"Please mom! Just a story before bed!" Calig pouted. He really felt like listening one right now.
The mother smiled as she fixed her son's pillow.
"I don't really have much story to tell you anymore honey." She answered him while patting Calig's head.
"So just tell me the story where you know there are many gods and they do this and that." Calig energetically launched his fists as he described the little information he remembered of the story.
The mother was amused by her son's demand. She wondered why he liked that story so much. It wasn't even a story for kids. It was just a legend.
"Okay so sit quietly if you want to listen to it again!"
Calig really like that story so he quietly laid down on the bed.
The mother patted her dress before sitting on the bed. She slowly organised her thoughts and opened her lips.
"There was nothing but darkness and evil throughout the world. The world was considered nothing as hell. As darkness spread, it converged and thus was born the father of all gods: Lihin. He gazed at the evil surrounding the whole world with his dark eyes. He knew it, he felt it. Something was incomplete, something was missing."
The mother stopped and gazed at her son.
"Do you remember what was missing?" She asked him.
Calig scratched his head before answering her: "It's light...right?"
His mom started lightly laughing when she heard his answer.
"Sometimes I really doubt if this is really your favorite story. At least you didn't completely get it wrong. What was missing was balance. Lihin is the god of darkness, balance and order."
Calig slapped his face for his stupidity. Everyone knows who the father of all gods is.
He suddenly felt a warm hand touching his hair. He didn't panic. He knew it was his mother's.
She was signaling him that continue listening to the story.
"Knowing that the world wasn't balanced, he used his powers to cleanse half of the world. However, no matter what he did, evil kept on coming back. So he decided to created a new realm of darkness where he would seal all evil from the world. That realm is called Karker. He created humans to fix the damage that was done and let them live in the mortal realm.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
With all these done, he still felt something was missing. This time, he knew it was him who was unbalanced. From the bright sky, his first son was born: Lux, the first god ever created. With his creation, Lihin knew that balance was restored, still, order was not. He couldn't just create a god for light and leave out other things of the mortal world. So created Aqua from water, Soli from soil and so on.
The gods were too powerful. They couldn't live in mortal world. They resided in a new realm created by Lihin and Lux. The home of the gods: Cinis.
Once Lihin saw that balance was restored, he gave his authority to his three first and most powerful sons. With his remaining power, he gifted Lux the most powerful magic, crafted Aqua the most powerful weapon and gave Soli unlimited strength before slowly falling into eternal slumber.
After having receiving authority from Lihin, a new hierarchy was established. The Origin gods at the very top, the Greater gods on the middle, and the lesser gods at the very bottom.
The Origin gods didn't know that establishing such class would lead to dire consequences. They didn't know that balance and order was not made for everyone. Lead by jealousy, the lesser gods and a few Greater gods rose to ambush the Origin gods. Even together were no match for the sons of Lihin. They were no longer welcome in the holy realm of Cinis.
Lux gathered the Greater gods and the remaining lesser gods who were innocent to join their power in order to open a portal to Karker, realm of evil. There, the jealous gods where banished...Another decision Lux would later regret. The cause of the Great War.
The jealous gods created something truly evil. An entity almost comparable to Lihin himself by using their powers to merge the evil in Karker. Malum, he was called. He opened a giant portal making evil spread towards the mortal realm.
Hordes of demons launched their attack on humanity. Humans were not prepared for war. The gods could do nothing to stop the slaughter.
Just like Malum and the jealous gods, they couldn't summon a portal powerful enough to leave their actual realm. So they decided to choose a human with a pure heart to lead humanity.
They gifted her Lux's magics, a replica of of Aqua's weapon and Soli's strength. Her name: Salva, also known as the Lightbringer.
She taught magic to humanity and lead them to fight back the demons. The war continued on for ten years. Humanity managed to push back the demons to Karker as Salva destroyed the portal.
The war ended. The years of suffering came to an end. As balance was slowly restored, Salva suddenly disappeared. No one knows were she went."
Calig's mother finished telling her story and stood up from the bed. She knelt down and slowly raised her hands to hold Calig's cheeks.
Although Calig clearly saw her actions, he was startled. He felt that something was strange. Something was not normal.
He still let her touch his face but when he moved his eyes to look at her, he felt a chill run down his spine.
Her eyes were all blank and dark, devoid of any emotions.
"M-Mom?" He tried to move away from her grasp but he realized he couldn't even move a finger.
Calig's mother's lips slowly opened as a ancient mysterious voice echoed in his ears.
"Find the spear-
