Master Custodian’s Faction (Varangia)
Main Base: Mount Varangia Dungeon Complex (includes the underground city).
Sub-locations: Unnamed Castle next to Castle Marcoir, Unnamed Fortress at the Undead Front, Mount Varangia Village, Varangian Embassy in Vyssium.
Located far north, Varangia is a harsh region with hostile magical creatures and weather. It is also home to a dungeon which was recently taken over by a dungeon core.
Leader: Custodian - The factory super-A.I. and current master of Mount Varangia. The ‘protagonist’. Enjoys making blocks and efficiency. It’s also trying to cope with its slowly developing emotions.
Drone 1, Princeps - The first drone. He usually serves as Custodian’s personal assistant, and always has the best gear available to the drones. Third tallest of all the drones due to the amount of augmentations given to him. Last seen at the Undead Front with Exarchi.
Drone 2, Magus - The magic drone. A straight-to-the-point drone who specializes in researching magic. He has ties with the Vyssian archmage Master Hetrick of Vyssia. Currently researching magic with Master Hetrick somewhere in Vyssium.
Drone 3, Smith - The smith drone. A drone who specializes in construction and production. Technically the current master of the unnamed castle next to Castle Marcoir.
Drone 4, Arcturus - The speed demon. A drone whose legs were replaced with hind legs, making him look more inhumane compared to the rest of his brethren (other than Minos, who looks like a mecha-troglodyte). He has a strange affinity to exploring unknown places alone. Last seen journeying to Hetten with Slayer.
Drone 5, (The) Erudite - The erudite. A drone who specializes in knowledge-keeping and research. Currently the teacher of the troglodyte vassals and technically the current master of Mount Varangia Village.
Drone 6, Weaver - The envoy. A drone who specializes in diplomacy. He’s usually found with Red at the Varangian embassy at Vyssium. Weaver has a strange fascination with organic behaviors and culture. Known to be able to tame wild animals.
Drone 7, Apoth - The medical specialist. A drone who specializes in organic anatomy and chemicals. Less of a doctor, and more of a researcher, he likes cutting organics up not to heal them, but to figure out better ways to cut them up. He also likes making things that cause a lot of damage like bombs and poison gas.
Drone 8, Exarchi - The commander. A security drone who favors grand strategy over personal combat skill or small-scale tactics. Highly biased towards his own drones, he’s willing to sacrifice everyone just to make the lives of his drones easier. Last seen at the Undead Front with Princeps.
Drone 9, Niner - The prospector. A drone who specializes in production and… organic herding. Has a cheerful personality and a loud voice, which puts him at odds with Slayer sometimes. He is quite open to organics and sees them favorably - manpower-wise, that is.
Drone 10, Slayer - The warlord. A security drone who favors a mix of tactics and personal combat skills. Among the three security drones, Slayer is the most balanced. He also tends to be serious, which puts him at odds with Niner. Fourth tallest of all the drones. Last seen journeying to Hetten to set up a base.
Red - The foreign drone. A drone which looks like Custodian’s own drones, but colored red. Red was initially found inside a coffin in the Mount Varangia underground city. She tends to be extremely emotional and expressive, and apparently has a locked databank which Custodian is slowly unraveling. Usually seen with Weaver as his assistant.
Drone 11, Minos - The specialist-at-arms. A security drone who favors personal combat over anything. Barely commands his own troops, and favors organic troops whenever possible. He is also Custodian’s first Daedelus-type drone, created from a scout drone. Strangely, he is as brutal as he is friendly to troglodytes. Formerly the biggest of all drones, Minos stands almost three times taller than the average drone, and is clearly modeled after the troglodytes.
The ‘Weapon’ - ????. A recently acquired drone stolen from the Church. Looks like a giant multi-armed crocodile. As of Chapter 84, the tallest drone of all, just beating Minos by a few centimeters. Not much is known about this drone.
Troglodyte Vassals
These troglodytes have given themselves to Custodian’s drones. As of now, they are Custodian’s only organic force. They live mostly in the captured troglodyte villages or in Mount Varangia Village.
Razugotter - As of now, the chief of all troglodytes under Custodian’s lordship. Chief of Mount Varangia Village and the Gotter Clan. Currently waging a war against his former troglodyte overlords in an attempt to free his brethren from their tyranny.
Torvogotter - A prominent young high troglodyte who proved to be a strong warrior.
Zilopohili - A baby high troglodyte with gray skin. He smells like iron, according to Razugotter. Currently under care by Gotter clan troglodytes and Niner. Technically chief of the Pohili Clan.

Located north, but not far north like Varangia, Vyssium is comparably much more hospitable with plenty of light forests and plains. The people of Vyssium are usually red-headed, though there are exceptions (not counting the baldies such as Master Hetrick).
Leader: The Iron Chancellor of Vyssium - Not much is known about this person, other than the fact that a lot of Vyssians respect them.
Sea’axfeared
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
Gerard fal Sea’axfeared - A tall Sea’axfeared who met the drones when he and his party tried to explore the Varangian dungeon for lost treasure. Though somewhat naive at times, he’s shown to have a good head over his shoulders. As of now, he is trying to compete for succession for the Central Sea’axfeared family.
Dyvona fal Sea’axfeared - A woman who met the drones and she and her party tried to explore the Varangian dungeon for lost treasure. As of now, her location and status are unknown.
Priestess Elena - A young priestess of the Humanosian Faith. Highly amicable to the drones for saving her life when she and her party tried to explore the Varangian dungeon. She also told Archpriest Agrianos about the drones. Last seen at Rhankia.

