I originally had a different idea for the setting of this story and would like input on it. In this story, humans have used up all the earth's resources and faced extinction. In the other version, humanity would be thriving and progressing with technology. So what would make a more interesting story, a post-apocalypse setting or a thriving, technologically advanced society? This is my first attempt at writing in 15 years as well, figured it was time to stop putting it off! Thanks for reading. In the future accidents, crime and disease do not exist. Because if an accident were to occur, if a crime were to be committed, or if a new disease was discovered, localized time travel would reverse harmful or unwanted outcomes. Controlled by a city-sized AI it was perfect. Spill a cup of water on your keyboard, request a time jump, your drink is back in its glass and your keyboard is good as new. But something sinister watched from the shadows, waiting for its chance to intervene.
