn’t do anything about it. After all like it or not it was his duty to watch over it.
To the inhabitants of that world the man was what they would address as a “God”.
A miracle creating all powerful figure who was worshipped plenty.
But, to the gods themself this was all useless. What good was being worshipped and loved if they were stuck watching over a world everyday? They had no vacations or even a simple weekend off. They don’t even receive a lunch break! They even had to eat lunch while watching over the world they were tasked to! This was enough to drive most people crazy. Sadly, being born a god meant having unshakable mental strength. They couldn’t go crazy even if they wanted to.
A single shift was 100,000 years. Then they received a one year vacation.
“These numbers just don’t work out”, the man covers his face with his hand as if he was about to cry.
“I don’t care anymore. If i’m gonna be stuck here for thousands of years I should at least find a way to entertain myself.”

With the lift of his hand he aimed a finger at a random location on the world.
“Hopefully this causes some action.”
-YOI CONTINENT
In a church a priest was holding a small infant. As the ceremony reaches its final step the priest raises the baby with both his hands up to the sky. At the exact moment a golden bright light gently falls onto the infant.
-GOD'S CONTROL ROOM
The man raises himself off the chair.
“How have I not have thought of this before? I can just create my own entertainment!”
After a deep stretch he walks up to a bookshelf and pick out a book.
“A bit of time will be needed before the fun happens. Might as well read a book.”
No longer filled with boredom but rather excitement he even decides to read a book which was something he had not touched in thousands of years.
The book he picked out was covered in dust. As expected for a book from a book shelf not touched in thousands of years. Not bothering to dust off the book he opens to a random page:
Rule number 13: No Guardian is allowed to in any way interfere with their world unless approved by a supervisor.
Consequences include but are not limited to:
-Extension of shift -Pay cut from salary
The man paused for a second then immediately turns to the cover. Using his sleeve he quickly wipes the dust off the cover revealing the words:
-"Guardian's General Guide And Rules Book"
Standing there the man’s eyes not longer filled with life but empty like it was before.
“Fuck”
