They reached another massive cave. Their small lights couldn’t display it entirely, but a large house would have probably fit. In the center, there was an orange light, like a fire, and people were around it.
The team to save, maybe? Finally?
They walked to meet them. They were three. The fourth one must have been the dead body they had seen. One of them was a frontline fighter, like Ran. Another was a healer like Nila, and the last was a sword wielder, like Aien.
However, something was wrong. They were on their guards. They made Aien’s group hide behind the rocks.
“Prepare yourself, it will come back,” said one of them.
Aien glimpsed over the stone. A giant mass was moving in the dark… he couldn’t see it properly.
"What is that?" he said.
"Stay down!" said the leader of the other group.
In the blink of an eye, what resembled a laser beam crashed against the stone guarding all of them.
"This thing fires light with the eyes. The glares penetrate the rock like spears," he added.
A thousand-eyed giant snake, with eyes everywhere on the body, alongside a giant hive of a thousand snakes.
The walls moved around them, like a swarm in the darkness.
They were dumbfounded… There were no stories of such a Beast.
"What’s the plan?" Aien asked the commander.
He answered: "My blade gathers thunder! Bring the things close, and I’ll strike them down. Now, quick! Before the rampant army can be here!”
The massive serpent got closer, slashing the stones with razor beams. The group waited until it was near, while the swarm rushed on all sides.

The commander pointed the blade toward the moving mountain. The explosive blast ripped the air like a thundershock.
The belly of the beast fried, hidden behind a wall of flames, and a ring of fire appeared all around them as a cover. The titan shouted waves of beams everywhere, from every eye at once, and the sharp lasers sliced in all they hit, as the creature squirmed in pain.
The bombardment of light dug profound wounds in the cave walls, and they witnessed, stunned, the ceiling starting to crumble in a stone storm.
"Up there, on my mark!" shouted the most experienced explorer.
A shield of light formed over their heads, blocking the deadly rain. The snake swarm withered, crushed under thousands of rocks, and blazed alive by the flaming lights, in a tornado of stone and fire. Then, other snakes fell from above, flowing through the cuts, only to burst open on the ground, at their feet.
The titan attacked again!
"Shockwave, keep it at bay!" said the commander.
Lise unleashed Hell, like fireworks.
The worm was thrown away... but came back! The thing crawled fast, scratching its dead eyes on the floor, ignoring the fall of the sky.
What could stop it...!?
“Now it’s my turn!” said Aien.
He jumped over the front line of shields, not listening to commands!
Sword at hand, he expanded it to the size of the demon: A pillar of light splitting the cave in half, pointed to Heaven, while the laser beams ripped furrows all around.
"To Death! And may the dead welcome me in their realms!"
He ran to the beast to keep it at bay from others. It kept rushing uncontrollably. Aien stayed in the burned and blind area to avoid the eyesights.
The thing reached him… The body was as big as a cliff... And the hailstorm kept pounding the ground all around, like a landslide.
Aien planted his sword in the belly of the beast, piercing deep, then slashing to the side, cutting the bone. The giant head crashed on the ground, on the carpet of broken stones and red corpses.
A wall of dead eyes before him. Victory. And the rocks stopped raining.
He watched his teammates, in relief. Yet, he heard noises, so he checked the sound…
All the eyes were looking at him. The hundreds could still see!
"Ru..."
FLASH
He saw a white light…
His sight became black...
Then, he was on the ground… He saw his friends all around… They moved fast… did they say something? He couldn’t hear…
So he said: “It’s okay, I’m alright… It doesn’t hurt… I feel nothing…”
And his mind drifted away.
