As the majestic sun rose, light poured from the open window to the side of my bed. Waking me up from my dreams. After blinking a few times, I lazily opened my eyes and got out of my bed. A morning yawn unconsciously exited from my mouth.
"And so begins yet another day." I mumbled.
After studying all night, it is no wonder to be tired after all. Honestly, I think that I'm the most diligent one in my village. If you excluded the deceased ones, that is. That old Harsh'al was too damn diligent, it's like that his very definition of entertaintment is doing his job.
I opened my bedroom door, closed it yet again, and walked down the stairs. Opening the front door of my house, the warm sight of morning Traeshaar greeted my eyes. Green grass wet from the rain last night and dirt road connecting the houses erased my drowsiness. While walking into the eating grounds, I greeted fellow villagers on the way. All of us was heading towards the same destination. It was tradition to eat together there, after all.
The green patch of grass ended. The members of my village gathered around campfires while sitting on top of dirt. Smell of warm, delicious, freshly cooked foods entered my nose. Childrens gluttonously devouring their food, unable to wait to play with the other childrens that had finished eating. Joyous chat, giggles, jokes, and banters were thrown around. Some of the Elders preferred eating in peace between themeselves while enjoying the sound of youths.
I walked to my circle of friends and sat down.
"Arriving late as usual, Karsh?" Said Braersh, a friend of mine who probably just arrived a few seconds before me.
"Eh, care to take a look at a mirror? I stayed up all night, trying to make some sense of an Ancestral Word." I replied.
"You both came late, we just finished eating the oh-so delicious Krapperfish." Tragsh joined in, reminding Braersh of the Krapperfish.

"What? I forgot about the Krapperfish! How can you all be so cruel?"
"Heh, your fault. In the first place, the Krapperfish wasn't caught by you. It was me who caught it. Who can resist the temptation of a Krapperfish, anyway." Said Kosh with a smirk on his face.
"The taste was godly, I can assure you. It was one of the best food I ever had." And there goes the last of my close friends, Orthos, trying to incite the late comers envy.
As for me, I only sighed on losing the chance to eat a Krapperfish. Food isn't one to be fought for when your life isn't on the line. I left my friends to their own and ate my food quietly while feeling regret tugging at my stomach, reminding me of all those rumours about the taste of Krapperfish. If only I didn't woke up late...
A few childrens played near our circle. Slashing imaginary swords and spelling self-made Ancestral Words.
"Slash of the Dragonwarrior!" I heard one of them shouted.
"For this me, the Shaman Harthos, that is nothing. Burn to ashes, Toor Shul!" Hmm? That Ancestral Words actually sounds familiar.
Anyway, the Shaman Harthos huh? Most of the kids dreams of becoming Warlord, Dragonwarrior, or Shaman. I too, dreamt of becoming a Shaman from 14 years ago. It was the result of the spectacular might they've shown and the exagerrated tales of them from the Elders. Even until now, I was still pursuing my dream.
I finished eating my food and put the plate down.
Seeing me finally done eating, Kosh asked a question.
"Hey Karsh, I found something interesting near the place I found the Krapperfish. Wanna tag in and find out what it is? The others had agreed to join."
I considered my choices for a moment and agreed, "Sure, I've got plenty spare times before The Trial."
"Come to the northern gate after you guys geared up. I'll be there half an hour from now. See you guys later." Kosh said while dusting off the dirt from his clothes.
We splitted up and went to our own home to gear up.
After getting inside, I went to my training room and picked up a scimitar. For my armor, I used a light leather armor I bought some months ago from Orthos. I slashed the air for a minute, fighting an imaginary opponent. I grabbed some supplies and double checked them.
"Time to enjoy some exploration I guess." I said to myself with a smile plastered on my face.
I've always loved exploring as much as learning, as I could learn new things and actually do something with it while exploring. And maybe, just maybe, I could find the opportunity to catch a Krapperfish. Even if it was a rarity. This could also be a practice to prepare myself for The Trial.
"Oh Ancestors, please give me with luck as much as Kosh's."
