CHAPTER 61: THE DRINKER'S HEART IS NOT IN THE CUP
She thought what she said was clear enough, who knows James Franklin smiled and said: "If something goes wrong, it's my responsibility, and the credit is yours. After all, I still believe Miss Lawson." Mr. Brown also smiled and encouraged her: "Mr. Franklin said so, Cathy, you can promise him and this is a good practise opportunity."
Cathy laughed stiffly and complained hard in her heart, she didn't want this opportunity. In a few months, even if she could conceal her pregnancy, she would not dare to continue working, how dare she take the big project casually? But now they both said so that she had no room to refuse at all.
James Franklin and Mr. Brown did not know that she was pregnant, but Tyrone knew that. He frowned slightly and looked at James Franklin with a forced smile and said: "Mr. Franklin, I admire your courage, but if you entrust a small manager with the task of hundreds of millions of dollars, are you not afraid of losing your money?Even if she is strong enough, she is just a newcomer with only three years of work experience. Even if Mr.Brown is in charge, he should be careful. Your trust is somewhat biased."
Several of the people present did not expect that he would suddenly interrupt and looked at him in unison.
James Franklin picked up his eyebrows and curved his lips and smiled faintly, "I heard that LT Company also cooperated with Vanten Technology Company, it was also Miss Lawson's correspondence in the middle. Is Mr.Raman not practise favouritism?"
Tyrone ate his own dishes and said casually, "Maybe Mr. Brown is encouraging new people. If it were me, I would not use her."
Cathy, "......"
Was the man helping her or mocking her intentionally?
James Franklin laughed, "Maybe Raman doesn't know Miss Lawson very well, although she is only a newcomer who has worked for three years, but she can understand the industry so thoroughly, this can indicate that Miss Lawson is working very hard and the opportunity I've given is at a good time."Content © copyrighted by .
He said and looked at Cathy, "Miss Lawson doesn't need too much pressure and I have someone to coordinate with you here, you can find them if you have any problems."
Tyrone's dark eyes flashed a trace of coldness, he didn't speak any more and didn't look at Cathy.
But at this point in his heart, it is almost certain that James Franklin's feeling of Cathy is not so simple.
Cathy lowered her lips and looked down, knowing in her heart that for this reason, she had completely lost her qualification to refuse.
Two seconds later, she raised her little face and smiled and nodded. "Well, since Mr. Franklin trusts me so much, I will try my best and strive not to let you and Mr.Brown lose something.."
"Well, come on, I drink a toast to you." James Franklin smiled at Mr. Brown and then raised his glass to her.
Cathy looked at the glass in front of her and hesitated for a second, she planned to take a sip and put it down.
She had a toast with James Franklin and as soon as she was about to drink, she heard the sound of a long voice of the other side sounding, "Is manager Lawson going to visit his mother in the hospital in a moment? Do you want to drink and drive?"
Cathy was stunned and gave Tyrone a furtive look.
Even if he wanted to help her, didn't he have to pull down the stage like this?
In a twinkling, she could only brace herself and grin at James Franklin and said, "Sorry, Mr. Franklin, I'm going to drive to the hospital later, so I can't drink with you this time. Otherwise, you can drink with Mr. Brown and Mr.Raman, I'll pour wine for you."
James Franklin shook his head and smiled helplessly, "My memory is so bad that I almost forgot it, Mr. Brown, Mr.Raman, or shall we drink it?"
Mr. Brown graciously raised his glass, "It's natural, I'm here with you today and my amount of alcohol is not good, you can't joke about it."
Tyrone glanced at Cathy and picked up the cup in front of him and drew a slight curvature from his lips, and turned to the two men, "Mr. Franklin." The three people were drinking.
Cathy ate something on one side, then she stood up and took the bottle from the waiter on the other side and poured wine to three people one by one, she went to Tyrone and looked at him, then she refilled the cup that obviously more than the other two.
The man glanced sideways at her and said nothing.
James Franklin saw the situation, he laughed and joked, "It seems that what Mr.Raman just said was not so nice and Miss Lawson had a grudge. But to be honest, I feel unfair for Miss Lawson too, Mr.Raman have to drink up."
Tyrone's expression is calm and his eyes are indifferent that let people feel inexplicable laziness.
He looked at James Franklin and pulled the corner of his lips and held up his cup and said meaningfully, "It seems that today Mr. Franklin is drunk and does not care about wine."
Mr.Brown was stunned. He took a look at Cathy and said some good words in a hurry, "Ha ha... Mr. Franklin is certainly not for drinking today, my small company will have to trouble both of you to take more care of it in the future, Mr. Franklin can come to Chicago to develop that really helps us a lot, this cup is my honor to you.
Mr. Brown is not foolish either, he was over ten years older than the two, although young people may frighten others, he has lived in shopping malls for so many years and he has seen all kinds of storms and waves. The James Franklin in front of us in Kyoto is a powerful man and he has seen all kinds of women. But today, he is too attentive to Cathy and anyone who with a discerning eye can easily see that. He could see that, let alone Tyrone Raman.
But as a supervisor, other people's personal affairs were not easy to interfere with. It seemed that he need to go back and explored Cathy's voice in private. James Franklin heard the words and looked at Tyrone and put down the cup, his thin lips bent upward, "Mr.Raman could sit here, probably not for drinking. " The man's eyes sparkled and he did not speak.
Indeed, unless Cathy was here, he would have made an excuse to leave.
But from James Franklin's words, it seemed that he already knew his mind which made Tyrone suddenly became more vigilant.
Cathy bowed her head and pretended not to understand what they meant.
But she also did not understand, although she could feel that there was something in their words to test each other, she really could not guess what they really wanted to do. But she didn't want to worry about that much, and now she just wanted to get out of it quickly.
They don't know how long it took. After Cathy handed the waiter the third empty bottle in her hand, they finally stopped drinking. But it seemed that they didn't plan to end soon.
There's a little drunkenness on all three faces. But after all, they were all veterans of the mall and they will not be without manners.
Cathy was very uncomfortable at the dinner, she pretended to raise her hand and look at the time, then she touched Mr. Brown and whispered, "Mr. Brown, I'm a little worried about my mother, can I go back to the hospital first?"
Mr. Brown has not responded yet, James Franklin smiled and he was charming, "Miss Lawson quickly, go back and say hello to Mrs. Lawson. If there is a chance, I will go to the hospital to see Mrs. Lawson." When his voice fell, Mr.Brown nodded, "Go ahead, the Secretary will come and take me back later."