Aefelred fal Sea’axfeared - A bearded middle-aged mage who was initially wary of the drones but grew to like them, to the point of bringing one of the drones to Vyssium’s magic college (known as magisteriums). As of now, he has ties with Magus.
Eoforwic fal Sea’axfeared - Head of the Central Sea’axfeared Northern Manor. He is known fondly by many Vyssians as ‘Old Man Wick’ and is a local legend among warriors. His hot temper and vast experience makes him a formidable foe even for someone like Slayer, though it’s obvious his peak has long passed. Currently lords over Northwest Rhankia.
Ecgbert fal Sea’axfeared - Head of the Central Sea’axfeared family. Despite being an old man, he’s still kicking about, trying to manage and control the rising Central faction. However, his health is deteriorating fast, sparking the succession contest for the Central Sea’axfeared family.
Lord Otto - A prominent lord of the Sea’axfeared, he withdrew from the war against Rhankia early in favor of selling his already-gained loot. He was last seen bringing Slayer to Hetten.
Other Vyssians
Master Hetrick of Vyssia - A Hall of Orthaem archmage. Known to be friends with Afelred. He’s extremely fascinated with how the drones interact with mana and magic in general. Currently experimenting magic with Magus.
Oyuf af Kentfeared - A Kentish warlord, Oyuf met the drones at the far eastern Undead Front during the recent Searing (crusade). He has a knack for treasure and risk, and leads a warband of eager fanatics. Like many Kentfeared, his favored color is orange.

Rhankia
Capital City: Rikkenhotten
Known sub-locations: Castle Norwind (taken by the drones and Vyssians), Castle Marcoir (recently bought back), Northwest Region (lost), Western Region, City of Saint Sallus (Cathedral of Saint Sallus)
Rhankia is a vast nation dotted with rivers and hills. Many of its people are lorded by nobles and a strange sub-noble class known as the serjents. Not much is known about the serjents as of Chapter 84, other than the fact that they are Rhankia’s finest warriors.
Leader: King Leosif the Third. A shrewd man, he once baited the Rhanks to attack Castle Marcoir to root out his opponents.
Prince Orwulf - The prince of Rhankia. He is Leosif’s only son. Last seen leading the Great Rhankish Army to eradicate the enemies invading Rhankia.
Princess Imma - The princess of Rhankia. She is Leosif’s only daughter. A very aggressive and bold woman, she once charged into an entire army by herself just to punish those who defied her father’s orders not to attack Castle Marcoir. She is currently residing in Vyssia as the Rhankish ambassador to the drones. She seems to have plans for the drones… and the throne.
Alleigh - Princess Imma’s swordoath (bodyguard). She follows Imma almost everywhere as if she wants to take over Imma’s shadow’s job. She’s highly loyal and protective of her to the point of following her in her charge against an entire army.
Count Marcoir - An eccentric count, he has a strong mix of respect and hatred for the drones because they trashed his home. Currently one of the princess’ supporters despite her stance on the drones, but who can really say?
Lorferd - Count Marcoir’s right-hand man. His main duty is to retort to Marcoir’s eccentricness, but he’s also known to excel at assisting his liege with high competency.
Baron Clovis - A Rhankish noble who died defending Castle Norwind from the drones. His blue sword now belongs to the drones, particularly in the hands of Princeps (though it changes hands between Princeps and Slayer whenever the two can meet up).
Duke Villbrod - The marshall that was in charge with defending Rhankia against the Vyssians and the drones. He suffered from a major setback when he tried to take Castle Marcoir from the drones. Known to be targeted by King Leosif. As of now, he understands a bit more about the drones, probably more than any other humans at the moment.
Duke Hoerbert - Duke Villbrod’s rival. Not much is known about him.
Agnes - A little girl that snitched on the drones to Princess Imma when the drones literally stole her entire village after killing its inhabitants. Last seen under Princess Imma’s care.
Archpriest Agrianos - The Archpriest of the Cathedral of Saint Sallus, he is one of the important people of the Humanosian Faith. Though a powerful mage (or something similar), he isn’t a warrior so he buckles under pressure in combat. Partially understands the nature of the drones, and is willing to cooperate with them. Last seen fainting from exertion at the Undead Front during the battle for Exarchi’s fort.

Troglodytes (Tilapola)
Capital City: Tilapola
The troglodytes, or Tilapolas in their native tongue, are a race of frog-like people who live deep within the Mount Varangia dungeons. They live in a state of destitute (except for those living in the capital city), and have a rigid caste system. Their religion and culture revolves around a mysterious god only known as Tilapola. The race is divided between the intelligent and large high troglodytes (tilapolas) and their opposites, the troglodytes (polas).
Leader: High Priest Tenokotle. A small high troglodyte, Tenokotle is a very careful person and sees the drones as a massive threat to the existence of the Tilapolan people. Extremely traditional and cares greatly for his own people.
Huatotle - A very large warpriest, Huatotle is a veteran general who oversaw the border fortresses of Tilapola until he was recalled to protect against the drones. He has great pride and is stubborn, though not to the point of disobeying his High Priest. He’s known to carry around a bronze mace. Last seen trying to find a way into Custodian’s dungeon complex, though it's likely that the civil war has forced him to give up this plan.
Kuisotle - A priest of Tilapola, Kuisotle has a snarky attitude and thinks polas are nothing more than animals. He’s known to cover himself in a lot of vines. Last seen recovering from his injuries at the capital city.
Monsomon - Died during the battle to push the drones out from troglodyte lands.

Alaria - A location east of Rhankia. The Alarian people are known to be just a bunch of poor tribals.

Great Peninsula - A peninsula far south of where Custodian is at. Home of the Great Republic.
The Great Republic - A nation known to be the strongest in the entire continent. Not much is known about them, other than the fact that another dungeon core is attacking them.
King Zigisma - One of the kings which answered the call to arms for the latest Searing. He respects Archpriest Agrianos but is extremely cautious of the drones. He is the leader of the Zigisian people.
